Hey fellow pirates...
Remember the cartoon someone did of Ginger way back ?, well... ginger used to keep it in his bio, it was funny as hell... made a mockery of himself by using it :-)
The guy that hosted said picture on web decided to replace it with something sick.
Someone has used this out of game link as the ultimate weapon against Ginger, and though I can't go into detail as it's against the rules here, my CEO can no longer play eve.
BOOHOO, we kill you at gate and someone pulls this stuff... I hope this gets sorted as soon, or I'm just outta here.
Forum mods: do not lock this thread, I have not discussed anything I should not.

So someone got Ginger banned? As unliked as he his it is unfair (out of game) to someone who pays money every month to lose their ability to play Eve because of some ūinsert several words that will be filtered here-
Kinda like an out of game scam. Bleh. ThatĘs really just stupid. I really hope it gets sorted out.

Wow that sucks. Eve is full of whiny babies who don't like getting popped at gates and will use whatever means they can in order to gain an "advantage" over someone who pops them.
Really crummy. I hope that it's only a temp ban. Not that I'm a card-carrying member of the SNOWY fan club - I just think people need to grow up.

I don't like Ginger Magician one bit...
HOWEVER:
If someone did this to bring him in trouble, it's pretty sad. I hope for GM that the ban is only temporary and that the GMs are looking further into the issue (i.e., the location and name of the linked file should be good hints at the supposed content of the pic.)

Honestly, it's his own fault for hotlinking/directlinking to webspace he didn't have control over. This happens all the time, and I've done it to people myself... checking my site statistics to see someone is excessively 'borrowing' my bandwidth, I have no problem with exchanging the file with something else they might not like. That's the risk you take when linking to someone else's files! It's not that expensive to get some webspace of your own, or even use a free image host service. |

Lame to use an out of game tactic like this, sure, you can say now don't hot link, but using an out of game method like this to get someone banned is lame.

its funny though :P
its even more funny when you discover that your bandwith gets chewed up because someone is hotlinking stuff like mad so after a little investigation you swap the image to a totally inappropriate pic.
i did that to a ***** once who just wouldnt stop hotlinking my stuff even after i asked him about 4-5 times.
he also thought he was cool by stealing my bandwith.
he cant access those sites where he linked my pics to in his name.
moral of the story here is, dont hotlink stuff when you know ppl dont like you and dont be a ass to them if they ask you to stop hotlinking.
