What would you recommend for a ship to use for low-sec hauling with small cargo (bpos, data cores, mega/zyd etc). It should be able to survive against smart bombing so ceptors are out of the question.
Blockade runner with nano/istabs and agility improving rigs?
What about non transport/t2 ships? Need to find a good alternative for an alt as well. Nano-Sigil maybe?

Nano-battleship. If you can't have an interceptor, take the next best thing.

assault frigate, you can fit it to so it wont be popped by smarties, and it can align fast

Force Recon - Can warp while cloaked with cov ops cloak, and carry decent cargo amount (~400 without expanders). Since its low sec, there are no warp bubbles, so cov ops can come and go at will. And if you need to go afk to the can halfway through the trip.. no problem :)
Cover Ops frig - Same as force recon, but much smaller cargo capacity. 70-80 mil cheaper though.
Blockade runner - A competent blockade runner pilot with a good setup can pretty much not be caught in low sec. Even in 0.0 with a bubble its very hard if they know what they are doing and dont panic upon jumping into a bubble.
Nano-ship - Thorax with 5 Istabs basically instawarps and is pretty cheap. Cant go afk for potty breaks though. And cant carry as much as blockade runner.

This is what i use for level 4 courier missions. It warps fairly instantly, and while in warp it goes the fastest (13.5au). You dont really even need a cov ops on it tbh.
Fit it with some micro aux's and medium extenders and it'll be good.

Try Sigil with 4 warpstabs + 1 Local Hull Inertia Stab in low Best shield extenders in med Cloaking device in high
3 rigs for agility
If you fall into pirate camp just wait until they leave. If they manage to uncloak you, stabs and shields should help
But you still have a little probability of death.

actually, force recon is the best choice since it can instantly cloak if you spam the cloak button
cov ops frig is a good choice but a little fragile

On the cheap end, a Stabber works well for this. 2 extenders + MWD (or possibly more tank if you're not in 0.0 or worried about missing a Wt0.)
I've been using Jaguars and Wolfs a lot, and more recently a Sabre since I started seeing smartbomb traps. The Sabre is actually really cool for this because of the great speed, agility, and cargo hold size, as well as the ease with which it fits a good shield tank. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Actually, a pilgrim'll do 1058m3 with a full rack of expanded cargo IIs
For cheap I'd go nanosigil. Blockade runners are fairly cool, but more expensive and have higher prereqs. For 'ultra secure', covert or recon - they're not quite unstoppable, but require a very healthy dose of bad luck (or carelessness) to lose one when running cargo.

No reason to use anything other than a cov ops frig for this. Once decloaked from gates you can cloak instantly, far faster than anyone could target you if you do it right. Warp off, your safe. Nothing except another covert ops can keep up with you at warp speeds, just keep jumping and you'll be fine.

You want at least a fast AF. Smartbomb traps will kill shuttles/cov ops/inties, an AF will probably survive and with inertias it's still un-catchable.
Stabber also works well, decent cargo bay, fast, and being a cruiser it wont get popped by smarties.

The 'tackling' interceptors warp at 13.5 as well.

its not the problem of entering warp, its coming out of warp and into someone's smartbombs
