Perhaps you should add some logic. Both sides involved multiple alliances/corps. That always mess up killboards, since you copy over 'your' killmails but not your killed allies.
I'd assume BoB came to help their pets to stop the sieging of a tower and managed to grab one of the dreads? Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

BoB and allies jumped into a gate camp and sent support to tackle a lonely dread in siege mode. I think the others already got out. Dread went down pretty fast and the gate camp was pretty crazy.

I don't really know the exact numbers. I know hostiles were sieging a tower so we gathered our forces of about 100 or so and jumped in. I think I saw local peak at around 300. From my alliance KB and the BoB KB our losses were low. Not sure about the other friendlies that were involved. There was a lot of lag. What other details do you want?

Edited by: DTee on 11/03/2007 00:33:55 I'm not sure of exsact numbers as multiple sides were involved. I can add that the battle wasn't as one sided as it seems, by looking at the BoB killboard. (The sole reason being more people were in the BoB gang). The ka-tet killboard shows atleast 15bs's killed.
I wasn't there at the time. The battle report I got was that a fight took place at the camp. The dread was scrambled and killed as explained by others in the thread.

The dread that went down was completely lagged out and totally unresponsive. That is why it couldn't leave with the rest of them.
Cross-checking known involved parties' killboards gives:
15 combined hostile (BoB/EXE/RISE/etc) BS down 10 combined friendly BS down
Assorted support on both sides, including 2 friendly Command Ships, were also lost.

There were a lot of hostiles on the gate when we jumped in and there was a large bubble up. I can't say for sure how many, but I would say at least 100 hostiles in local.

It really depends on your perception. Single fight dont win wars neither do they lose wars. The truth remains that victory relies on the ability of the enemy to be able to defend their assets completely, at all times.
edit: correction it was Ka-tet and allies. My gratitude to the alliest that took part.

Edited by: Kirja on 11/03/2007 00:50:12 Was about even fight shipwise. We had less BS's, but had heavy carrier support. First 2 minutes it seemed going ok. Primaries were called, beer bottles opened, usual stuff.
Then the ultimate weapon of eve hit - the lag of doom. Couldnt do anything, modules didnt react, targets could not be locked. FC were telling same primary over and over, it just wouldnt die (due to lag i recon). Suddenly i noticed lots of yellow and red boxes and decided to warp out. Strangely enough ship did that very fast. Then i warped back, landed in bubble and droped to desktop. :D Loged in back in pod.
Thats a perspective from my side. Hope it helps.

I was in a little Raptor most of the fight. Our gang didn't have many battleships, but loads of frigs delivering fighters. The enemy gang seemed very BS heavy, but it seems that was due to the enemy support warping to try and tackle dreads. The lag was very, very bad, but also somewhat strange... module lag seem to come and go in 'waves'. I spent most of the fight attempting to tackle enemy primaries, which would usually result in my trying to pulse the MWD to get in range, and then the MWD and helm not responding to any other commands till I was about 200Km away from the fight. Rince, repeat. It actually wound up keeping me alive longer than I would otherwise have.
The strange part was the waves of lag. Most of the fleet fights I've been in lately the lag has been fairly uniform. I have a pretty powerful PC and usually never get framerate lag at all... just module lag, and today was no different. But every 90 seconds or so, everything would seem to catch up, and for about 10 seconds I could activate modules and see only a 3-4 second delay. Then the lag monster would come back and I got to watch the pretty graphics for a minute.
Seemed pretty even. The tower siege was definitely broken, though, so a victory for BoB on that score. Lag was bad, but I had fun. A powerful comp makes these kinds of battles a wonderful spectacle to see. If CCP could get the command lag down to at least 3-4 seconds per action then fleet fights like this would be the most fun you could have outside of bed.

glad you all had fun...
Also got rumor that MC crippled D2 low security pos production and industry network with 3 bill of POSes destroyed and who knows what other drawbacks from attack of this size? Any truth in that?

Was a fun fight. Keep in mind however that killboards are generally not the best way to see how the fight went (lol at the 60 bob kills and 10 losses), and forum smack is even less accurate. Was a bit of a slugfest on the gate with BoB/friends jumping into a large bubble and probably 6-7 carriers worth of assigned fighters. Losses probably about even on both sides. We did lose a dread, but there was nothing we could have done about it (lagged to death basically).
Numbers were about even, BoB/friends had a BS advantage, friendly forces had a carrier/fighter advantage. Lag was very bad im sure on both sides, lots of people getting module lag, and the lag was sorta behaving wierdly like other people said (almost seemed to get worse as the fight progressed for me). Lost a BS, but still had fun doing it, hope we get more fights in the future .

Now the last dude just couldnt activate or jump or anything... so dead. Can hope for a reimbrusement! as it had every opertunity to jump out, we were even speaking with the capital pilot on TS.
But nice fight :)
Yeah that was about it from my side. We were out on the town and we got word of the dreads attacking allied towers. Grouped up with the others, made the dreads our primary goal and stormed in with them in mind. Too bad we only got one though, we were hoping for a larger catch.
As for the BOB loss score, that is pretty accurate. We were all right there in the same spot when we did a unified loss inquery. 3 BS from EXE, 2 from rise or bob and like 5 frigates. Ten total.
