I run a very similar set up, dual 19 inch wide screen monitors. one major issue though is that when you run it across both screen like he has I get sick to my stomach. Reason being is that space is actually distorted at each end of the monitor. The only thing I can say is that it's trying wrap around you. and everything is out of proportion.

Wasnt Matrox to release the DVI version of the Triplehead2Go any day now ? Incase you didnt know current version is VGA connectors only and thus signal degradation if you use LCD's.

hey clean up that overview, haven't seen so much crap cluttering one in ages. love the set up. gonna have to look into that one day, new car more important. Quick question(s):
ballpark how much? was it hard to do? configuration issues? what is that thing that looks like is a left handed mouse but is not a mouse and how do you use it in eve?

Looks beautiful. I had no idea EVE already supported this sort of thing. I'd love to get a second monitor just to put all the chat and overview windows in. But if I were to do two monitors, wouldn't the "front" of the ship be caught right in the centerline between the two monitors?

Originally by: Hllaxiu Is that the same FOV you get with a single 4:3 client?
no, eve supports 3840X1024 , FOV is increased by about 40% at a guess and the rest is stretched, but all the chat/info boxes are at correct aspect ratio for width, only ship/space is stretched a tad
and VGA connectors on my system show a decent piccy , DVI not needed though the extra clarity would be nice, but as one who bought this on it's release I had no choice and it hasn't affected me -------------------------

Hmm,
I don't like it.
True, there is alot hell of space to arrange the windows, but it just won't suite my likings.
I'd go for a 30" Apple Cinema Display, if I could afford it
P.S.: I'd like to see real Multi-Monitor-Support in EvE, so that I can play on the mainscreen, while having all the chats and stuff on a second one. That would be much better, than the Overview totally out of sight on that right monitor there. .

Is there any way i can do this with some plain old software and no need to buy any hardware?
It would make organizing chat windows and stuff sooo much easier. ________________________________

The signal quality is OK, though I haven't seen the DVI-version yet.

- 999Ç (Tripplehead + 3 Monitors) - absolutely easy to install. no problems at all. - it's a microsoft sidewinder strategic commander (programmable left hand device). but i recently bought a "saitek pro gamers command unit". that device is even better!

Right! Don't do virtual widescreen setups on two monitors, because of the point you mentioned. There was also a Matrox Dualhead2ToGo, but with that you'll encounter exactly this problem. All the "center info" is at that disadvantageous point where the two monitors "meet".
Originally by: Hllaxiu The screen on the left appears to have a greatly distorted image, though I could be wrong.
You're right. The outer screens are a bit distorted. That could be optimized.

I really despise the fisheye thingy that Eve does. It would be really cool with a superwide screen if that didn't happen.

Originally by: Grimster Edited by: Grimster on 13/03/2007 00:11:15 I had similar setup but found it difficult in combat when having to move the mouse a mile a minute to click in space/overview/etc. even with the Razer at 2000 dpi and that was with just 2 screens at 2560 X 1024, dunno how you're finding 3.
I run the eve client in a single screen now, and all the TS, IRC, etc. in the 2nd.
Works well.

I showed this setup to my wife three days after you posted that.
Last night wife had it installed on my desk for my b-day. Turning 40 was suddenly much better!
Looking very forward to enjoying Eve in all its splendor!

What I would love was to run 2 accounts (1 on each screen) and then one with windows or even 1 less screen.
Is it possible 2 run 2 screens only (the name "triple"???)

Woah!!! I'm not rendering a wallpaper for THAT resolution :P
Btw. There's 2 things you have to do: 1) Enable Anti-aliasing for the coolness 2) Persuade CCP to give you the opportunity to increase your Field Of View (to like 90 degrees, instead of 45 or something)
That'd be looking sweet :D _ Planet Sight Wallpaper - EvE map |

hehe.. not bad - I think I should make a thread with some screenies of my setup too.
I run a 22" CRT @2048x1536 wtih 16xQFSAA and Supsampling, 16xAF, produces some lovely graphics even without the fancy DX9 stuff CCP has planned. And on an 8800GTX, I still run well above 70fps, and over 120fps in stations. I recommend the experience

I did consider getting another couple of 19 inches, for something similar.
But instead I went for a 1920x1200 24 inch Widescreen.
In window mode I can easily see two clients and what's going on.
When I'm out fighting then I generally switch to 1600x900, which still allows me plenty of desktop space, but also means I can see gang, command channels etc.
And for fleet ops and the like, 1920x1200 is glorious :)
