If you donŠt have 1 hour to play at one given time, DT is not your problem.

Yup. This could be the way to do it. A simple variable indicating up to which level of the mission you arrived.

/me groans .. here we go again
For those of you whos nights are uninterrupted eve bliss I am sure your right. But for those of whose eve nights a punctuated by an hour of eve withdrawals, it can be tough to finish a mission. Way back, rofl like 6 months ago in 1952, when I ran missions it took days to complete a 'Guristas Extravaganza' thanks to the dt.
I dont care much for missions anymore, but I would like to see a different model used for downtime timing, i.e. maybe a rolling roster that starts the dt at different times of a period that fits with CCP's admins working day. And before the flames start, just because something has always been done a certain way i.e dt always at 1100 eve time, doesnt mean there is not a better/more equitable way of doing it. Those of us living in the tz's around GTM:10:00+ are tired of having dt stuck right in the middle of our prime playing hours, we pay just as much as everyone else for the game time, why should we get less than everyone else at it?
Anyways cyas online ... nbsi and fly safe -----------------------------------------------------------------

The OP idea sounds good to me - and the record of levels cleared sounds simple enough to do it. My playing time is very variable, and having something short to do sometime would be good.

OP - Good idea. Can be a pain if RL drags you away knowing you have a DT to deal with before you complete your mission.
As for the first couple of replies, why don't you read the damn posts properly before making sarcastic responses. No skin off my nose you understand, watching people demonstrate their own stupidity amuses me no end.

/signed Good idea from the OP.
As for the folks who don't understand why this would be a good idea, simply trust that for a casual player this would be a wonderful option if it were implemented... you don't have to understand why, and if you didn't understand the OP's explanation of why, just don't worry... just /sign the request and know that it will not cause you noticeable lag if the server has to read one extra variable stored about your mission indicating how far you've already gotten through it.
Wred ----- If everyone had to have at least a room-temperature IQ in order to post in these forums, we'd all end up reading a hell of a lot less verbal-diarrhea. |

OP
"We would be able to start a mission one day when we just have 15 minutes of time and finish it two days later"
Sounds very clear and concise to me...
Im kinda in agreement with the op on that that (with what currently stands), but i don't see it coming about personaly....
Ill explain/
Missions are undergoing an overhaul according to the mission dev man... with the shift to anything like a current 2-3 hr grinder being moved to low sec anyway... your casual 15 minuter/1 hr players players will only have those fast'ish missions to complete, so in effect there's little need to call for it realy.
ofc... with the shift to low sec... ccp desire you to form (quote) protectorate mission runner alliances and corps...
Chances be have it..... if your prepared to make that sort of commitment to a (group oriented) alliance or dedicated aim/goal corp... your likely to be the sort of person that sits in front of a computer all night anyway.... so 2-3hr missions won't be a problem ______

If it can be easily implemented they should do it, but tbh putting significant effort into stuff for people who can only play 15 min a day would be bad. -
If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |
