You should buy a character that can fly a dreadnaught to have the upper hand and keep aggressors at bay... it'll cost more , but it's a worthy investment. Who would engage a capital ship in lowsec ? Not to mention that you can easily exact revenge on those vile pirates by yourself with it.

let me explain u what a pirate is:
a pirate is someone who makes money by killing u and taking ur stuff or he just ransoms u.
in eve, there are 2 kinds of pirates
lowsec pirates (0.4 - 0.1)
highsec pirates (1.0 - 0.5)
u were killed in lowsec, any player can attack and kill anyone they want to there. Absolutely nobody is safe in lowsec.
highsec pirates wardec people in highsec and blow em up for the same purpose as lowsec ones, only difference is we dont get a sec penalty and concord doesnt come after us 
theres also the form of highsec-suicidepirates: kill someone before concord comes and pick up the loot with an alt.
lowsec is too dangerous for u, so u should move to highsec, problem is that ur corp is decced by my alliance, so ur not safe anymore there either.
u could still quit ur corp so u end up in a noobcorp in highsec, but ur still not safe  i can still suicidekill u
ow yeah and ur terms? most pirates think like this: Take everything u can. Give nothing back!

Thankfully, the vast majority of ppl that play this game, especially the older players, work long and hard in-game to earn their way into a BS. Both in terms of grinding for the isk and making sure they have the skills. Personally I didn't even dream of getting into a BS for my first 9 month in the game, and then I WORKED for it.
WoW generation players, as you appear to be, that buy their way into a BS with real-world money, rush up the skill tree and suddenly think they are invulnerable are an annoyance to those that have worked for the same priveledge and like a big tasty metal chicken nugget with 'EAT ME' in big neon letters over their heads.

Maybe you should check the forums a little more regularly and get to know who is who in the Eve community. Avoids emparrasing faux pas like calling one of the most famous pirates in Eve an alt....oops
Regarding that, heres a clue - Many pirates stay in NPC corps to avoid getting wardecced. NPC corps can't be wardecced by player corps.

Okay all i can say is the following:
I generally agree that hitting lower-point characters is kinda lame. but let me explain a few things:
Firstly, i'm going to address the fact that you were podded.
Seriously never ever sit in space in a pod, for any reason. It's damned near impossible to lose a pod if you keep aware of your surroundings. If your ship gets popped, your pod will follow if they lock you. the lock time for a cruiser to a pod is fairly long and pods instawarp, so you have NO reason to lose it in that situation. I klnow you sat there and talked, i've lost ships that way, but all you can do is say "lesson learned" and move on.
Now to your "WAAAAH HE BEAT ME UP WHY!" which is seriously how it sounds from here.
he beat you up because he wanted to beat someone up, and you were dumb enough to let him. Truly, there was no reason for you to lose that fight. firstly you could've warped immediately if you had moved even slightly from the start location. Always align to warp out when in a lowsec system and in a vulnerab;e position.
FFS just say "i learned from this" and move on before everyone in Eve wardeccs you. just be glad my CEO has yet to have spotted you.

Your fresh meat dangling in front of him. You wondered into his territory an thus got knocked down on the food chain greatly. His tactic wasn't lame because he wasn't after a duel he was after you and your modules, if he wanted a fair 1vs1 duel he would've asked for one. And as for the war dec you got that from the forum posts as far as I can tell.
BTW the war dec on you now just dumped ya a whole lot lower on the food chain of Eve.
