Just curious as to the community's thoughts, after all this time of Eve, which alliance or corp at a specific time do you think has commanded the most respect from the Eve population, over the course of time?
M0O: Back in the glory days?
BoB: When everyone wanted to be them, or be with them?
CA: Original CA when they were one of the most affluent, influential player groups out there?
CFS: The first player 'alliance' to try to open up the borders of 0.0
Goonfleet: At the risk of being controvertial, I'm referring to the time before they were embroiled in a very major war that polarised the eve universe

If it wasnt for your employment history i would say.. goon alt... cant believe that is a serious post tbh..
edit: i'm waiting for someone to suggest Privateers.. that would be the thread complete right there!

... why you might ask, simply put, before ASCN, before BoB, before G or D2 and so on... while the original Curse Alliance [CA] was running around.
Yes ladies and gentlement, before the forum warriors and when EVE 0.0 reallty belonged to the hard-core.
Corps and alliances where running arround before being hindered by CCP Games bastardised option of alliance warfare when the true Shinra Corp led by Chow-Down would chase 'me' from Delve to A2 on-masse looking for a Raven kil... Yes Chow-Down I remember being chased by Shinra and YOU from Delve to A2 your entire corp chasing one player :)
Thats the history of EVE gentlemen.... Forget your alliance blob war-fare.... forget your blobs, etc.
EVE has a history yes, a history that is lest begon, a history that can never be forgotten be it from the first ones such as ourselves to the current beings that play the games.
First ones such as the CFS, and the THEN FA, the THE CA when the entire south was monopolised by the then Xetic Alliance, the THEN CA and the THEN SA, the north never existed.
Thats the EVE history, when the true 0.0 legacy the CFS and its co-member corps and alliances once existed and hence led to the what now is BoB, D2, BoB etc.
I was there in the beginning, when CFS finnaqly collasped, when CA gave way, when FA grew from pure Fountain to be a force which was shot from the skies and returned, when the original PA once stood and regew, when Xetic grew to be the souths massive power, when SA collasped due to its carebear weight and regrew to spout FIX and its other co-hortz....
Such forth has EVE:Online had a long and rich history...
... a history that I believe will not end, a history that the people of EVE be it original players and those that came afterwards, will not surrender too.... The game, the life, the belief....... that is EVE:Online.
A game while demanding our utmost in will-power, a gaqme that demands our respect, our best and our currange....
Lets not forget our origins..... a space without bar, a space with out bigorty, a space where all are equal and all are seen as we are.... Let the presant descide who we are, and were we go...
BoB, D2, LV, and Goonies, they will come and go... its EVE that will prevail and its EVE which is all in all, our birth, our presant and also our future.... no mattar what that future brings.
Simple put... for being what EVE was meant to be.... for what it shall be... a game.... a game where everyone shall have fun and for when it all matters.... FUN is all we have.

Bob for being the epitome of the hated and potent superpower. MC for being the tiny, unbreakable island of warriors ala feudal japan. Goonswarm for their mongol horde like style. -A- for being a violent and feared rogue state. RA for being the true 'phoenix'. And lastly.. privateers for rocking the eve universe in a totally new way.

BoB - for strength and discipline
Privateers - for bringing the wars to empire

EvE-Uni - for making sure new players get to see the best of EVE
IAC - for fielding the imperial apocalypse in the tournament
MC - for many very well executed contracts
Outbreak - for being infamous PvPers
AAA - for being against all authorities

I could go on with the list.
LFC for example, the corp the OP belongs to, is a founding corp of 3FA, who in turn were the alliance that lasted longest in Syndicate. Or Lotka Volterra, there is a thread about them called 'Proud to be in LV' or something similar. Was tempted to post in there and express my admiration for what they had built up before the war swallowed their territory, but did not because I am sure it would have been taken in bad spirit.
EVE is such a vibrant and diverse place, that the list of alliances or corps that did or do stand out with something is vast.

Im going to have to say Red Alliance.
1.RA - To come back from nothing. To hold one system in the middle of nowhere and to now be the strongest alliance in this game.
2. Goonies for sheer astonishment. WHO would have thought a year ago, other than Remedial, that the goonies would be the power house they are today.
3. Bob for being Bob - despite all thier shortcomings, handouts, Devs etc, they decided to make eve an interesting place.
4. ASCN - For all the cookie dough

I'd say original CA and Xetic. Even the successor alliances to these alliances (ASCN, Imperium, Force of Evil, .5, NBSI and more) all have had powerful effects on Eve. The ripples from those two alliances are still being felt.

ASCN built so much infrastructure down south that cannot be destroyed (outposts) and the first titan wreck that it will definatly be the one that leaves the most lasting marks in new eden.

Well... in terms of hard physical legacy... ASCN built how many outposts?
I mean, there may be players from other alliances that live on in new alliances, and some of the older players remember this alliance or that alliance. But building an outpost is something that changes the way part of the map of Eve is looked at forever... Regardless of if anyone remembers or cares who built it.

If we talk about eve-past, i don't understand why noone is nominating Fountain alliance and Stain .
From a personal pov i would have to say the most impact on the game camed from:
STAIN.
Stain was the one alliance that influenced the south to a different direction than the north... meaning unity and cooperation and not perpetual conflict.
Not only was stain one of the biggest and long lasting alliances but has spawned more alliances than any other entity in eve.
Other alliances would be... in no particular order:
Xetic/ascn - with theyr legacy of industrial power
Phoenix - for the first sight of sanity in the north
G/D2 - for the first true Northern power
CA - as the first true pvp alliance
CFS and ISS each for the great ideeas that were based upon (though both failed)

NBSI.. For killing the first dread and pwnnning the **** out of ATUK in big empire war so they all had to retreat to some npc stn in H-pa..
