Hi there just been pondering this subject after seeing a few intys on scanner, what is the best anti-inty ship? Is it a destroyer with T2 guns or is it a bs with a smart bomb lol So from personal experience what is the best?

Crusader is a good anti-inty inty. Dunno if it is the "best" for the job.

Prior to last patch I guess a Nanophoon would do the trick well ;)

 Kestrel.

4 Rocket Launchers, 2 Webs, 1 Scram, MAPC, 400mm Plate.

That one only works on close range ceptors, but who cares, since you lose about 400k each time you do it but he loses 20 Mil if you get him.

 Cheaply?

Thrasher: 7x 280 (or 280/250 mix if fitting is a problem), 1 20k, 2 webs, gyros in lows

Sit on gate, wait for them to get in 10k. They'll die in two volleys, 3 at most. T2 guns are more expensive, but obviously better because of superior alpha and t2 ammo.

The thrasher is the best because of the nature of artillery, and the fact it has 3 medslots. One for scram, and two webs. The huge alpha of a thrasher's artillery will *****any interceptor. Set keep range at 9km, and double web them. No transversal, huge alpha strike = one dead inty.

Also works to a lesser extent with catalyst with railguns, but the thrasher is best because most destroyers fit for anti inty have no tank, and the thrasher gets the job done quickest.

EDIT: It's also useful in larger gangs, where you can hit from 60km with tremor S.

for a true sniping ship that pops inties, the thrasher is superior to the sabre, the main reason for this is three fold.

Longer optimal, with an inherent +50% optimal bonus a Tracking Enhancer II and an 'Orion' Tracking CPU I (aint got the t2 skill yet) my 280mm Howitzer Artillery II's get with Nuclear S 39km, Carbonized Lead S 45km and Tremor S 51km optimal ranges. Thats massive and makes me wonder why anyone would want to let a an inty get as close as 10km before poping them.
The Thrasher has 12 more power grid at its disposal compaired to the sabre, 280mm arties are power hungry weapons.
Slightly great hitpoints compaired to the Sabre.
Basically for long range artillery bombardment of an interceptor, the thrasher is king bar none.

Falls flat on its face when it meets a 6km/s Crow though, might be able to drive it off with small guns fitted depending on skills. Of course if its forked out for a Medium Corpum nos the crow will have problems too.

Theres one sure fire way to kill an interceptor and that is to deny it speed. In order to do that you either need to get lucky with timing a nos cycle or use a ship with a long range web...
