Hi
When I kill an NPC and someone steals from my loot he gets flagged, allowing me to get it back. When I kill a PC and someone steals from my loot he doesn't get flagged. PC's are harder to kill than NPC's. Why shouldn't the same rules apply?
Also, allowing people to dock just as soon as they've stolen from MY WELL EARNED loot is not acceptable. I demand justice!

Because when you kill a pc...that can belongs to him not you. The thief is flaged, but not to you.

I know that, but why is it so?
Why doesn't the NPC can belong to the NPC then?
Just as if I mined something into my can and someone stole from it I should get kill rights, why shouldn't I get killrights from someone who stole from something I killed?

No I'm saying people who didn't participate in the fight should get flagged for stealing from cans other people earned. Just like it works for all other scenarios.

Well in all fairness that is how it works with jetcan mining - if you try and take back what's in basically YOUR can you get flagged... gg

I went through a small period of jetting my can, damaging it a lot, putting all their ore into my can, then blowing my can up with one or two blasts, taking all their ore with it. God knows why.

I would point out that the PA business plan would grant the OP kill rights regardless of the wreck, the War-Dec would grant that...
I would point out also (to the OP) that players always own their own wreck, if you get blown up on a mission (NPC Kills you) and you return you will find you own your wreck... so the ownership from the player standpoint is the same.
My only answer to your problem would be loot faster...

Keep crying about it. I'm sure all the people of eve will unite and cry out for justice from the devs.
As for me... I'm safely in an NPC corp and I'll continue following you guys around scooping up the loot. I mean, you are ruining someone's day. A little tit for tat can be quite fun. Not to mention profitable.

Take this with a grain of salt... but..
If you left empire you wouldn't have to worry about being concorded when you pop someone who steals your loot...
Just food for thought?

It's not like the NPC's gonna respawn with a newbie ship to get his stuff back..
The PC is however gonna have a little idea about wanting his stuff. It's in no way Your well earned loot, it's your newbieganking wannabe PvP rears kill, no more.

I guess I know where I stand now. Even though my ideas and thoughts are rightful, I'm a well-above avarage PvPer, I've played the game since 2003 that my opinions are not accepted by YOU PEOPLE as long as they have something to do with what I know best.

You are surprised about this? As soon as you have that PA tag after your name you lose a lot of credibility and respect in a lot of people's eyes.

ur so uber, plz post with ur main.
But honestly, a wreck should only be lootable by the people on the killmail for like the first minute or so, maybe 30 seconds. This would solve everything.

No, because 90% of players think that Privateers abuse the war dec system, becaus ethey are too lazy to hunt targets in the proper conditions.

I know you used that question as an argument more than a question (trying to imply there are no reasons why the same rules shouldn't apply), but there are in fact enough reasons for there to be different rules. The most important being that the fittings/cargo you've just blown off a player belong to that player, wheres the NPC ship belongs to no particular player. One could argue that you getting the rights to loot it, is part of the bounty. =AFK=

Abuse? We only use it to it's fullest, we don't exploit it in any way. Do you know how much money we have to pay each week to be able to fight in empire?
And 90% isn't realistic.
EDIT: To the above post, you're right and I agree with you. My judgement tells me that since players who kill NPC's are given the rights to the loot, players who kill other players should get the same treatment.

Erm... define "well earned" for me. As far as I can tell, you mean that you camped an empire gate or station until someone in an inferior ship, with inferior numbers showed up and you and your mates blasted them, to scoop up their loot for profit. All the while doing so with impunity because your meta-alliance has decided to pool resources and wardec targeted corps you think might be profitable.
Hardly well earned, but bully for you and your clever planning. It seems to be a valid tactic, as per Eve's current rules.
However, if that's to be rewarded what's the logic behind saying that someone who essentially camps the campers, in a quicker ship and wardec immunity as part of an NPC corp hasn't just outsmarted you and thereby earned themselves a slice of your pie? (pun intended) That tactic stands as well as the PA one does, as per Eve's current rules.
I think PA is more angry about being outsmarted than being intellectually honest about the rules of wreck/can ownership. You're not really trying to generate an earnest discussion on this, are you? The mechanics are working as intended.

Where do people get these ideas? We're probably one of the best few vs many alliances in the game. Earlier one of our members just killed 5 in a 5vs1 fight. Myrmidon vs Caracal, Caracal, Arbitrator, Maller, Harpy.
Last night, me and my members took up a 4 manned gang and destroyed a 8 manned gang in 0.0. We lost one ship though. Why do you think, no, claim all our fights are completely one-sided fights? I for one, despise those.

Edited by: The Slayer on 26/03/2007 16:54:03 Just scoop the loot faster than the people coming to steal it. Have a loot grabbing ship handy. If you are going to shoot people in high sec you should be prepared for there being other people there when the can drops, and ready to grab the goodies.
And no, if they take from that can they should NOT be flagged to the person who did all the "work" killing the target. The stuff in the can isnt yours, it shouldnt be marked as yours. As to why NPC cans dont belong to NPC's.... well criminal flagging doesnt really affect them now does it, they shoot you regardless. So there is no point the can being owned by them.
Also - yes im a low sec pirate, I gank people on gates too, I just get the loot good n quick ;)
