Had a pirate brag today he had over 1k solo kills in his Pilgrim, but did not produce a link to his KB...
However, i tend to believe him as he is a -10 pirate and everyone docks when he comes in the system, including the thantos that parks his arse in his pos...
In 1 year I have 3, thats right 3 solo kills...Ofcourse I dont go looking for trouble..

1000 kills in a pilgrim solo is hard to believe unless he plays a lot, has no friends, and flies only that ship. but tbh i have had maybe 60 or 70 solo kills in mine but don't use it that much. mostly just barges and random npc'ing ravens and stuff.
it is possible but seen as there is no way of proving it unless they are all on his KB i would be sceptical tbh.
also next time he comes into local just get in a drake with a t2 passive tank. he can't break that even if he was at it all day

Pilgrim is so awsome for pvp I am in my 23/7, however 1k in kills unlikley, again myself had well over 100 kills just ask a corp called StoneDogs they make up a number of my kills mwhahahah

Very unlikely tbh. Ive got around 60 with my eos, and I fly it all the time with a covert ops probing alt to help me find missioners / safespotters. 1k kills in 3 years? Maybe, but 1k in under 2....I doubt it

I suppose it is possible. Just reached 80 kills in my incursus which I've been using for the last few weeks, and a pilgrim should have a much easier time killing things. Most of my kills are noobs though, so maybe I can't compare.
That said, I would still be a little skeptical, especially since he refuses to give you a kb link. Take a note of his corp and google their killboard =P

In case hes been playing for last 3 years contstantly(each day - kill stuff), then yes, taking into account his gang kills and fleet combat kills.
Check most alliance/corporation killboards, even oldest and top pilots there barely brake 1000 barrier with all the gangs/fights.

people like Escador from E-R comes to my mind
he had what? 2k+ kills in his vagabond - a big chunk of them solo
still i'd doubt anyone who claims to kill this amount of targets without some backing-up by a killboard.

I had a -10 pirate in a pilgrim catch me by surprise in my myrmidon at a planet (I was looking for trouble anyway). They are great solo ships, he had me nossed and jammed within seconds. Its a good thing my instincts told me to launch drones and mwd outside the 20km scram range.
He forgot to look in system for my friend who warped in with a t2 fitted drake. The second he saw the drake he broke lock, warped to a safe spot and logged.
The lesson of my side story is: The pilgrim is great for 1v1 (seriously lacks damage without t2 drones) but 1k solo kills? I seriously doubt it.

Is it possible? Sure. Probable? Not likely.
But then again, it all depends on what you count. I had about 700 killmails stacked up on one of my characters, after about a month, and once I deleted everything that wasn't a T2 ship kill, or larger than a BC, I had 210 kills. So out of 700+ killmails, only 210 were BCs, BSs, HACS or Command ships.
Still in less than a month I had over 700 killmails and 210+ BCs and BSs etc. All of which were solo. So for me personally I could easily have 1000+ killmails solo in a couple months. But the thing is- over 60% of those would be haulers, shuttles, pods etc., and that doesn't really count for me.
Because I said so...

I'm really inactive compared to how I used to be back in the day (stupid job  ) But I've had over 2850 kills in DNA, nearly 800 in Finite Horizon, another 650 in BOB, and prior to all of those, there was a period without proper recording, in which I secured a further few hundred.
Through all of that time, I've barely used my Pilgrim, due to both the cost of the cloaks, and it's usefulness. You have to bear in mind, that I PVP almost solely in 0.0, finding Empire combat to generally be extensive harvesting of those with no knowledge of how to fit their ships properly, and thus a limited test of my abilities.
So, it is possible that the pilot you refer to has accrued 1000 mails in his or her Pilgrim, although I would place the qualifier that it was probably in Empire space, and obviously engaging those unaware of what was about to happen.
Make of that as you wish.
You take what is offered. And that must sometimes be enough. |

Yo Rabbid..Nice to see you still play.Core got seriously wierd after you left...
And yah as far as ganking goes. I have tech II drone skill and all the other jaz for flying a Pilgrim. What I lack is solo pvp exp.
I allowed my warrior II's to get killed by a sabre the other day because I was paying more attention to catching him then micro managing my drones..After that i was down to hammerheads wich had no chance against him.

1000 kills aint hard to get over 2 years. ive had several hundred in a month easy. But solo kills is a different matter.
Id love to know where he pirates so i can come and u know emm... sight-see
ive spent hours just looking for a single ship in low-sec to get that number he must be doing some seriors probing and scanning.

Aridia might possibly be the biggest low sec region in eve.There are 0.0 Sized alliances with carriers and 6 complexes to find nubish pilots..
Yahyerer is one of the few stations with 6 Q20 agents in eve.Its a great place to hunt formidable opponents.I see IAC, CA, BOB, D2, CORE, Axiom, etc running missions around there, along with the local alliance wich fields 2 Thantos (so watch out when u gank)...

i've had over 200 solo kills and 200 ransoms ( not same pilots lol) in my pilgrim.. its amazing at what it does.. depends where you fly.
