Our corp has been war dec so many time, that I no longer enjoy the PvE, Mining, maketing, trading, hauling, and PvE. Not everyone is a PvPer. If EvE wants to bring girls and more socialable people into the game, I recommend that you change "War Dec" process. I know CCP is serious about bring in this MASS market to EvE Online, why else would u want to walk in station?; and/or advertise in MMORPG.com, MMO Magazine, PCGAMERS. If you want my friends to cross over from other MMO, please make PvE more enyoable. please help me??

Also your in no position to complain considering your corp has a clichT Art of War quote in it.
Put in the carebear theme song and then maybe you can complain

So you are asking to stay gimped so as to avoid combat?
She has a point because EVE will never grow if pvp is the ONLY focus.

I actually can agree with a lot of what the OP is saying. Not all of the EVE universe should be PVP and war, in the same way that not all of RL is conflict and strife and war and trial by fire. A lot of players enjoy a diferent type of gaming experience, one which is more constructive and social, and less about the destruction of another person's effort. EVE has lowsec. Let the war focus be there. Let there be another type of game in empire.
I for one frown on what privateers are doing for example. Or on what highsec pirates do. Someone who dosen't want to fight will allways be easy prey. IMO the game should protect these people, because, when push comes to shove, they are paying for a different type of game experience than your average pew pewer, despite inhabiting the same virtual universe. PVP, in highsec systems, should be consentual, or at the very least highly improbable. With the current wardec system it is neiter.

PvP is the main point of EVE Online really. I'm staying in an NPC corp until I am ready to move to the player corp I intend joining. War dec does suck hard though. Needs more thinking through.

The weaknesses of a strict industrial and or mining corp is the lack of defense when it comes to PvP.
A decent CEO would realize that being focused like a laser has extreme strengths and weaknesses One of which is the inability to defend themselves should some one want to take a bite out of them
So in a sense your just as gimped in an NPC corp as you are a strict industrial and mining corp

The game does allow you to be protected from war decs. Don't join a player corp.
There is no reason anyone should be allowed to opt out of part of the game they don't like without penalty. I might as well argue that I pay my subs and therefore should not have to put up with being undercut at market by NPC Corp members that I can't shoot. This is a multiplayer game and we must all play by the same rules or it is not a fair game.
Personally I think NPC corps should have a 50% tax to pay for the protection they provide. If you want no part in PvP then don't trade weapons to my enemies, don't build ships my enemies can fly, don't sell ammunition on the open market where pirates can buy it, don't sell loot or minerals that can be used to make weapons. Just trade Quafe, as long as you are not undercutting my traders and therefore hampering our profits and ability to fight I have no issue. You see where this is going?
Everything in Eve is about competition, everything comes back to PvP at some point. If you want to just sit in hi-sec padding your wallet to infinity by grinding missions be my guest. Next time someone wardecs you consider spending some of that ISK on mercs and get them to fight for you. It's social and keeps the Eve economy moving. Asking for game mechanics to be changed to protect you from other players is futile and wrong headed.

I don't know why the hardcore PvPers get alarmed and belligerent when someone suggests there is more to EVE than just PvP.
If the PvP is your sole reason for playing here, then you must be woefully frustrated by the time and effort it takes to replace ships and modules. The trit doesn't just mine itself.
Some people are builders or explorers by nature rather than destroyers. Some would like PvP except for sensing that they can't get it on a level playing field. The exploiters and minmaxers will always be one up on them.
I believe EVE would benefit from explicitly implemented cooperative PvE. And an improved exploration system where you can discover more than boxes to loot. And from a limited interpretive programming language built into the client; NOT to control the ship, but to do other things, and people would be able to put their programs on the market (data chips) for others to purchase and download.

And I recommend you jump off a bridge. Because no, EVE doesn't want girls, EVE wants players..quite frankly most of us (apart from those teenage hormone freaks drooling at their monitor at the mention of a girl) don't give two cents worth of a *bleep* about the gender of a player.
I know several girls in this game who will flat out disagree with you, so please, drop the act and deal with the reality you and your corp is in, learn from it even. Or, you can fail and die...it's all based on that good ol' saying: Survival of the fittest...god I love that saying *hugs it* ^_^

I believe the OP has a point. The War declaration system needs an overhaul.
Currently it is to cheap to declare war. The cost needs to be increased. One way you could address this is requiring additional bribes for each of the NPC Empires that they want the war to be valid in. It makes no sense that the Empires would continue to allow Concord to accept these bribes and then ignore the effects of them.
Another problem is the number of wars allowed, Currently no limit for alliances. There should be a skill to regulate the number of wars for both a corporation and another skill for alliances. (Warfare and Mass Warfare).
Also need a limit on alliances such that once a corp joins an alliance it cannot leave the alliance for 7 days. Once a corp leaves an alliance it cannot join another one for 7 days, even if its the same alliance.

The OP has a point, if Eve is going to become more than a niche MMO then it is going to have to cater to those that want a more "Second Life" type game.
The "walking in stations" stuff shows that CCP has their eye on this market segment. But I wonder if they can get a significant share of this market and stll have empire wars. The decision to nerf the Privateers is an indication that perhaps they want this market share more.
I hope that Eve Online doen't become Carebear Online, what makes Eve special for me is that I am not protected by soft game mechanics and I have to use my brain.
If Eve becomes pottering about in spaceships then, I for one, would rather potter about in large white spaceships with a disk at the front and warp nacelles at the back and where Scotty is in the engine room where he belongs.

Probably the best way to make your corp appear weak and easy pickings is to whine on the forums. This is the second time you've done it. And your leader, who has no clue how to lead, as evidenced by a 95 person corp shrinking to 36 in less than a month, was informed about your last pathetic whine, but somehow hasn't managed to stop you.
You are the weakest link in the Venus chain. It is you that has provided me with all the intel I need on your corp, while your people are running round blaming Ruger for it, nobody has ever stopped to question just how damaging your uncontrolled mouth actually is. Massage your ego, and you'll tell people anything at all.
I don't care how cute you are in RL, but boy am I sick of sucking up to you for information, you actually might be as cute as you claim to be, but you come across as by far and away the most intensively annoyingly self centred person I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with, and there is no amount of cuteness that can make up for it.
My only regret is never being able to collect a Cute SilentGirl corpse for my morgue, such is the protection offered by a solid NPC station.
Thread Winner: That is way too much homework to have done on the back of a single forum whine! Yes, they do talk a good fight.

Originally by: Cadela Fria I'm excruciatingly evil, cruel and unusual..infact I'm just all around unpleasent to come across in EVE
