I keep getting these error? What do I do?
Upgrade to the latest release (actually I recommend upgrading to the latest snapshot binary, which fixes some issues with dates/times if your pc clock is off, and also reintroduces the toolbar as a first step to a configurable toolbar. Right click on the menu to activate it)
TYVM, I was having simular issue. Just now saw you mention the PC clock (known mine was off, but to lazy to correct), and took a look at mine to see that it was set 2 months back . I corrected that and no longer get the "fluffy dead" or something window. Seems to be working perfect.

While I don't really want to cause problems, I'd very much like an answer to why the new EVEMon contacts other servers than CCP's while running.
I just had it trying to contact several different google.com adresses which is pretty suspicious behavior... Until it is clear why it does this, I'd advise everyone using it to use a firewall to block any outgoing connections not going to CCP's servers.
Adresses contacted: py-in-f99.google.com [64.233.167.99], port 80 eh-in-f99.google.com [72.14.207.99], port 80 jc-in-f99.google.com [64.233.187.99], port 80

i can only point you to this class in EveServer.cs
public class InternetCS { /// <summary> /// Performs a HTTP request to http://google.com /// </summary> /// <returns>true if internet connection is working properly</returns>
which does what the comment says, it does a check if your internet connection is up

Ever since this latest update that switched to the API key. Evemon no longer accurately reflects my training. Is there a reason to this? I have a 3 or 4 hour difference on this character and a difference on my alt as well.

Hi everyone, I've tried to run EVEMON, but I get the following error. Could someone please tell me how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

I'm using Vista, and previously my old version of EVEMon was unable to update itself to use the API keys. I told it to ignore updates. I later learned that running in Admin mode would let me update, but I was unable to force it to update.
I uninstalled it and downloaded the latest release, but the API option doesn't appear available. I'm prompted to put in my Username and PW. I've got it working right on my laptop, but I can't figure out how to get it to update anymore.
Ideas?

Seeing as it is open source, I don't suppose you have a link handy to the source? Or possibly a linux-ready RPM or deb file?
Could be very useful, seeing as I run EVE under Cedega and have no Windows machines in my house. :)

Still there, just CTRL-click the ship(s) you want to compare, like it says on the ship browser screen.

The source code is available from a link on the Evemon website (link from page 1 of this thread) http://evemon.battleclinic.com
Although since it uses .net framework I guess Linux is out for now.

Ah, now I feel like an idiot. I didn't have Javascript enabled for your site, so the menu didn't show up.
I guess I'll just have to lean towards coding my own solution, then, seeing as it uses .net framework.

EVEMon doesn't seem to handle the newest skills (the new heat skill and some others). And i see no way to tell the program about the newest skills. Is an update coming soon?

EVEMon skills are fully up to date - please visit the site (linked in my sig) and download the latest version (currently 1.2.4 build 2005) or even better, the snapshot build which has a number of bug fixes relating to training time issues and multiple skill training coompletion notifications - and some new features (Battleclinic loadout integration)

Guys, sorry I've not replied to posts here yet. The fastest way to get my attention is on the evemon forum over at battleclinic.com
It has come to my attention that other sites are offering EVEMon downloads. USE THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK! At least one site I have seen is offering a version that is definitely NOT version 1.2.4 as released.
The EVEMon team do NOT have any official mirrors in place. The only SAFE place to get EVEMon from is the official site (see my sig) _________________________________________________________ Senior EVEMon developer. Try EVEMon today! It's delicious!

make SURE that http://localhost:8080/ is actually in your trusted site list and is "TRUSTED" - there is a bug with the IGB - if you just tick the "trust" box when first asked, it gets added to your list as UNTRUSTED and you need to go back in to the options and set it to trusted also., the traiking / is important. _________________________________________________________ Senior EVEMon developer. Which link? You also need to enable javascript in your browser.
Direct links are : http://evemon.battleclinic.com/downloads/EVEMon-install-1.2.4.1005.exe for the released version
http://evemon.battleclinic.com/snaps/2007-07-26_rev_1067_compiled.zip for the latest snapshot (includes some bug fixes related to training time issues)

Do you have any inactive characters? The API doesn't work with suspended accounts.
If not, I'd suggest grabbing the lateest snapshot build (linked in a couple of posts above) and see if that works for you. Come back to me if you still haev an issue. _________________________________________________________ Senior EVEMon developer. Try EVEMon today! It's delicious!

Edited by: Makkiavelli on 28/07/2007 10:23:16 Is it just me, or is the battleclinic site down?
I've been inactive for a while and I'm trying to get back into the game, so for obvious reasons I need Evemon for this I used it last year when I was still active, so I can't wait to see the improvements you guys made
Anyhoo... will the site be up any time soon, or does anyone have an alternative download link for me?
Greetz,
Makkia

Yes battleclinic's servers are being updated - but the hosting company didn;t tell the site owner they were doing it. Here's what he told me:
"At 7:30pm Friday 7/27, our servers went down. When I called our hosting company to understand what was going on, they informed me that the data center was moving and that we would be out of service for 12-15 hours from 5pm EST 7/27." so in theory they should be back shortly after DT today _________________________________________________________ Senior EVEMon developer. Greetings! New user here, and loving it.
One oddity Ive come across, and it is consistant between two seperate machines running EveMon and Eve itself, two accounts. One is a Vista system, the other is XP.
The character image wont seem to update, even when I ask it to both via web and Eve cache.
(oh, and G15 support is brilliant!)
Great application, looking forward to it's regular use.

Grrr, my EVEmon isn't working today. Any time I try to open it the computer thinks for a second but nothing pops up, and the process doesn't show up on the ctrl-alt-del list. No problem, I say to myself. I'll check the battleclinic site and see if I need to download a new version or something, or at least post my problem there. Of course, that site seems to be down today. I hope the problems are related, but I probably am not that lucky (and I don't see why they would be). Oh well. I'll just resign myself to playing in windowed mode with the ugly blue bar at the top of the screen.

I have a small idea. Sorry in advance if its been suggested before, but here goes.
I'll go with a specific example(me) and spell it out some. I have a skill training, its going to finish in 2 weeks, but at 1:45 in the morning. I work until 7:30 in the morning, so its a small issue. What I'd like to do is switch skills out so it finishes about 7-8 hours later. Rather than go through all my skills individually, a search tool that would let us lazy folk know what skills we have to train around that length of time. I'd imagine it working somewhat like a search engine, you input the time you're looking for and eve-mon filters based on how close it is. Example, I'm looking for a skill that's about 8 hours long, but I don't have any exactly 8 hours long, so it would give training times for skills 6 hours - 9 hours.
I like the program, works beautifully for me. This was just a thought I had after I had logged in to see how long I had left on my skill and thought...dammit I have to figure out what to train to push it up.
This might work for people like me who train a skill halfway just so something is training and then you forget to ever finish it.

That's what skill plans are for. Set up your skill plan so it has everything you might want to train. You can sort the skill plan by fastest skills first, then you can see all the skills you might want to train that fill that time span. ------------
