C'mon people, STOP this stupid stuff.
Lets face reality:
- You DON'T know what the devs are thinking
- As with everything, changes to the game can be viewed from hundreds of different points of view and unless you've designed some timeportal and can go 1 year into the future and see how it worked out, you have no idea
Stop claiming that CCP is destroying thier own game, its irrational and illogical. If you feel that (upcomming) changes are wrong, write up a constructive post and post it in the game-development forum. Its probably the only way you will seriously get any CCP employee to think about what you have to say.
Whining on the forums doesn't get you anywhere. I know there are people that claim that the "carebear" got things changed due to forum whining but i'm sure quite the opposite is true.
I know this topic is probably wasted energy, but its something i had to get out seeing all the whines on here.

OMGWTFBBQ, Martinus is making sense! Wrangler! Dispatch the l33t strike team to bring him in for 're-education'! We must stop this before it is too late!

On a more serious note, the entire Dev team is dedicated to doing whatever we can to improve the game, including some crazy interaction with the community at live events. After all, not only is EVE a labor of love, it also pays the bills and none of us want to jeopardize that.

But, some of them are girls! Erm... not that there would be anything wrong with that.
I've also noticed, based on the frequency and type of replies, that the devs read just about every thread posted. Begging for "dev love" in a thread doesn't do anything.

Originally by: Martinus Crimson Stop claiming that CCP is destroying thier own game, its irrational and illogical.
I don't think anyone is claiming CCP is setting out to "destroy their own game," because like you said, that would be pretty stupid to claim.
It doesn't matter whether most of us are dead set against Interbus insta-teleporting goods, or this stupid "heat" stuff they are pushing, or nerfing figates, or stacking penalties on repair modules, or nerfing trade hubs, etc. It doesn't matter if most of us think devs shouldn't be intermingling with alliances. Even if 99% of us are against everything the devs are planning on doing, the devs would be perfectly justified in doing what they want to do, and if we don't like it, nobody is making us stay.
Just like you said Martinus, its their game, not yours or mine. CCP has never cared about making EVE popular to the majority of potential and actual subscribers, and they don't take their cues from focus groups, polls, and market data. They even broke away from their publisher because they wanted to do things their way, and not have to answer to anybody.
They are the owners, they are the designers, and we are just guests. Which makes me wonder why they even bother posting threads asking for feedback, if they are going to do it anyway regardless of what we say?
Maybe to give the image that they are concerned. Maybe to formulate ways to sell us on changes they want to make that we don't like. Maybe so we can feel like we are actually part of the design process, and that we can feel like co-owners in this franchise.
Now I agree that some of the folks here saying, "if you do this, I'll quit" are attention *****s. That being said, I don't think this whole, "you don't know what you are talking about/quit whining/try it before you slam it" attitude is ill placed as well. The reason we are even posting is because we like the game now while it lasts. By the time the game becomes overly convoluted and gimmicky for a person's taste, they'll no longer be posting here, because they'll already be gone.
And that's fine by me, and fine by CCP. After all, its their game, and they want to design it in a way that makes them happy. They don't have to care about what makes me or anyone else happy, as we are all adults, and we can decide for ourselves what makes us happy.

It'd be pretty damn stupid for a group of people to create something great, make a living off of it, then destroy it and leave themselves without an income for no particular reason.
However, not that I fully believe they're doing this, they are human. For example, even though a parent's intentions are to say make a child happy by giving him loads of money everyday, you will only spoil him, and create the illusion that his good life will continue when you suddenly leave, pass away, whatever, you never taught him to learn to live himself.
CPP's intentions might be good, but some things are simply not right. CPP's EVE is supposed to be a game that was ment to be so free of rules in a way, no police in hundreds of systems, no penalty on scamming. Then why were the rights and roles given to a member of a corp when its CEO didn't log on for a while (while the acc was being payed for the entire time)? While that's working against your own rules, you simply let an exploit (in every single way you can view it) in the game allowing people to scam others using game faulty game mechanics that cannot properly function based on lag, and lag only in infamous systems like jita.
Why are titans left overpowered, which is arguably a matter of opinion, though the good arguments are one-sided if you can me.
Why do more devs post in crappy 4 year anniverary topics, sucking up to CPP topics, and topics where one dev makes a joke, and all the other devs jump on it and spam the thread with more crappy jokes than in threads that actually need dev input?
There's alot of things I can mention, but personally the good points of EVE, as a game, the dev blogs, and the fun I'm having after *chosing* to pay the subscribtion every month, after accepting the terms of use whenever there is a change, knowing that whatever I'm paying for might be changed by CPP at any time, very much outweights the cons of CPP and EVE. But that doesn't mean the community doesn't have the right to step up and ask for the devs to inform us even better, listen to us even better, and when disagreeing with us, explaining why even better, and faster. It doesn't mean scamming exploits based on lag should not be heard of. Just because it is acceptable, doesn't mean CPP cannot improve it for the sake of their bussiness and the future of EVE, for the sake of the players.

My favorite is claiming the accountants are running the show. Like the accountants would have a better idea than the game developers on how to make a game more enjoyable and therefore more popular.

Being one of the old farts, I've seen changes come and go. "OMG THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!111oneone" threads are nothing new. Sometimes I like the changes, sometimes I don't. Sometimes features need nerfing or boosting.
Bottom line is the world goes on and Eve will too.
P.S. I doubt CCP would try to intentionally deep-six their game. SOE's hatchet job on Galaxies was a tough act to follow.
