Edited by: Tilla Hun on 11/05/2007 21:36:34 Bloody annoying. You dont wanna risk PVP because of it. You May wanna risk you ship - because of insurance, but your pod? No.
Remove implants.
EDIT: Sorry - editing here. If you're a Vet - you can afford buying 4-500 mill in implants. Noobs cant. You gain adavantage. Silly. Purely Silly. If you have 4-500 mill in your head, chances are that you dont wanna risk loosing it.
Clone jump? Screw that - you're not clone jumping 8 times a day to pvp/fit your playstyle because of 2 things. You cant - there's a 24 hour delay. YOu wouldnt do that - because you loose precious "training skill time".
Drop implants please.

so better be quiet before somebody actually listens.
On another note, why fix something thats not broken. They work fine and after a while you know how to pvp and barley get podded.
in lowsec its nearly impossible to get podded anyway, except the evil evil lag monster gets to you...
edit: forgot smiley, stupid me
0.0, if you get bubbled, you are very likley to get podded...

I fly interdictors (aka paper ships) with +3 implant sets.
What's my secret? All the skills I'm learning are like 20-30 days long so if I get podded I don't have to worry about getting a new set for a month

What's with all the 'What if?' threads this week? I have implants. But they're crappy ones worth about 200k each in Essence. I want to PvP, but it's not the thought of losing those implants that's putting me off, nononononono... It's the constant feeling that I'm going to lose every fight, the current lack of cashflow (but that's my fault), the unwillingness to spend 3 hours buying a new ship of the same model and fitting it out again.
But that's just me, who Nero kindly described as a "noob".

just becaouse You won't PvP in your implants doesn't mean people in general don't. Just because a couple of your corpmates won't PvP in their implants, doesn't mean people in general don't. Removing Implants from Carebears won't make us want to PvP more, it will simply require us to look for a different excuse. Those that want to PvP will, and those who don't won't. It's as simple as that.

Stop crying and get your jump clone.
Cripes. You make an educated decision about what you'll be doing that night/day, and you do it. If you're going to run missions, use the implant clone and rack up the ISKies. If not, park the implant clone and go rumble till your heart's content.
I use three clones. The implant trainer, the no sec expendable, and the emergency reserve back at Corp headquarters (I move my clone contract around as needed, so its a failsafe against getting stuck someplace I can't escape). I might someday turn the reserve into a combat implant toon as I get my hands on sets of more effective implants.
This is my sig, there are many others just like it. With me, my sig is worthless. Without (or with even) my sig, I am worthless... |

How about you keep implants, but remove ships from the game? Then everybody can just sit around in the stations all day and nobody has to worry about losing a ship.
Or implement a Save feature, like "regular" computer games. Don't like getting ganked at a gatecamp? Just reload and try again!
There's a truth in life that's also very true in EVE, and can be viewed from a hundred different angles and still hold: Time is Money.

So because you can't save - you preffer not to risk the assets? Yes, thats good in one way - it's Eve. But still - there's too many people who can't use "save" and doesnt want to risk "loosing their precious training time".
Does it make any sense at all?

Just suck it up and play with +3 implants. They give a decent boost, and are also cheap and disposable. If that is too much for you then just set a long skill to train before you get podded.

don't think it will ever happen, but what a liberating feeling that would be!! every time i trip and fall back into a set of implants it's always like coming out of a *****ed out binge when someone pries my almost lifeless body out of them.
but man.. after you start flying without them it is indeed liberating.. you can take chances all you want and not have to worry about franticly searching for a moon to spam click when the ship starts fishtailing.

few things to point out to some of yall
characters now start with 800k so there aint no 300k
implants give more than just attributes for sp training - much more
clone jumping can only be done once every 24 hours
running missions gets you more implants than you can hope for and any other pve activity can pay for implants pretty fast too
you keep a set of +5 implants and you jump into them whenever you can
ps yes some people here dont know so dont be offended if you do know

I obviously wasn't sarcastic enough.
You don't lose training time. In fact, if you don't switch skills, your currently training one will continue to benefit from the implants you no longer have until it completes.
How about you just avoid the implants yourself and leave them there for the rest of us that don't mind excersizing the "risk v. reward" principle? Going by your logic, we should also remove all Officer, Faction, and T2 gear from the game because it's too expensive and we might lose it.

It seems a lot of things slow down actual PvP combat in this game.
So t must be how it is sapposed to be, risk risk risk makes this game.
Normal PvP just for the heck of it is not what this game is about IMO.
Games like Unreal Tournament or Quake are for that, from what I can see.
