Yeah I know there is no point in running them since you don't get to keep the loot or isk but you do get to see what they have in store for us. ZOMG!!
Ran 3 missions last night 2 Gallente and 1 Minitar. I was running them for the Corporate Police Force - Surveillance lvl 5 qty -8. I am going to check out the Amarr ones later but this one was closest so it won out.
I ran all my missions with a full set of crystal implants and a Raven fitted as so: 6 T2 Cruise carrying both fury and precision rat specific ammo Pith B-Type XL-Shield Booster and matching amplifier 4 DG or T2 rat spec hardners 2 BCS II 3 PDS II -The implants and booster gave me over 1400 shield HP every 4sec
The Gallente I found were easier of the 3 but only cause the minitar mission had energy neutralizers III that instantly respawn and swap targets and they also hit from 50km out and ripped my boys ishtar 130 cap cycle a new one forcing us to warp out. gallente i never had to warp out but the minitar i stopped counting how many times. there were know capital ships in any of the missions i got but there are more missions to check out. each mission was BS hvy 12+ instant aggression.
i was running them in a group of 3 ships. my raven tanking and doing damage with 2 logistics 1 transferring cap to the other 2 and the other shield transferring to me. i believe the Gallente one with out the neuts the cap transfer logistics would not have been needed.
i'll be checking them out later tonight and will report back to you all afterwards.
ps
i know its not that much detail but i was pretty drunk and doing this from memory so it will get better

Sound interestinging, even though I'd recommend sobering up the next time before you write the post
When reading this, I was wondering: Will there ever be faction Capital ships as LP offers?

Edited by: El''essar Viocragh on 12/05/2007 22:54:14 Just did two with a corpmate.
1) Minmatar Republic Fleet L5 Agent: "Tteesstt Dduuddee" *strike*
2) First mission we did seemed to be a trigger test site.
Image Linkage No further comment :D First room was Ammatar, second one Serpentis. Frigs and Cruisers. Mining the roid caused a beltspawn and it wasn't needed to completely mine it. I guess this one won't become a regular mission, but PLEASE include the roid mining trigger.
3) Second one was against Amarr, destroy a starbase capital ship maintainance array that repairs a carrier before it finishes.
Image Linkage Left and right of the structure you see 12 cruise missile batteries hitting for 900 em damage on 0% resists. The amarr carrier around isn't wanted, neither are the 5 or 6 fighters it has deployed (those attack anyway). 5 additional BS spawned at one point. This one has no gates, so we tanked it with a carrier. A bit NOS.

Minmatar Vherokior tribe has a L5 public relations agent, Minmatar Mining Corp has a mining one, so I guess there will be L5 courier missions.
Oddly enough, the L5 public relations one is in Gelfiven (0.6) right now. O_O

Yes tell us more on the rewards too plz. Did only that trigger mission (seems to be same as El-essar describes, for an Archangel-Agent in Hadoc (uff, no mining laser on my raven) and after destroying the caldari starbasetower in stage 2 it was already over, seems to be just a test-"mission", no mission we will see, only test some game mechanics ? After completing it i got it again. Anyways it gave 15.5k lp, but that lps appeared at the agent again, not at the corp, and i didn't see an lp-shop so maybe we will have to wait a bit till this is implemented on testserver ?

And you did it all for 600k isk...
1000 lp points.....
Atleast you ignored the 'gather a squad of allies'
There's book them and they will come... but thats just friggin mad... you can hardly see the group feeling coming on... when the grand shared reward is something along the lines of half a packet of crisps.
intresting screens though.... the roid thing... looks of it it's probaly worth farming it 20 times over.... more isk in it ______

Seems like lvl 5 is again nothing more like another fun for only those who can afford at least 5 bil on their single ship/setup.
I really hoped it will be like some sort of lp/reward split, or some team oriented mission running to profit several people.... ---

I'm not on SiSi right now to link the missions name but in the mission i struggled to comple there were 3 energy neutralizing towers with the HP of a very strong BS placed at arround 60 km's from the entry point that killed my cap by 200 / cycle each , there were also 2 stasis towers that rendered my speed useless in my first attempts, roughly 8 frigates that scrambled me as soon as i entered and about 10 cruisers/bc 20 blaster battleships and 5 t3 cruise missile towers .... plus other various structures of little threat like t2/t1 towers and such.
Obviously the trick was to a) heat the launchers and kill the frigates, warp out b) kill the stasis towers, warp out c) while kitting the battleships and orbiting the neutralizing towers, taking the neut. towers down one at a time d) finish the mishion.
edit 1: OH, and the agent gave me 300 LP ... edit 2: E war was outrageous again ... 7 - 9 km targeting range WTF ... *snip* - Image not appropriate for eve-o forums - hutch

that may be so, but even though it sounds a evil mission to any active tanker, this should not be easy enough for you to do it solo in a drake...

I switched from 3 t2 ballistic controls and one shield power relay to 3 t2 power diag systems and 1 t2 ballistic control, that gave me enough time to kill one neutralizing tower, warp out, then kill the other two with full cap.
After that i was kitting the BS's outside of their targeting range cause of my godly speed.
I could not have pulled this off with a Raven ... actually , except for a nighthawk i don't know what other ship could have done it solo ... *snip* - Image not appropriate for eve-o forums - hutch

-since the ship is so big it would not reach high and usefull speeds like 800 m/s -using mid/low slots for other modules then passive tank oriented would affect it's tank two times as much as a drake would be affected , the rattlesnake gets those passive tank numbers because of the extra slots -without cap booster it's cap would go down in 1 minute tops, hardeners would stop, death -with cap booster it would be able to tank the energy neut towers, BUT it's tank would be alot weaker, it would not have enough time to kill the frigs and warp out before the t3 cruise batteries, blaster battleships would start to pound, if those would start to attack = death -without speed it would not be able to close in on the neut towers since it's targeting range would be 8 - 10 km's , not to mention the targeting speed -with turrets it would not be able to track even static buildings due to e war -with fof it the dps would spread evenly to the various frigates, not killing them in time before the battleships would get in attack range, death
on second thoughts, a cerberus could also do this particular mission because of it's low sig radious and decent speed potential.

So the first taste of a level 5 mission is: 1) non missile ship = dead 2) non passive tanked = dead
hmm ...

Oust the Claimjumpers: 3 neut towers 1 web tower 12 bs loads of cruise missile spawing towers
its vs minmatar 3 types of dmg, thermal, kinetic and explosive. some frigs too but they dont scramble. 7 bs comes really close, 5 at range.
the dmg they put out is insane. im running 2 auxillery pumps on 2 Large 'reprieve' vestment reconstructors t2 each pumping out 1715.89861963 hp every 10.69 Sec. and if i overload them(heat and stuff) its 9.08 sec. And i can roughly stay in the rats for 30 sec's tops. the reps.. well dunno why they are on the market, never seen them before so my setup is abit dreamy. 8 neutron t2 blasters just to see if i can kill any of the close bs's. 8.80712765625 dmg mod and 5.67 rof on 8 of them but i can only manage to get 1 into armor each time before i have to jump out. all the rest of my slots are used for cap. 238 recharge on 9000 cap. but the problem isnt cap, its well, i cant keep up with the dmg.

ok someone that has run these missions. In preparation for TQ are we going to be able to use logistic ships to help tank massive DPS on some of these missions atleast? from what i was reading it sounded like some missions cause a new respawn where as some you were able to use a logistics ship without getting drone/logistic agro? Hopefully CCP isn't compeletely preventing us gallente domi's from doing them without losing all our drones

Now this is kinda challenging
Tried "Propaganda war" versus gallante navy, the target is a couple of sentry turrets defended by a heuge gankfleet
the DPS itself is probobly suvrivble in a t2 fitted EOS, allthough i never had a chance to try since everything didden't get close enough the reason it's a pain to do right now is becous of "energy neutrilizer tower 3" * 2 they efficently drain your cap and are fairly durable so they also refuse to die
at the same time your both sensordampend and warpscrambled might need to bring friends for this one :D

Note that rewards will adjust based on how many people do them and in what time - it's always the way with new missions.
Has anyone tried taking a capital ship into these?

If this is true, that you can manage these new lvl5 missions solo in a lame battlecruiser, the devs really needs to re-think and start to come up with some new ideas here. This is just plain stupid.
I can't believe they do this, I really can't. There should be no bloody way in hell to complete any lvl5 solo. Lvl5 were supposed to be gang missions, or did they abandon that idea too.

Well, Shield tanked Curse's and Drakes look like the way forward atm. But who can tell what this will be like when released. Get a tank and everything else is just gank ships.
Neut towers are the reason why nothing less than a carrier or passive tanked ship will attempt to tank it. --

Edited by: VossKarr on 14/05/2007 20:03:30 Did a "Stray Minmatar Carrier" mission yesterday.
It had something like 10 (hard to kill) minmatar frigs, about the same in cruisers, 6 or more carrier fighters, a bunch of battleships (12 or more), more than 10 cruise missile batteries, and a Nidhoggur.
Warped to 0 (dummy, I didn't realize I could set my own range) in a Nighthawk, passive tanked, killed 3 friggies- died. Went back to the station, changed my setup to an active tanked one - died even quicker but did kill a few more friggies.
Got myself in the dual rep Myrmidon ( heard the stories about its legendary tankability) and went back - that thing evaporated faster than I could say "ouch!"
Took passive Vulture - much better in terms of tankability but crap damage- killed a couple of fighters(those things take ages), died, went back for another one and this time warped in away from the mob to kill the fighters that would MWD to me. That trick worked and I stayed alive this time, killed the remaining fighters (which btw did 500 points a shot worth of damage on my uber resist Vulture) and a few more cruisers.
Once all the MWDing f*ckers were gone, I went back to the station, got Maelstrom outfitted as follows: All highs were T2 1400's, mids: XL Booster, Boost Amp, Sensor booster, 1 Photon and 2 Invuln hardeners. Lows: 1 Gyrostab, and the rest were Power Diags. Rigs: 2 T2 CCC, and 1 T1 CCC. Ammo: a mix of T2 and T1, Drones: 4 Wardens, Bought a full Crystal set that gave me 1800 shield per boost.
Warped in at a hundred, BMed, warped out and back in 50km to BM which put me 130-140 km away form the BS and cruise missile mob. I then proceeded to kill the rest of the mob which took me so long (especially the battleships) that I'd rather watch paint dry. Btw, the ship performed admirably, tanked like a mofo, never went out of cap and never had to warp out. I think it has the best chance of surviving this particular mission upon first warp in.
Now onto the carrier which, so far, had been sitting idly, not even targeting me. For this I brought in a full damage CNR, fitted with T2 Torp launchers (Bane Rage Torps),a mild shield tank and 3 faction ballistic controls and a Missile rate of fire rig, 3 Garde Sentries.
"Ah, a dead carrier", I had thought. "This will be easy!"
Yeah right!
Once I started firing, the carrier came alive, shieldboosting and NOSing me to hell.
"That's alright!" I thought " Keep NOSing. My launchers don't need any cap to kill you, mofo" Ugh-huh!
Once that thing was at half shield, which coincided with my being out of cap, 6 or so cruise missile sentries re-spawned and a bunch of fighters were released.
Sneaky f*ck!
I GTFO'ed outta there in a hurry with only 30% of the shield remaining.
The mission was to kill the carrier. Even though I failed to do that, it said "Mission objectives completed" so I was able to end it.
Thus ended my first encounter with lvl5 missions. A bunch of ships lost. About 16 mil worth of Minmatar tags collected (yeah I did loot and salvage, out of curiosity), 3300LPs gained. Salvage was disappointing, most wrecks didn't have anything and the few ones that did were probably my own blown up ships and netted only a couple of items each.
