Well I have seen alot of talk in here about a new server or resetting. Well resetting is a bad idea but a new server with new gaming structure would be great. Just here me out and then attack.
1. Make the server race specific and then develope your corp with in that race. It would be fun to see race vrs race only fights. This would promote some real RPG effect. You could have all kinds of checks for TKing like grief points and such that lock your charcter if you decided to TK.
2. Make the server all 0.0 except a sancturary of about 4 systems with a market and no astriods or resources.
3. Then the story line would mean something and the fighting would be great.
4. Allow players to transfer ther charcter to this sevrer at a percentage tranfer rate that can go no higher then 20 mil total. Or something like that.
I have more to add but no more time on break. Now dont be to harsh this is just some brain storming idea. I love eve the way it is but there could be more.

And I don't think this would particularly improve the value of EVE either; it would just cheapen the experience as a whole IMO.

Funny, I've seen absolutely no talk of a new server or a reset by anybody of any authority on the subject at all.

Mine's in there too. Completely separate shards? It's never. Going. To. happen.
I think that a galactic gate to all new areas (with a 24 hour delay or something that doesn't allow cap ships/ freighters through) is a much better idea and I've been bandying it around all day. It discourages established empires from just establishing a larger sprawl and encourages developing from within and gives newer players a much better chance at participating in the best parts of Eve without detracting from the current community.
That's just me though.

Indeed, CCP have however repeaditly said that this _would not_ happen.
Maybe reading up on some devblogs/dev posts would do one good ?

This is a great idea DNS.... or should I call you ******. I suppose in a perfect universe everything would be nice and sectioned off into racially pure areas, then you'd know if you saw someone different looking, you could just shoot them.

all we need to do to add some fun variety to EVE is this:
Make designated systems right in the middle of empire 0.0, and have the gates set to only allow certain sized ships in.
So you have the 0.0 frigate arena system, 0.0 cruiser, 0.0 unlimited, etc. Anyone can grab a cheap ship and go there for some pew pew.
Make sure there's enough of them spread around to limit lag from too many people being there at once, and make sure they're all dead end systems so they dont interfere with any AP routes.

Now those are some real inteligent answers. Like I said the game is great but with everything has to change and develope. I guess the thing that I really am looking for is to see more race vrs race type fighting. Iam sure the people in here responding have work long and hard for what they have and I dont blame you for trying to protect and hang on but a game will die if we dont have new blood. So mabey a new server is a bad idea but we have a great game and it needs to always look at improving. Now improving has nothing to do with adding new content as it has more to do with devloping game play that get people hooked and new blood is itroduced to the game along with out cheapening the over all game we have now. I do like some of the gate ideas. Or maybe we can develope an area with in this server were race vs race only fighting can take place and we can allow the RPG aspect to come out more. This was only a brain storm post. Last time I checked this is a general discusion area. Please dont feel like you have to come and defend eve or the current game play just let us vent some ideas and we will go away unless you are worried the developers really read this section LOL.

You're trying to fashion EVE after a single-player R ******* PG game**. Single-player games are static in, you don't have any real choices to make, you are just reading a story written by someone.

I have been admonished to never say 'Never' in answer to a player question. However, I will say that other than the current venture in China, the probability of another production server like Tranqility opening is extremely small.

I would be open to a North American server and a European Server, as long as you were able to gate into both somehow.
Like, almost an expansion-type server.
For instance, the Jove create several massive jumpgates which are able to toss you halfway back to earth, to regions with no stations, and no jumpgates.
Only capital ships would be able to jump from point a to point b, locking in on cynosural probes that were fired several years ago in preparation for the expansion.
Players would have to build all the gates themselves, build the stations themselves, and it would open a vast variety of RP and exploration considerations, as well as some really decent stuff for those research and manufacturing types.
That, and it would pull some of the load off the current server and on to the new one.
Anyhow, just a thought. My only reservation would be that you would be able to access both servers from one account. (Switching back and forth by jumping from one server to another, even if you had to log off to complete the transfer)
