Need help!!!! (sanity at risk) Yours too!

Adaris Dark and Light inc.	Posted - 2007.05.20 20:52:00 - [1] Hello, thanks for reading my plea for help. Basically, everyday I've been logging into Eve and going about my normal business. However, for about 2 months now something very disturbing has been happening to my gameplay. Something that is slowly effecting my sanity in this game, something which is driving me completely insane! This : Linkage Yes, that is infact what I see every day. When I go to Jita, I see hundreds of people like this. Others are normal. But loads are like this. At first I thought it was funny, people I knew, friends and important figures were turning into what appeared to be Bald Naked Amarr Chicks by the dozens. Of course it was funny, but I didn't realise the true power that this would have on me. Two months later and it seems I'm at breaking point. I hate lag, cheaters, farmer and scammers, but they have no effect on me because I don't allow them to. I can manage that. I can't manage this. You probably have no idea to log on each day and see people as this, guys who speak about guy stuff and yet look like women, guys who pretend to be women and speak about guy stuff now look like hotter women.... its freaky. Every day it seems people are slowly transforming into this. And I am helpless to stop it. All I can do is look on with horror and dismay at my own sanity being eaten away bit by bit. People who have tried to help me have said that its a problem with my eve client. They suggested I re-install it, and perhaps download a new client just in case. I did. Did it work? No. You may say its a graphics problem caused by my PC. I would have agreed with you a while back. But then I tried Eve on another PC, a PC that had the best gaming technology on the market (yeah my lucky bstard of a friend works for dell), and did it work? No. So it seems it not a hardware or software issue on my side. It seems its something about my account. Its like CCP are trying to turn me insane so I end up like a mindless vegtable paying a subscription fee each month until I die in front of my PC in 60 years time. I am lost for a solution. I need help. Can you think of anything? Anything that may get me out of this? Anything to stop the encroaching tide of Bald Naked Amarr chicks swarming around me? I don't want to find myself bemused at logging in one day only to find myself as one, like my friend did. It broke him too, he is going to trash his character of 1 year because he can't stand the fact he is a Bald Naked Amarr Chick anymore, opting to start a new toon because of it. The skin tone changed, they all reverted to female, the hair changed, and they're butt naked. For avatars that are the right race they got a certain hairstyle but the rest changed. The angle of head, facial features, and direction they're looking remains the same. Which leads me to believe that this isn't hoax, the angle of head & facing among other things is identicle to blue. Uninstall your current eve and the delete the eve (or ccp) folder (usually found in the "Program Files" folder) to clear everything out. Once thats done put a fresh install of the game on and it should resolve this problem for a while (unless its on the servers end and specifically triggering on your account). This problem is getting unproportionally out of hand, and must be rectified soon lest I wallow in my winter of discontent or something like that. Please ccp if you have a heart help me overcome my problem. Isn't there any advice that you can offer short of Wranglers more than apparent fetish for BALD NAKED AMARR CHICKS? Ohh ok, so its not as much a BugHunter (Client/Server code) issue as much as its having a CCP higher up poking a DB admin to fix/uncorrupt your character entry in the database. BH's should definitely be poked to make sure it never happens again, but theres probably something someone over at CCP can do to fix your particular problem.

By testing out my account on a new eve client on a much better computer with a top of the line graphics card, I ruled out the possibility that it was a graphics card issue for me. (My friend who also plays eve from that PC does not see Bald Naked Chicks, But while on my account they were abundant.) I hope I showed you how this is related.. Please Help me, YOU could be next!

You didn't. But I have already checked if all chars on this account are affected? Because it could also be related directly to che char and not the account. If it is related to teh accoutn you could probbably solve the problem by transfering your char to a new account. But you would have to pay for it and lose the rest of time on your old account. But you could give this hint to your BH, to check if that would fix your char. Something tells me this bug, would be totally sweet if it works in counterstrike or other nameless FPS or MMORPG where it matters (wow battlegrounds maybe?) Formatted for links.

Well, After literally 100+ people sent me evemails trying to help I can say that those pictures you gave are because on character creation (or not) you disabled your depth buffer from Z to No depth buffer (esc -> graphics Menu-> Display mode settings). So at least from the evidence others have given me, there is a cure (turning back on your depth buffer) (unless you made a character like that at creation screen.)
