One day ago I was contacted by Righteous Choirboys, a corporation some in TRI know and like, a corporation who I have talked with on many occassions. They seemed like decent folk in the past, so we talked. He the told me that his corporation had a tower in the stated system and that it was hit by HYDRA and put into reinforced. He was not that fussed about saving it but thought that we may be interested in some capital kills. At first I said I would see what we could do but that i thought it was unlikely due to time. The next day i logged in after work and XxAngelxX had been talking to the corp and agreed to it and came up with a plan of attack.
A day later our fleet formed up. Our support headed out first while our capital logistics were put in order. Ahead of the fleet our scouts were giving intel on the enemy movements. We had no idea how many capitals they would bring for the second round, but we had managed to form a significant capital fleet ourselves.
Unintentionally our fleet ended up being sandwiched between the enemy fleet we were watching and a second enemy fleet consisting mainly of Morsus Mihi and Razor. A small fight took place, the enemy managed to land a dictor on our fleet and shots were fired. Both sides lost 7 battleships each and support, and they were ships we could not afford to lose at the time due to reports of the HYDRA gang nearing 150. After the engagement we waited for confirmation that the HYDRA fleet which had stopped moving after seeing us following had continued to move towards P3EN. Our fleet kept its distance and when HYDRA did hit the target system our fleet remained 4 jumps away.
At first only a hand full of capitals were reported, and they seemed to have reservations about a proper attack(we noticed the shields were recharging faster than taking damage and so assumed they had not entered siege even though they were shooting). After about 20-30 minutes of watching their movements it appeared they had entered siege. Just 3 Dreads and 2 carriers at that time appeared present. I will say that our capital fleet was around 25ish, but their support fleet which was almost 3x the size of ours was still of concern.
Eventually when we were sure they were in siege the order was given to go, the cyno was dropped and a dictor bubble was placed, our fleet then headed full speed towards the system from 4 jumps out. Our cyno pilot was practically insta popped which we really didnt expect, so 90% of our capital fleet was still left behind. Another cyno pilot quickly stepped in this time jumping in the whole fleet. We called targets and they were dropping rapidly due to being completely outnumbered, their support was called in but with the capitals and the large tower combined their forces could not deal out any significant damage, though I respect the fact they tried against such odds.
After killing the intitial 3 dreads and 2 carriers (HYDRA) more capitals turned up from The Makhai alliance, however their capitals had arrived to late to be able to focus fire on any of us and so again due to overwhelming capital numbers (and good tackling by Righteous Choirboys/BYDI) were defeated.
This was the largest ammount of capitals TRI has ever killed in any one setting and it left our capital pilots with a buzz. Having caused 9 capital kills for 0 losses we were pleased, but again I recognise that the enemy was outgunned capital wise and respect that they fought anyway. Local afterwards was relatively quiet however a enemy tipped his hat and complimented us on a trap well executed, and so we tip our hats to them.
Apologies for any inaccuracies.

It was a great show. Direct Intent and Blind Beavers Alliance in general appreciate the teamwork displayed today.
I managed to grab about 1.5 gigs of fraps from the fight if Tri or other parties are lacking material for some capital bashing vids.

Well written write-up and kudos on a well-executed trap.

Props to all. Most of us in the support fleet didn't get to see the main battle but had a lot of fun with Razor and MM before the main fight. Lots of fun had by everyone, and thanks to our FCs for a great night :)

Very true mate. I've been thinking about this issue, and basicly the only way to FORCE people to fight is to attack their POS, otherwise there is absolutely no purpose in PvP except having fun (and some people just don't find it to be fun, to fight an old school pvp massacrer without caps and super caps), this is sad and frustrating, I hope CCP will fix something about their game soon :( -
