Normally there's about 15,000 people online at this time of night. So you're sitting in a line 15,000 players long because nobody's on. |

No this isn't normal. Like any game, some times a patch breaks things the programmers didn't anticipate. They will have it fixed eventually. Until then don't worry about losing ships, its just a game. Its a game that is heavy PVP, your going to lose ships, thats just the nature of the game. You lose them, I sell you new ones, easy enough.

When I was new 7 months ago I was told the same thing, things would get better. And with the summer just in front of us you think its going to get any better, now that school/college will be finished. I'll let you make up your own mind on that one.

My apologies, I did not mean to imply that Eve is as bad, or even close to being as bad as WoW, what I meant was that I just see more and more of the same issues popping up now that I did through the 2 years I played WoW. When I started WoW there were no login queues. Then a little less than a year later I would have to come home, login, go cook dinner, take a shower, and then go back and wait a few more minutes to be at the character selection screen

I am getting very good at counting down from 5.
Now, really, how many people out there even use Eve-Voice? Okay, that's kinda besides the point. I agree, though, with the poster above: I'd prefer a stable Eve over all the frills that not everyone uses, but the whole cluster has to suffer for.

Can't get your money back but you can cancel your account.
I play this, WoW, GW, and some others, and seriously, at least games like WoW have hundreds of servers so when they do ROLLING updates, we can go and play on another one.

I know it's been said time and time again, at least once when any patch comes out and people complain about loses, but ...
Don't risk anything you don't want to lose on patch day. 
That, and set long skills training the night before.

But that's one of the great things about EvE: one shard. It wouldn't be nearly as good if it were all split up into separate universes. |

In the first 4 weeks of playing this game, it's had about 8 unplanned downtimes. And I play casually, no more than 10 hours a week.
I'm starting to think about stopping my sub, I love this game, but I don't pay for something that's always screwing up.

this always happens post patch i been on the game 2 1/2 years its always the same for a couple of days if your in a hulk u should know this
to many bells and whisltes like eve voice no-one wants i agree but someone must have thought it was a good idea sometime
updated messages in the log-in screen would also be nice but better they fix it as fast as possible

what irks me the most is how often this happens, and how often it is blamed on "hardware issues". giving a conservative estimate, ccp rakes in nearly half a million dollars every month in subscription fees (14.95 x 30k people logged in that i saw today) Now i dont claim to be a mathmatical genius, but I do know what it costs to go to a run of the mill electronics store and get "hardware" Seems to me that our subscription fees might be going to all the wrong places......

I think being less than a month old to the game i may not have the right ideal about it. But i will say this if i am going to pay $15 a month for a game to be riddled with bugs lag downtimes and a load of other problems i have faced including player killers just because thay were board i can find better things to do with my money if the issue is not stabilized and solved.

I agree that it would be nice to get the game smoothed out before adding bells and whistles. Regardless of how long anyone has played this game it's hard to argue that the down time seems a little excessive.
You would hope they (ccp) understand this.

interesting how the forums will be "restarted for maintenance" i wonder how many of our posts calling out CCP for the blatant misappropriation (my spelling is horrid) of our subscription fees will be "mysteriously lost" during the forum restart....

I agree, I am in the middle of my trial period and I don't want to pay money for something if I am not getting the full service.

well its been like this for 3 nighs now. maybe for 2 weeks so at this point i would say save your money till they get this crap fixed. i know ccp trys to get stuff fixed but this time they have died on the job.
