I won eve, and im misserable

Princess Trinity Astro Tech N Trade	Posted - 2007.05.30 14:42:00 - [1] I have for 3 years tried by best to be successful, and sadly I got what I wished for. I got over 5 Billion isk, I got top pvp skills and im miserable. I just lost another command ship which put me in this funk... I have lost about 5 Absolutions this month all pimped with full T2 and Rigs. And even with that I am amassing so much wealth by trading and reselling it doesn't affect me at all. The only thing it did was make me have to wait a few more hours until my corp mate logs in to bring me a new one because I cant enter hi sec. I feel like I hit a new threshold in eve, I got a command ship pilot with maxed skills and a very comfortable amount of ISK which is growing fast. I feel like I worked to a goal and nailed the goal, but now what? I don't see any new goals I would be interested in. Capital ships pilot? Im honestly not interested in flying a dread or carrier. I went pirate but whats the point of looting ships? Any loot I get wont have any affect on my wealth. If i win fights or Lose fights it has no affect on me. I feel like the guy on a old show twilight zone show watched a while back, he dies and he thinks he went to heaven, he is told he just has to ask for something and he will get whatever he wants. After a lot of time he gets bored and miserable, and then he finds out hes in hell. The problem with winning a game means the game is over.

I SOLO gate camp a lot due to some timezones differences in my corp. Lets just say NOS DOMI's SUCK, take that at face value.

An MMO is about players, it's not an excuse to waste ridiculous amounts of time grinding/scamming isk so you can go "haha, I have more imaginary money than you!" to all the other players (as many seem to think MMOs are about, many game devs included. Either you diversify your character and add Industry/Mining skills to your char, or you jump in a Capital. Dont forget you will need to use a capital ship in Level 5 missions, if you ever want to run them. If you definately dont want to diversify your character, that kinda cuts out a good bit of content (even if you think mining is boring, use 0.0 and add hostiles to the mix and it gets exciting!). The mining isnt for wealth if your already rich, all you do is save the mins, build cap ships and sell them on the market for even more ISK. Incidentally, Production is the biggest ISK-sink in the game, so if youve got so much money you dont care anymore, invest in capital ship component BPOs or Battleship BPOs and all of a sudden it means something when you lose stuff, but you can also rebuild stuff yourself. If you definately dont want to pilot a capital ship, there really is only one place to go, and thats to diversify your skillset into Science/Industry/Mining. In other words, if you don't want to pilot those 1bil/2bil ships, your char needs to do something else, ie. the choice I presented earlier "If you definately dont want to diversify your character" doesnt work.

What he should do is set a long training skill and go lose some weight. Thousand's of people make the choice to be healthy everyday - no reason he can't. Being "heavy" sucks - but its up to the individual to do something about it. I've had friends in the same position - it does drain ones self confidence. Don't feed his disease - get him off his ass. It may very well save his life.
