Ironic... or telling ... you decide... Eve is full of ridiculous smack from what I've seen/read/experienced. Of course, the OP probably needs to accept that his accusers are a bunch of 35 year old ugly bastards that haven't been laid in 4 years and are overcompensating, but still... it's odd that we would accept that playing a GAME exposes us to behavior that in real life would likely result in at least one person having his head kicked in.... Anyhoo, to the OP: take a break, don't trash your stuff. You'll probably regret it later when those other games don't fulfill your Eve itch. edit: because 'preview' never highlights the errors, it only shows the profound insight you have!!! (yes, I'm kidding)

However, the difference with eve is that you can war dec them and shoot them if you don't like them. Or find them in 0.0/low sec and shoot them. Smack talk is a sporting feature. If people are made angry by words alone (let alone pew pewing their spaceship pixels) then they have won the chat channel pvp. The trick here is to not care what people say. In fact a large proportion of what you have described centres around alliances. Some of the worst smacktalk I've ever seen in the game has come from young alliances. Smacktalk should be funny if it's to be done at all (though that would require wit). There really needs to be a campaign to remove the rude/impolite smacktalking players from 0.0, or give them lessons on how to be funny. You just have to grow a thick skin. important point: don't confuse banter and smack. there seems to be a prevailing opinion in Eve that talking to anybody, ever, constitutes smack and therfore a sign that you are a consummate nub. That's a bit ****y, it's entirely possible to have a laugh (yes, even at somebody else's expense) without it being the mindless smacktalk you all say you hate so much. never talking to anybody kinda takes the MM and RPG bits out of an MMORPG. this isn't actually aimed a the guy i quoted either, but the point stands.
