This whole story is sad, both ways.
Sad that Ginger had to go this way, scammed and banned, i meen i would get really ****ed of if someone scammed me for 8bil and then taunted me inside of a station.
And its sad for Miz and for people saying its ok and genious to scam and get someone banned, this is like mob behaviour.
The same people congratulating Miz are the same that come here whining about scammers and macro farmers, isk sellers and whatever.
Are the same people that claimed to have fought ginger but never came out of their 0.0 hole.
I'm not saying its right for ginger to threat someone, i just kinda understand his frustration, he felt dumb for putting trust on someone, and then when he wanted to shoot, "ingame", that person and couldn't.
You are really sad people, all of you congratulating miz for this.

Perma ban? That is idiotic.
Well, Ginger is a bad guy no doubt. But others are much worse and still happily annoy everyone and their cat.
I would like to suggest that he asks his banning lifted and 2-3 months or so. Maybe the powers that are will have mercy upon him.
I am not sure who made the ban, but he can ask always a senior GM about it and if this measure was appropriate for that situation.

I flew with Ginger for months when I was starting out.
I was never in Snowy but it was good experience and the pilots I flew alongside taught me some of what I know now.
A perma ban would in my opinion be too much in this instance. I've seen worse said in local and received worse after killing someone.... I hope I see lots more :)

As for the few people who arnt Snowy alts saying its too much that he recieved a ban for making a RL threat, let me put it this way..
I coudnt care if he tries to find me in RL, he doesnt scare me in the slightest, however this kind of threat may well intimidate someone who has kids etc, resulting in stress etc etc (should they move homes now or later?).
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Furthermore there were a lot of people in local at the time, some of whom are no doubt in the above situation and do not wish to expose themselves or thier families to a person who so calmly makes RL threats.
It is not the first time he has been warned and the if indeed he has been banned he should consider himself lucky that it was only the Ginger acount and not Crom's account as well.

I would ban you for creating the hole situation and making it lead to the mess it did.
You helped into making those threats as in you taunted ginger after robbing him, worst you knew how he would react so you kept on going.
And BS to your concern about people's families, you didn't show the same concern you are invoking now when you started the situation.

I play this as a game mate, when i lose a ship/pod/isk I take it as just that.
Fairplay if someone scams me, I'll be the first to conratulate them.
It wont happen though, because I have a clue.
I've scamed other people for more ISK than I took from Ginger and they have taken it well, sure they were a bit gutted, but they laughed about it afterwards.
There you have it from people like that to someone like Ginger who is comfortable threatening people in RL. The whole spread of humanity, all right here in this glorious world EVE.

I confuse nothing, and don't use that argument for your benefit, you knew how ginger would react and still you provoked him.
Its like, again, proking someone to fight, taunting and humiliating the person, knowing that he will react badly to the situation , and then saying he's bad for loosing his temper and smacking you in the face and you're innocent and victims.
EDIT: And one more thing, you guys are a bit dumb regarding games and people, this is a game, yes, yet you fail to have the intelligence and comprehension to

You canot hold a player responsible for the overeactions of another.

No-one would do anything to agravate another player (even pvp) for fear of the other player going balistic and mass bannings resulting.

what miz did was allowed inside the game mechanics, what ginger did was to threaten to "find" miz irl.
miz is a smacktard yes, but its gingers own fault for not doing the smart thing and ignoring him. he chose to get angry and escalate the smack, and got banned. no one to blame but himself.
(btw, i don't claim to know that i wouldn't do the same thing in the same situation, partly because i don't think of myself so stupid as to trust one of the best known scammers in the game with 8b and my pod)

Dionisius your arguement holds no water for a start ginger smacks like no one ever has before when he kills someone or when he himself gets killed, so if I turned round and said I was going to hunt him down in real life after he had smacked me you're saying he should be banned as well?
Miz is not accountable for Gingers actions, however if that was all ginger put in local I would think ginger possibly already has warnings against him or its another over the top GM giving out perma ban instead of temp ban.
