Edited by: Mogrin on 15/06/2007 18:30:34 So missions are about getting money. People mission run in their mission battleships. Mission battleships are often Elite with tech 2 and officer fittings, meaning nobody in their right mind is going to take it to lowsec. (don't fly what you can't afford to lose amirite?)
So out come level 5s which will only be in lowsec as some lame attempt by CCP to get people to pvp in their mission running ships. Well CCP this shows that you're out of touch with your customer base and it simply won't work. So either put level 5s in highsec as well or just don't bother spending time on them. _______________ Rokh vs. Hyperion |

Cool...in that case you go back to running level 4's, and I'll organize a proper force to coordinate level 5 missions relatively safe from pirates, and profit immensely. <sig> IBTL! IBDS! IBTC! 1st in a BoB Post! And other such forum tom-foolery. Join my Corporation! |

Maybe it isn't CCP who's out of touch :P
Something that living in 0.0 taught me is it doesn't matter if a group is t1 fitted or t2 fitted, what mattered is they brought the right tool set along - ganged warfare with complimentary skill sets and mods.

um, the lower sec, the more oppertunity there should be for making isk. It is the entire way Eve was based, the more risks you open yourself up to, the higher your rewards.
Really, it's not the Devs who are outta touch, it's the playerbase, who was expecting Hello Kitty Online.

Risk vs. Reward!!!
Oddly, I was right!
The more risk, the bigger reward. Currently, you can make as much running lvl4s as you can ratting in most average-quality 0.0. Lvl5s are going to be some serious cash- they should no more be risk free than mining mercoxit.
And as a nice finishing bonus- what exactly IS there in low sec? Currently, its the same risk as 0.0, with similar rewards to high-sec (RvR turned on it's head). This will - FINALLY - be something worth going there for.
And if you don't want to go to low-sec, nothings stopping you staying at home. Nothing is being removed from high-sec- just new stuff added to low. --------

You do realize that lvl5 missions will need Cap ships in order to be completed, or some of them will, in any sort of timely manner. And i hope that you know that Cap ships, except the Freighter, can't go in 0.5 and up.
The logical conclusion of the above facts is that lvl5 missions can only be located in low sec., where dreads and carriers can operate.
Just my 0.02ISK.

nobody will have problems with the level 5 missions, the problem will be the pvpers preying on mission runners.
By simple law of averages, highsec level 4s will be more profitable than lowsec level 5s unless level 5 profits are so ridiculously high that people stop mining altogether. _______________ Rokh vs. Hyperion |

I'll be honest with you, i don't do missions. I even don't dwell in Empire, i just come from time to time to sell good loot and buy some new ships/BPOs. I feel strange when i look at local and see all them neutrals.
But tbh i don't see what the problem with running mission in groups will harm you, 1x Uber Res tank, 1x Logistics Ship for rep.(Carriers+Triage Mod maybe to be used as both of thouse), 2-3x Damage dealers and a Looter, it's not that though to plan out, carrier will escort your groupe around and if piwats attack he can instantly repair you with triage mod on, while you give the Ibel Piwats a new hole in the buttocks.

Well i'm not gonna say it will be good or bad just yet, there are allready people running mish in low sec, but L5's are a completely different ballgame i think, u need to do them in groups which means the profits made might get seriously diluted, also u will prolly need guards with pvp setup to take care of any incomming baddies.
I'm just afraid L5's will become the domain of bigger corps (or even alliances) who have the means to shut off an entire system so pirates won't have a chance so they can send in their missionrunning workparties to make even more isk.
I do think it's ironic when people attack hi sec dwellers about making easy cash while in the meantime certain groups of 0.0 dwellers can make (prolly even more) cash just as easily and safely cuz there in a closed off section of 0.0.
Anyways ccp tried to force people in low sec many a times and always alway failed, they are tenacious though but i do wish they would give it a rest allready.

Heh.. I was just going to post something along those lines.. With cap ships able to enter them I think all the level 5's will simply be camped by the BoB/Goon crowd if the isk stream is big enough..

lol boy do you have it wrong......
seriously you guys have it to easy mission running in high sec as it is. systems like motsu are far to over populated by isk hording farmers.
from a carebear point of view you should know how to set up warp allignment so you can warp out if needed already and if not then you've either got a very pimped mission raven or you lose them 24/7.
anyways to clarify things, CCP is not trying to force the eve community to pvp, their slowly nudging people to move away from empire. there probably expecting the main mission systems for lvl 4's to end up like jita. do you think you can handle that lag while trying to do a mission with around 600 people in local doing the same? anyways heres a little info just incase you missed it
LVL 1 - LVL 4 missions = high sec LVL 5 = low sec LVL 6 = 0.0
are you going to whine about lvl 6 missions being in 0.0 when they come?
Originally by: Zaphod Jones If you caldari mission running torp spamming little toe rags can't get themselves into low sec once in a while you don't deserve the agents, personally I think that all level 4's should be in low sec
agreed tbfh.
also your whining about the missions being in low sec wont change a thing. you wana stay in high sec then do lvl 4's, if you got the balls then jump into low sec and do lvl 5's and reap the benifits. when lvl 6's come out be prepared to be either ganked or pay a toll fee ---------------------------- BOB 4 LIFE NOT JUST 4 A DAY ----------------------------

Truth be told, I'd actually feel safer running missions in 0.0 than in lowsec...
In lowsec, you're almost assured that an average rat gang has a snooper out looking for you because of the epeen strokage gankers get out of sticking it to the mission runners, where in 0.0, most of the lazy buggers just sit on a gate.

Indeed. I've made quite a bit of isk from running missions in lowsec and even 0.0. It's also nice and quiet and lagfree.

It doesn't close itself off on it's own, you know. Its ruddy hard work, involving a lot of people. Why is it "really hard" for Empire dwellers to lock down a system, but "easy and safe" for a 0.0 group to do the same thing?
And as I've already said, in most average-quality 0.0, you make about the same ratting as you do running level 4 missions in high sec, all things considered. And thats if you can get your loot to sell (competing against 100x exactly the same named loot), and not taking in to account the massive costs associated with running a 0.0 infrastructure that is patently free in Empire. --------
