The basic of this is simple.
When you get out of work you want to chill out not to be stressed out again.
Yes this game is mathematically genious and grapically awsome. A pure marvel of human creativety.
Yet, when I get home after some pure marvel of human creativety I want to chill out also and get into some simple maths.
This game got into some intrecacies I wont follow anymore as a worker.
Kings invented games to chill out because they had time. Then there was checkers, dames, game of go yet all civisation had their chill out delicacies. When you have time you play and get some out reality into a game.
Games are meant to be fun and simple. Just a simple way to chill out into an opponent into a simplified environment for some short time.
Now you guys in CCP crossed some borders into real life and play. You can attrack peeps that have alot of time to waste but I am a worker and with some limited time to chill out on work schedule I do need to chill out and wish to.
I aint a king and dont have to be one to be happy in a game to chill out.

He's saying he lives in a country where the working class simply don't have the time and energy to play EVE. I know of one at least where working class means 2-3 jobs so I can see what he's getting at.

Good luck finding a game you like ;)
Your view of eve is 100% spot on. Its not a simple game, and its definitely a niche market that caters to certain people ;)

As much as I hate to say it this is the case with most MMORG's. They are set up to take vast amounts of time.
Some are simplistic but they are still time based.
To be honest if I don't have the time or the wish to be very socialable I will play a stand alone game.
A stand alone game allows you to stop and pause where you wish and continue on the next day or week and nothing will have changed when you last saved the game.
If your RL requirements do not allow enough time for you to play EVE consistently or you just don't feel relaxed then EVE is NOT for you.
I can think of lots of MMORG's and stand alone games that are not for me.
It is a personal choice and best of luck on your next endeavor.
P.S. - check out this site, Orbiter - A free space flight simulator The simulator can be lots of fun

I could correct all english mistakes if that was an opinion.
Yet I do beleive my words where understanble yet not totally english like. The core of my words are understanble. I could get my words into french if you can bare this but I wont and no need to be because the main object of the message is readeable and understanble.
Sorry my poor english I aint one and dont want to be one.
Hope that last sentence got into clear understanding.

eve is as simple or complex as you make it. it is simple if you stay in a noob corp and just run missions. it is complex if you get into the 0.0 land grab wars, and gang pvp/fleet pvp

The OP's rambling, semi-incoherent bad grammar/spelling post is one of the primary reasons I'm still involved in this VR "WORLD". It weeds people like that out.
If EVE were "easy" it wouldn't be EVE.
The OP should speak for himself. Not everyone feels the same stress, the same way, nor do they want the same things. Beauty is in choice. Have fun with the orcs.

Edited by: RedooM Meed on 18/06/2007 01:51:55 Just got me into more thinking...
Since eve is so involving, yet you need to make a choice into social, work and family and in general and life daily choars. You have to cross peeps who have some low standards of living to be in a game that demand so much involment.
That cant be psychologically saine upon exhanges between you and your gaming personnal environment.

Actually MMORG's are no different then sports or a night in a bar or any other type of social activity done on a regular bases. All these things require commitment on one part or another and the changing of your lifestyle to make it work.
It all boils down to time management and how effect you are at doing it.
If anything I find MMORG's help in the understanding of the world around you. Short of going to another country which in most cases people just don't have the cash to do. Where else can you meet with so many different nationalities and get an understanding of what they are about.
I have lived about 11 years in Europe before moving back to the states nd I can tell you for truth that people are really the same EVERYWHERE, they all have the same problems and concerns. Some are much worse off then others but if you get down to the core we are all the same.
I found that EVERY country has it country hicks or people that live there lives in the same town and have there opinions based just on what is in that town and have no understanding of the world around them.
MMORG's help people see some more then just there corner of the world.
It all comes down to adapt or die. Darwin's rules of natural selection even applies to the social aspects of modern society

ooh, the V for Victory series of games was fantastic!
Nothing at all like an MMOG though, but for a single player turned based games they were awesome. I thought I heard they are being re-released or something too.

Any good multiplayer game is gonna be incredibly complex.
This is because humans are complex.
And the best games are those that involve Yomi (knowing the mind of your opponent).
But not all games require the time that EVE does, so I suppose this is what you mean.
