Below the modules there is this little arrow that shows options if you hover above it. Under options is the option to toggle the possibility of overheating modules off ' lock overload status' its called.
If you can't find it let me know and I will go to ms Paint and take a screenie for you.

While i think the icons and graphics look nice, i too have a very difficult time telling when my modules are activated as well. I'd like to see a change as well.

Thanks Eris, at least there is the option to do that, though it doesn't solve the problem of not being able to tell what modules are active.

i was wondering what was wrong but as i was mining and not in combat last night it didnt matter to much, although i did have to cycle all my lazers to turn one on often enough.

That doesn't work when you DO want the option to overheat and just want to avoid misstakes.

I lost a perma tanked Abbadon with deadspace mods last night because I am used to it being able to tank the room I was in with no problems. The mods looked on so I went to play on another acct.
a little while later, *blinky* evemail attracts my attention and I am cussing. Those deadspace mods are going up in price and none on contract when checked.
So yes. I am petitioning this loss as a problem tonight. This type of crap shouldn't make it past internal testing. Simply put find a handful of the worst offending complexes and systems, and test the UI translucences against them.

I hate it when CCP makes me switch to another screen with my tank active. It's clearly their fault that I don't see battleship getting blown up, because it isn't on my screen.

Oh, yes, pretty please change the graphics for activated modules. Its not necessarily about using right colors, big contrast in brightness/darkness helps alot.

I don't know what everyone's problem with the green active modules is. I can see prefectly flashing on and off mods, at all times in all backgrounds. To me it is not at all different than the old UI, I even consider this better.
I can understand the colorblind ppl that are complaining, but the addition of modified UI is a decision that CCP needs to make.
Also to whoever offered them blinking yellow, well how is that different than green in backlight, nebula background taht nears white/yellowish/orange spectrum..
To me the current UI is good. Maybe Blue blinking will be better than green as I think Blue is more perceived from colorblind ppl's perspective.

Turn on "Widescreen" in the Graphics tab of the escape menu.
This will put a black letterbox effect up that sits behind the module and targetting UI for now until it gets sorted.
Temporary fix that might help, makes it easier on the eyes

We're lucky they didn't 'update' the font again to be even more unreadable.

Cool, now please fix the colors to be more user friendly.
I'm not color blind and would often have trouble in the old client using 'green' ammo like spike or plutonium telling if a gun was off or on.

Yeah, I can't tell the difference between,
red/green purple/blue yellow/orange brown/green
Currently I mouse-over the module and look to see if it says active or inactive.
It works.
Same here, colourblind as well. Always had a hard time dermining whats active. When i rat Id better place the overview before the sun or an enlightened roid to see if the damn NPC is blinking red or not.
Plz CCP use something like bright blue or anything REALLY different from the space background. For that sort of blinking stuff. I know red is a colopur most ppl see very well and that its meant to alert you on soemthing, but for me its a very hard colour to percieve on dark background.
There are charts for colourblind ppl regarding websites, would be cool is there were some for video games as well.

A decent workaround for now indeed, it helps.
If we cannot move the overview, CCP really needs to resize the module buttons, and/or be able to hide the heat stuff like you can hide all modules. Gang and drone stuff needs to be usable/visable and at the same time we need to be able to use our modules.
Did anyone at CCP actually test this new UI or use it in a real combat or carebearing situation?

Two things--first, besides nuking all my overview settings out of existence (again), this has been the smoothest patch I've seen in EVE yet, and the first time I wasn't afraid to engage in PvP or market transactions for a few days afterwards. Very well done, more patches like this please.
Second, /signing the thread. Not a HUGE gripe, but it is quite difficult to tell on, say, a Brutix, if gun #5 of 7 is offline for some reason with the new interface colors.

Not a huge fan of it either, although I don't see why it needs to be an issue. Can't CCP just give the option between using the old "white flash" method or whatever you want to call it, or the new one? I can't really see it being that huge of a deal to implement.

I almost lost my new CNR last night cause I thought me MLs were active and they were not. Sat there for a moment thinking "Wow must me new NPCs for them to be tanking my damage like this?" 30sec or so later, hmm why is the counter not decreasing on my missles? HEY THE DAMN THINGS AIN"T ON!!
All jokes aside, please CCP do something with this one, it's annoying, and dangerous to our virtual health.

Because everyone knows you should play this game alttabbed. You lost it due to not paying attention and it shouldnt get reimbursed imo.
