an option where you could make the module buttons look pre revalations 2 would be great.
no need to have something take up space on the user interface if you are not using it? ------ they removed the link to my sig, because it was to big in byte size. like only 50 to 100 bytes to much :( |

I'm glad I wasn't the only one have trouble reading the display.
I'd like to suggest that CCP open the interface like some other games have so custom skins can be implemented. That may help this topic's considerably. There are some good skinning techniques for people who are color blind too.

o/ - colourblind as well. Actually colour perceptive deficiency. Apparently about 5% of males have some degree of colour perception difficulties so im surprised we didnt have feedback like this pre patch from the test server guys. Maybe it just slipped through the *****s but I too would like pre rev 2 interface please. Also an ability to hide the heat borders/interface would be really nifty too.
Not to completely diss you ccp- just a few more suggestions to help make the good great. Peace WithinSo if the theory of relativity is true, shouldn't i arrive at my destination before i warped in the first place? Neon GhostYou do, but this is compensated for by lag |

If you can't find it let me know and I will go to ms Paint and take a screenie for you.
And if we dont want the damn unnessesary "weee, we are microsoft, we implement a new feature so people forget about the bugs" thingie in the UI, what then?

I'm not colorblind and it's still a pain in the ass to tell the difference. Please fix it quickly. Plenty of decent solutions in here already. I especially like the heat buttons not showing if you don't have the skill idea too.

Edited by: Grendelsbane on 20/06/2007 23:45:09 +1. Love the features of the new patch, but I can't see what the hell is shooting and what isn't.
While we're at it, why can't we have different shaped brackets for different ship classes - frig/inty/assualt, cruiser/HAC, BC/Command ship, etc., rather than very slightly different sized brackets. You can't tell one thing from another.

not colorblind at all, and i have a damn hard time telling if my mods are on or not. i think where the overload button on each mod is, should be what blinks to tell us if its on or not. that i can see well, but the faint glow, is hard.
i almost lost a raven last night cuz i thought my hardeners were on... no wonder i took so much damage. they werent on. but i couldnt tell.
make the module activation easier to see!! and think about the colorblind people!!! they need love too! even more than fat girls!
edit: also move the heat bar from taking up the space where the capacitor graphic lives. it was an ok size before buts its too small now!

The beauty of the old HUD was its simplicity, some of that has been lost. I agree with the author of this thread, please can you have another look at the module graphic design and colouring.
I was fighting a ship earlier and at a glance it looked like my guns had activated and it was several econds before I realised they were still off. Luckily it was a gank situation so I was in no danger
P.S. I love the being able to lock modules so you cannot drag them accidently!

The new module buttons are very annoying - i have to look at them to see which ones are active, unlike pre-Rev 2, when I could see it at a glance. Having an option to use the old buttons would be great. The other UI changes are preety much fine.

Another usability disaster ...

Erhm... guys, how you gonna spot the one that's not using ammo? Are you assuming all the turrets spend ammo at the same rate? Or are you sugesting to spend a whole bolley cycle looking at the turrets?

Are you deliberately mocking me? Nice way you treat customers. :(
Heat will be needed and a must for everyone that wants to fight, win and survive. It's not an option to turn it off. Having a clear HUD that doesnt endanger you do to stuff you don't plan to (thanks to poor placement and a big risk due to, among other things, lag and stress from needing to on 10 modules and off 4 others - or something similar - at the same time), seems like a natural request to me.
It shouldn't be a potential risk to active modules (and even worse, not see what is happening due to the poor colours) because of a HUD-change that wasn't requested or needed. Nice to ask your customers to turn off a feature that you just implemented and that will play a crucial role in pvp; a major aspect of this game.
I have a hard time thinking that you really planned to ridicule me but there is honestly no other way to reply to this you posted. First off, this new feature will be a must for everyone that goes into combat. Which will be most of us non-isk-farmers-resellers. Second off it's a new feature you just implemented, don't you think it should be viable to use it? Should we need to go into menus to turn it on/off mid-fight to not risk our ships/pods? And what about the display, which was mentioned by the OP and what triggered me to write about that and related issues.
I just want heat to function and be viable in pvp, not a risk for me to lose my ship/pod because the HUD is horrible.

Change the backround of modules to black with also a black outline. This should help.

If you don't use drones, you don't get a drone UI. If you don't use Heat, why should you get a Heat UI? Green on green? Tiny portions of the module to trigger it? Tiny buttons to trigger the entire rack? This is what CCP came up with after extensive internal and SISI testing?
I use large projects also on the Mach.. not sure if its projects which have the most problem but as above.. when usen phased ammo.. on missions its a right cu** to see which is active..
