Yesterday evening BOB began a massive 70+ cap ship attack on JV1V. All poses were reinforsed in JV1V and some in 9-98. Stront timers were set 4 hours before friday DT . RA CTA was made for 6:30 eve time. (18 min before titan kill.)
Logging in and joining ts, straight away getting reports that BOB titan just DD a bunch of gs t1 frigs and is sitting CLOAKED at same position he jump to. At the same moment RA caps were slowly logging in , fleet started to assemble under pos shields in 77S8, then scouts reported that they got warp in position and that we have dictors ready to warp in and bubble him.
Cap gang started to form up in hurry, cyno ships were sent into 46dp and middle jump point. By this time GS gang was fully engaging BOB support gang and capital support gang BOB jumped to help titan, consisting of 2 ms'es and bunch of carriers. Cynos lit up and we jumped to 46DP. Loading grid: titan bubbled with 5-6 dictor bubbles, 5-7 bob caps near by repping him. Shraek primary, enter siege mode, focus fire, drones on support.
Goonswarm support pilots bravely suiciding on titan smartbombs, leaving more and more wrecks, preventing him from alligning. Lag spike on first and second waves on jumping in cap ships, but module activation stayed at about 5-10 sec, which was pretty good for 220 local fight. Titan was bubble with 5,6 sometimes more then that dictor bubbles at during whole fight, bumped repeatedly again and again. After GS/RA caps jumped in, titans armor started melting real fast, with hull going down in seconds as more and more dreds entered siege mode. BOB carriers and motherships warped or jumped out , leaving dying titan all alone...
Special thx to dictor and cov ops pilots for getting warp in point and bubbling titan, and Vaagal, who salvaged titan wreck for me.
Also to all our allies who was there killing titan and helping recharge poses afterwards.

Massive pilot error on shrike's part, an excellent and well-organised response from the RA-led forces. I don't think anyone can deny this was an excellent kill, if a tad anticlimactic.

Congrats! I must say that this is a breath of fresh air coming after the fall of 9-9 and the seige of Tenerfis in general. Flying with GS and RA down there seemed to just be a series of dodging DDs and supercap smartbombs. It sounds like these changes are actual going to bring some fun and balance back to the game. Well done RA and GS! Wish I had been there to help.

Thats the whole point. It was the first Real Titan Kill As the Pilot was logged in. Wasn't killed by some lame meta-gaming tactic. It was killed in combat. While the pilot was At the helm. Which speaks volumes for Shrike .
Which is why This kill will by the Majority of EVE be Noted as the first Legit Real Titan Kill ingame. Hence why everyone is giving props to RA/Goon . As Not only is it a titan kill, but it truly is the first REAL titan kill.

Fraps
Congratulations from all pilots of Intrepid Crossing [IRC] alliance!
Job well done!

First Congrats to RAGoons on the Titan kill. I'm sure you guys will have a woody for at least a week. As far as legit kill, well I'm sorry I'll have to disagree. I think it's unfair that the Titan can't warp away for 10 minutes after it fires its primary wpn. I can see not being able to jump out of system, but to just sit there for 10 mins is very unfair. I think CCP nerfed the Titan, a super expensive ship, to the point of unfairness. Oh, and just cause I disagree with the fairness of the nerf, please don't think I'm trying to take anything away from your kill/fight. From what I read, you guys (RaGoons) did an excellent job fighting against a Super Power like Bob.

Titans can not jump for the next 10 minutes after firing a doomsday device.
Im not sure where you get the rest of your information. If he didnt warp away it was because he chose not to do so.

Grats again to all involved. I have been wondering how this last battle will run for a long time..
Bob are in for some reel fun here thats for sure. This is going to be epic, u can see how much the goonies want to kill and the hunger to eat bob corpses. This time they have a rod of steel behind them who have been playing with skill and dedication looking after their space, they know whats needed and they have been waiting for whats coming methodicly. It apears they are ready for battle .... yarghhh
If bob take too long on this assult it could cost them more then they think. Im not rooting for either side but I do have russians in my family so I hope at the very least they kill evey titian and bob kill all theres but not there space.. and the goonies.. just friggen channel that agression and focus. I would after all u have been through be beating my chest after that kill. Having said that now is the time for ur best pew pew.
eve got a nice wake up call today.
kill all the titans, all of them but stash the corpses.

It is true, and it's not a sitting duck, it can warp off or cloak (molle chose to cloak but got decloaked by a wang)
From what I gather BoB disagree with you even after losing a titan to this, so, you're pretty solo with that opinion ;P Titans were WAY WAY WAY WAY too hard to kill before, hence why all the other titan kills were lame, and this one wasn't.

A big congratulations to Goons & RA on a magnificent kill.
To be the first to kill a Titan (who actually had a pilot at the contols) is very impressive. I'm hoping now people will see & use the titans for what they were designed for, not as a solo-fleet-killing-then-jump-right-out-to-safety-pwnmobile. I have no doubt BoB will be screaming for revenge but they face two very tough opponents who when combined should be able to give BoB a really good fight. I sure as hell dont see BoB using a titan again as Shrike did yesterday, the recent changes mean the same result would probably occur.
But in the end I can't pretend to be neutral I'm absolutely delighted BoB lost a titan and it being Shrike just makes it that much sweeter. WTG GOONS/RA!!

The amusing thing here is that wile the Coalition are circle jerking themselves they are still losing space and alliances continue to die.
I'm sure the Alliance would happily trade 1 Titan for the inroads made into the coalition. Whilst a morale boost for the coalition one can bet this incident and the general no class behaviour of said coalition (specifically Goonswarm) will do much to focus the Alliance on its goals.

rofl. A bit early to think about that, just because BoB lost a Titan after the patch, don't you think ? It's not that BoB was forced to bring out that Titan in that situation and then it was inevitable that it died ? It's more a case of 'S**t, that didn't went like planned ! Next time we do it different.' Nync has said it himself, the Titan was brought into this situation without real need for it, Redswarm took their chance, luckily the capital pilots were already logging in anyway for the coming OP, which was optimal. They got the chance and used it.
How this incident is supposed to change everything is a riddle to me. RA is known to use their chances, when they arise, for a long time. They did it, when they killed the ERA dreads, they did it, when they captured back CJ, they did it, when they defended C-J on the weekend, when ASCN sent capital support and they did it here. They play clever and use their chances, when they arise. That's how they play. Only that this time it was a combined effort of Goonfleet and RA. That's about it. Nothing new.
BoB is known for the same: Making use of an opportunity, when it arises and not letting it sllip away. In this they are very similar. Will be interesting to see, how it goes on. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

hay guys, how do i shot titan?
like this :)
grats Goonfleet and Red Alliance. You guys make an awesome team. LOL at everyone that trolls your titan kill threads with "zomg you guys have no class." I've been on SA, I know goons. Some of you are true douchebags, yes, but most of you guys are just funny, random, irreverent goofballs who are essentially good guys. Besides, you're called goons for a reason. If you weren't gonna be called "goons", you'd be called.... i dunno, sunday schoolers? Here's to winning and unabashedly rubbing your enemy's nose in it. BoB's certainly a formidable opponent, but you've proven that you're not simply gonna bend over for them. You guys show that winning doesn't have to be sportsmanlike, and the underdog doesn't have to be civil. It's refreshing and wrong all at the same time. I'm not gonna sit here and judge anyone based on how they choose to play the game, I just appreciate that you guys play hard and bring everything you've got to the battlefield (even if all you've got is a T1 Rifter, lawl). Besides, there isn't a major party in the conflict that can legitimately claim the moral high ground. At least you goons don't attempt to cynically manipulate the public into thinking you're anything but gamers.
Oh yea, excellent tactics on both the RA and OHGOD side. Suicide bumping ftw XD. GJ on opportunistically locking down Shrike and awesome job flooding the system with enough dps to down him. Goonfleet's knack for improvisation and RA's precise logistical execution won the field.
Looking forward to BoB's campaign of vengeance, should provide for more entertaining reading.

quick score board:
Number of Super power allainces wiper: Allies:1 Coalition 1 Number of Titans killed : Allies 1 Coalition 1 Number or unborn titans kills: Allies 0 Coalition 1 Number of massive capital traps: Allies 1: Coalition 0
There are other smaller achievments on both sides. But the overall scoreboard is not that unballanced.

. . . . . . . . . Not to detract from RAGoon's accomplishment. Again....congrats to RA for their precision & execution.
You do realize that bob pilots attacked their enemies titans AFTER they had logged off. Logging off and then being attacked is one thing, logging off while being attacked is another.
Well done RedSwarm, however I doubt this will hardly dent the BoB killing machine.
umm first grats on RA for the kill.
also just a FYI the D2 titan was attacked before he logged off. He just didnt see it and logged off anyways.
Point being you would never have killed him if he had... and your whole plan was designed around him logging off and you getting him while logged off slight difference there lemm think what the word is it has four letters and begins with l and ends in e...
Anyway gj to RA/GS and nice to see that in Titans are killable while a pilot is at the helm (even though I think Shrike screwed up royally to loose it this way).

At the time it was the only way to kill a titan. They needed to kill a titan, so they did what was necessary. Yes, it was lame, but the end result was what mattered - a demoralised enemy who began to crumble. Its not like BoB sit there thinking "Ooh, how can we exploit game mechanics today to be the lamest sons of *****es around?" They do what needs doing by any means.

Good job on a well executed plan.
The difference is obvious. And how do you "place" a wreck...it looked like those wrecks were the result of Shrikes officer smart bombs. Unfortunately the other 2 Titans weren't given the choice of activating modules...as they weren't online
Btw, it is nice to see you guys congratulating them though

Wow bob held off on the eve-penix waving for a couple pages, must be a new record.
But back to topic, grats to RAGoon on the First Legitimate Titan Kill. (As in, the first titan kill where an actual human being was logged in and behind the keyboard ripping his hair out and screaming cause he can't PUSH BUTTAN and waltz away anymore.)
I'm KOS to pretty much everyone in 0.0 right now (GO ME) so i'm not up to date on the latest news from the grapevine, but I must comment that its hilarious to watch bob muppets speak of their war as if its one-sided. I mean if you guys don't consider your war with RAGoon a serious challenge, then I'd give up on ever finding a real challenge. Also this is titan kill four. We're 2 and 2 for all time, and 2 and 1 in our favor for the war

So as far as i can see there are no spies in RAGOON or this particular spies are stupid, i hope it stays this way. Playing with spies is too dikless.

Congratulations to all involved on a significant achievement.
The next few days will be interesting to see how it all develops.
Quick question though - I noticed on the Knights of the Southerncross killboard, their version of the killmail has a lone Taining Corp Scorpion - doing second highest damage of the entire fight. Couldn't help noticing that he was absent from the RA copy of the killmail, a bug on the RA killboard perhaps?

Ok, I fixed it for you.
You know there are quite a few Titan pilots that still have their ship Shrike is not a Titan pilot (anymore)
Wait, what?
Yes, I kinda would have guessed that Shrike is not a titan pilot after losing his titan and that there are other titan pilots around.
But, how is that information in any way relevant to my previous post? |

Just so your clear, nobody was "placing wrecks" other then Shrike. He made a tactical error in just continuing to SB t1 frigates. It was a smart tactic to use his own smartbombs against him.
This tactic WILL most likely get fixed, in the next patch though, so that smart bombs clear wrecks. Remember, it isn't an exploit until CCP calls it an exploit.. until then it is the mechanics of the game.

Also, if he wasnt smartbombing the frigs, they would still be active ships, in the way of his alignement - so having masses of small ships there would work wether wrecks took smarty hits or not.

Since we were trying to bump him and he was trying to kill us he deserved it. I was part of the Frigate gang that he tried to DD and one of the first to die to the SB so it was his fault for making the wrecks.

It's like some kind of myrmidonian bukkake that imbues the coated parties to fight at improved levels. Next time you get intimate with yourself, finish off by standing on your head. * Shrike's Avatar was the third ship of the Titan class to be destroyed after having been fully constructed. * Shrike's Avatar was the second ship of the Titan class to be destroyed where the pilot was aggressed while online. * Shrike's Avatar was the first ship of the Titan class to be destroyed where the pilot was online when the final blow was delivered. * Other Titan(s?) have been destroyed while still under construction. (I know of one, any more?)
Sure, you didn't scan down logged-off ships (an intended feature of the game) but instead you exploited EVE's lack of a proper physics engine to prevent a ship from warping. Yes, you had bubbles there too, but for all you know, a warp had been initiated before those bubbles were dropped, and the ship was simply unable to align.

If they don't want wrecks to bump, they can make it so wrecks don't bump. That would be the logical thing to do, if they do anything that is. IMO if using an "exploit" is the only way to lock down a titan then it shouldn't be considered an exploit. _______________ Rokh vs. Hyperion |

and if it's true, then my position stands. A Titan (at 60 bil+) shouldn't be a sitting duck for 10 mins.
Because of what it can do and how it should be employed...yes it should, in my humble opinion.
I think a lot more thought and preperation will go into titan deployment, going forward. I also expect that above all others, BoB will be up to the task of adapting.

Do you need an excuse everytime you loose a ship ? Cause our titan pilots don't. Titans are built to be on battlefields supporting ships, and of course, they are built to die.
Then you can bring the cost of a titan on the table, but I would answer you : who cares ? It's allready replaced.
Now, we'll see who got the balls to move one on the bf.

I love how RA and Goons are congratulated for 'not metagaming'. I think THIS is the real 'first'.
Actually, you're completely wrong about the bumbing:
Originally by: CCP LeMonde
Two more Naglfars fitted with MWD's, snake sets and nano/inertia stabs will make sure the titan doesn't go anywhere by bumping it out of alignment. These will also deal damage but be fairly weak if the titan has any sort of tackling setup fitted.
Considering that we have Lemonde saying that you should bumb the titan to keep it out of alignment, I have high doubts that it is considered "exploiting gamemechanics" by Devs. No developer with any sense of integrity would advise to use any gamemechanic he sees as broken, instead he would be working full time to fix it.
So yes, this was the first real titan kill, done without using metagaming and/or dodgy gamemechanics.

First legitimate titan kill? Hmm. To me this tactic is not really any different than how BoB killed D2's titan. Did BoB flame the forums?
No.
Shrike may have made a mistake, or maybe he was just sick of flying a titan, who knows? Anyone who knows anything about BoB knows that Shrike's Titan has likely already been replaced. As well, Titan's are more of a logistical tool than anything else. They can't do jack to capital ships - the only thing they can kill are support.
And about the scoreboard...uhh.. Alliance Regions Lost: 0 Coalition Regions Lost: Pure Blind, Deklein, Branch, Fade
So who's winning the war?
I just like how Shrike and BoB stay in the game when their titan gets in a bind.
Let's see less logoffski's and less flaming on the forums and more fighting.

Maybe you should tell your 'friends' tcf that after they ran repeatedly from a 40 vs 40, called in some support from 77s and then proceeded to log offs. But, i guess inbetween all the backslapping and handwringing you guys do, you miss little points like that
I think it's always funny when people such as yourslef gloat over things ( like taking 9-9 then losing it immediately) , just makes it funnier when it's your turn to eat one

Uhhh, I don't know where you get your information...if you have taken a look at the influence map lately, you would see that nearly all of LV space is back under Allied control. So net score = 0 regions lost for Alliance and 4 lost for Coalition.
You guys got lucky. It was a coincidence that the RA cap fleet was logging on minutes after Shrike popped his DD. Let's not kid anyone, there was no plan at all to kill Shrike, it was pure, dumb luck.

The pilot who agressed the titan has waiting cloaked in front. stay on ts server and waiting so long that the titan pilot logged of. The moment he logged he decloak and agressed so no chance to defend it....
The rest we know.....
next question woud be
If he has "enough balls to fight"
why he had cloaked?

And now for my rebuttal. PREPARE TO BE REBUTTED!
First of all, how is being covertly aggressed as you are about to log off for the night 'not having the balls to fight'? careless, to be sure. But certainly its not the way you describe it.
And as to shrike being 'ballsy' and fighting, it wasn't his bravery that got him killed, it was stupidity. Nuking a group of t1 frigs, then cloaking. Presumably he forgot that the DD-then-cloak method no longer works because of the new 'DD and no cyno for 10 minutes' rule. How is that not stupidity? Oh ya, and no one's denying it was partially dumb luck. So riddle me this: how does that reduce the accomplishment of killing a titan? They must hve done SOMETHING right... or perhaps shrike did something wrong. You will admit neither.
And might I remind you that the 'northern' and 'southern' coalitions are essentially seperate entities, working about seperate foes. Did BoB conquer any of those regions? No. MC did. If you consider only the southern theater (the one in which the titan was killed) it's much more balanced. Bob has defended its space well, to be sure, but RAGoon is currently holding them in somewhat of a stalemate. You can't write off the effect this will have on the southern front merely because MC and pals are/were doing well in the north.
Your belief that BoB has already replaced the titan is quite delusional as well. The idea that BoB has a spare titan, a ship 80-billion-isk-without-fits-takes-months-to-make doomship just 'lying around' for shrike to jump in is frankly laughable.

I had written a long and in depth post picking apart fire's replay pretty much anyway, but I wont post it. Because, you know, this thread could then turn in something where people from different alliances keep on flaming each other for several pages and we all dont want this to happen, right?

If BoB had spare Titans sitting gathering dust to replace potential losses when they could be using them (even if its just to jumpbridge freighters around filling NPC buy orders), then that's good news for us because it would mean their leadership is incredibly dumb.
And newsflash: BoB's leadership isn't incredibly dumb.

I'm going to quote you quoting yourself just for kicks.
what people fail to see here is smple yet unobvious to those who don't or sometimes do try to put a spin on tightly spun stories to either suit or render inert poor judgement calls and/or rather legal but sometimes questionable actions by players with less then a coat and tie or outright simpltons or others as you or I may see fit to discuss the simple matter of the facts are not and could never be laid out without discounting sound bites and nutrients so in a nut shell what you deem to be correct might someday turn out to be false.
