Approach the gate and activate it? Don't need to kill anything, this whole mission chain you can blitz by just using the gate (1), AB-ing quickly to the gate (2) and doing the same again (3). --- in EVE - Idara |

I did this mission last night. All you need to do is get to the acceleration gate, you do not have to kill all the pirates. When you first warp in there, there will only be a few pirates, but more will spawn over time, so just head straight for the gate at once. Just ignore the NPCs, once you pass through the gate the mission will be completed.

I took a Probe ship, with cloak, and it wasn't a problem. The last gate is the killer. I gave up but another member of our corp said he made it with a Caracal with laid out T2 Shield extender, couple of overdrives and a afterburner.

first area is filled with enemies. I couldn't tank 'em with 82% kinetic and thermal resistance, but you only need to approach the acceleration gate and use it, one the second step you'll find less than half of them, at which point the mission is complete. You can kill them if you like or go back to your agent.

Did it yesterday
1/3 is hard. Did it without warping out but had very few agro on the second ship (did it with typhoon in main ship, raven fitted for salvage .. no weapon), think i was saved because of my "full drone" gameplay, let them do all the work while i was jammed :p. No triggers, the three spawns poped in less than 1 mn without shooting anything, global DPS frightened me a lot in the beginning .. but i finally could bear with it (i've got a typhoon fitted with many faction items .. so it could be quite hard to tank it all with named t1 or t2 fit :/)
2/3 nothing complicated .. just know that for guristas version you'll have mercenaries to fight, resists are slightly different from the first stage
3/3 a friend did the mission once, so i listened to his advices : hardeners are useless, only fit extenders / plates (there are no ennemies). So i fitted my phoon with
high : nothing useful for this mission
med : 3* large shield extenders named 1* AB named
Low : (took what i had in stock, or what was going to be reprocessed ..) 2* 1600mm plate 1* 800 mm plate 2* cap power relay 2* LAR
I ended with something like 13k shield and 19k armor
The gate is at 70km
First waves of damage are light, between 200 and 600 damage each 10 or 15 seconds With the AB, i got to the gate when my shield was down The big wave came at this moment, i thought i was going to loose my ship .. in fact this big wave deals nearly 8k damage, after that i was able to warp .. dunno if damages continue after the big wave, didn't want to know if another big wave was arriving :p

What's in the rest of your mids? 4 slots filled with...? Get a decent booster (I use Large Pith X-Type - never felt the need for XL) and an amp, put 3 T2 Kinetic and 1 Thermal (if you must, otherwise just use the slot for AB or smth). Those guristas that actually hurt you - ie BSs - do very little or no Thermal damage. Most of the stuff that hits you there is Kinetic - protect yourself agains it and you'll do just fine.
Btw, Raven has a 75m3 drone bay - 7x Hammers II or (better in this case) Vespa IIs will take care of those frigs if you manage to aggro the whole room. Sometimes frigs are the triggers - gotta be careful with the dumb drones
p.s If you can - get a buddy in a passive Drake and send him in first. Make sure he does aggro the whole room, warp in and while he soaks the damage and maybe kills little stuff you warp in and kill them all.
Another alternative - just use a shuttle to get to the gate and don't kill anything

I actually did this mission in a shuttle the other day
Just get to the gate and get out. The only time the NPCs could hit me was when I stopped to activate the gate. I was down to 20% structure when I left, but I got out alive.

Probably even safer in a pod

Quoting what I said in other thread, I did this mission 2 times this weekend. The first time I runned like a little girl, screaming for the gate. Too much bs's at the same time. The next time I told myself: "Be a man and kill that bastards!!!" And slapped myself in the face twice (slap, slap). Then with resolve in my eyes, i got in the mission and started to fly upwards, and didn't stop shooting until all the damn rats were all dead. I stopped shooting at 270 km from the acceleration gate. And then I smiled and said to myself: "Now you can call yourself a man again.".
The setup on my Rokh was:
8 * 425 t2 rails with caldari navy am (50 km optimal)
1 * gist c-type ab 1 * Pith c-type large shield booster 2 * ballistic shield hardner T2 1 * invulnerability field T2 1 * heavy cap booster T2 with 800 charges
2 * pds T2 3 * mag stab T2
2 * ccc rigs 1 * pg rig
drone bay: full of hobgoblins and vespas (the kinetic ones)

So, is the isk good enough to try and kill them all? or should I get in my interceptor and AB it?
I tried the shuttle but got popped 54m before I could activate the gate.
And I am alittle worried, I don't think my raven can take that first attack when I warp in(once they all spawn).
I would guess that I need to fly out in one direction and hope the others done agro me.

Edited by: Gaden Amoen on 09/07/2007 09:34:16 For myself i think its worth fighting. You can find some more BS worth around 1M in the second room. I lost a Dominix the first time because i underestimated the damage the first time. The second time i jumped in with a raven XL SB II + Shield boost amplifier. My supporter had 3 Shield Transporter+1 large energy Transfer. With this setup it was no problem. Think to kill the murderers first because they jam you and better do not try the mission alone. I had a completet T2 Tank on my raven and the damage was really worrien until my supporter arrived.
The other times i did the mission in a vigil + Shield extender+ plating + overdrive injectors.

thats almost exactly what i did. I warped in and started taking mass agro and thought WTF BBQ but i struggled on and slowly removed any threat to the ship. the second pocket i thought i wonder how fun this could get, so i aligned and took them all out then warped back to the agent.
now i just leg it to the gates and complete the missions asap. 3x quick missions with no fear of loss.

One of the problems is people's blind reliance on those damage type lists that everyone sports in their bios.
Don't fit 1 kin + 1 thermal for Guristas for god's sake! The vast majority of Gurista damage is kinetic missile spam, regardless of what any viral copy & paste bio list says.
(I saw one such bio list that suggested you should use EM for taking down Guristas' shields and Explosive for their armour. Lol. Did I mention this was in the bio of an official help channel ISD helper? )
Find out for yourself what damage those rats do, and fit accordingly. Don't trust 2nd-hand info...75% of people in this game have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

I've ran the Angel version of this mission in my shield tanked Maelstrom. I had 85%/87% exp/kin resists as thats the mass majority of the damage dealt. I warped it, fired up my tank with the intention of killing everything. As the last group spawned i CTD'd. Thankfully i warped out and logged back on and headed straight back in. My large booster II was boosting 448 shields per cycle almost constantly and my tank was failing. Thankfully my 800mm autocannon II's can hit anything out to 30km and all the ships were between 10-20km so i was popping a battlecruiser every 6-7 seconds and letting my Hobgoblin II's pop the 4 inties.
I've since upgraded to an XLII tank repping 1122 shields per activation (without crystals) so the next time i run it it will be interesting :) -----------------------------------

This is incorrect, each blast actually consists of 4 blast, one for each resist, so fit an omnitank and you'll be fine. Did it with an Absolution with no plates, just a hardener for each resists and one EANM, hardly dented me armor.

Fit an omnitank for 3/3. And an afterburner. The faster you get through the gas cloud the better off you will be.
For Part 1, a Drake to soak up the damage is a great help. My wingman flies a Drake in, gets aggro and I come in with my Megathron to kill everything big. Good bounties.

Your problem is your not kiting. You NEED a 100mn afterburnur II and good nav skills. With these two together as soon as you hit the mission you begin afterburning away. This way you utilize your ravens range. I am a nublet in the raven but with this tactic i can solo almost any lvl 4. Don't just try to brute force it.

Confirmed, the first 2 levels can be done with any fast ships under 5 minutes, interceptor/shuttle.... The 3rd part however requires something with more than 3000 hp, but its a cake walk as well.

Just did this mission sequence. Honestly, the best thing for the first two missions is a ceptor. I used a Taranis with an AB, a couple overdrives, and a damage control. The only time I got touched was at the end of the second mission, where a buttload of enemies spawn right as you finish. Took me to half armor before I could warp out.
Honestly, the last part is the easiest. Just take whatever missioning ship you usually tank in, throw an omni tank and an AB on it, and go to town. My dominix laughed off everything with one rep. ----------
