Edited by: Tyria Evenstar on 18/01/2004 12:01:52 I figured we need a place for all the things in the game that the players –or just plain common sense- can see that need fixing or balancing, and thus far haven’t been. It’s a place where anyone can contribute (and I want others to contribute), and all sensible list additions are very welcome.
• Fix Caldari ships – Either make them more speedy and manoeuvrable than at present -as they are written up as being in the character creation screen-, with the locking times and getting targeted times they have currently, or balance both in regards to the other race’s ships stats. Don’t keep both as they are now.
• Give 2 bonuses for cruisers – Why oh why aren’t there 2 bonuses for cruisers, where there is for every other ship in the game? Very wrong.
• Fix current bonuses for cruisers – e.g. 5% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret optimal range per lvl for the Caracal? Give me a break, that’s rubbish. A 5% bonus to missile launcher capacity per lvl would be much more fitting.
• Put all tech1 BPs on the market – Pretty self-explanatory, tech2’s coming down on all of us, and yet not all of the tech1 BPs have been released yet.
• Give a use to all the ‘useless’ modules – All those could-be-good but naff modules out there need a use. Things like damage control, inertia stabilisers, reinforced bulkheads, nosferatu etc.
• Put in the missing railguns – There isn’t a 2x damage variant railgun for Cruisers or Batleships yet, even though frigates have them - the 125mm Railgun. Not having them in severely limits a railgun-user’s cruiser or battleship weapon load out options.
• Fix laser damages – Lasers without crystals in them get a damage nerf – just look at the stats. Either make lasers have to have crystals in them, and make a new, non-range modifying one with damage stats akin to Depleted Uranium or Lead, or boost the non-crystal-equipped laser damage.

• Fix cruise and torp missile costs – The requirement for mega and zyd in some of the high-end missiles is unacceptable, esp as these weapons have a big chance of being destroyed before hitting a target.
• Make shuttles faster – Shuttles have now been out-classed in speed by many afterburner and all mwd-equipped ships. Increase base speed to 1km/sec, warp speed to 6 au/sec and improve their warp drive efficiency to make travel in them faster.
• Fix model errors – Fixing the various model errors with the Omen, the Blackbird the Scorpion and the Minmatar Sentry Gun needs to be done (and any others I may have forgotten).
• Show all ship masses when infoing a ship – Not all ships have this stat present on their info page, and it should.
As I said, any player additions/replies (or even, lol, dev response) is welcome.

... If i recall right there was quite a complete list compiled by players, short before the Castor patch went live, posted in the Patch Review section of all places... figures the devs would never hear of it and have to be told again -.^

There's a lot of bug fixes that need to be done first, imo.
Station hugging needs to go away. Change in progress needs to go away. Corps with share issues/unusable ceo's need to be fixed.
Copied from the bug/workaround post from Sam's post, currently on page 4.
local chat bug : when passing a few systems and talking in each, will cause you to not be able to speak anymore in local. The amount of systems it takes before it gets bugged seems random. This bug has been there since I started playing exactly 5 months ago. Very very annoying when you're trying to explain to a guy shooting you in 0.0 that you're actually friendly.
When charting a course, and hitting autopilot, sometimes the gates are yellow (showing where you have to go), but most of the times they are white. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not supposed to happen but I think this was supposed to make it easier while travelling.
Travel was supposed to be gate to gate, I thought I've read that somewhere ? I still end up at stations, which I like better because my missions go faster. Can be very annoying if you're not supposed to be in that system and have to switch of autopilot because you're stationhugging.
The session change in progress screen : The operation you have requested could not be performed because another session change is already in progress, and doing so would only cause problems. Please wait, or if all else fails, restart the client and reselect the character. Very annoying. Someone pointed out, it's good to see what's wrong. I suspect this has something to do with either bad memory management or lack of hardware to support this game and it's databases. We never had this popup untill the Castor patch. I also never had to dock three times before the station accepted my docking request (and I get the same popup while docking).
Joining a gang kills your drone command window. When you are mining and you join a gang your drone window disappears and you have to get all the drones manually. This ties the local chat bug for most annoying bug 1st place.
Doing splash damage to gates in 0.0 space while using lasers ??? I still don't get this one ? Maybe it's not a bug, but I lost an arma this way. Someone was firing rockets at me, while I only had lasers to shoot back with. The gate said I couldn't jump because I did splash damage ???? Maybe the message should be re-written or made clearer ? How do I do splash damage while using lasers ?
The gates in Yulai and New Caldari still don't seem to be fixed. I think this has already been reported.
Sometimes the autopilot just stops ??? This happened in a few other patches as well, seemed fixed but it's back :S
refitting your ship from mining to fighting or vice versa will cause you not to be able to put all the same ( !!!! ) modules back in. Restarting solves this. It seems the bonuses that your (engineering and electronic) skills give are removed when equipping your ship with a new setup. Relogging for the local chat bug and this bug takes up to 10% of my playing time now........
The attributes visual bug is still there or back. When switching between ships, your attribute points are reset, not showing the correct learning time for skills. Annoying as well.....
If I had my cargo open while docking it would stay opened inside the station. This doesn't work anymore ?
The gangster not in system bug when trying to warp to someone in gang in the same system.
The "person already has an invitation to the gang bug", which ends up with you having to restart the gang.
None of the changes you make in the Shortcut Settings gets saved.
**I would hope some of these get attention, before Caldari bs's do!**

hehe i copied that list last week and added some more missing bp's. put it forward to TomB/BH Eight, afaik they have been added to chaos. |

I'm ( as a hauler ) missing cargo expander 1 BP's and also the Giant cargo container BP's I believe a tech 2 cargo expander BP is rather useless when there isnt even a tech 1 available

*fix the typhoons right-rear section, u can see through the hull so it looks flat. drive a typhoon for a day and u know what i mean.
*fix the minmatar symbols on the armageddon in dock (still there) and i believe they are on the arbitrator as well.
*right side dorsal gun on the maller is to far forward and floating in space (fricken annoying to look at).
*make the scorp its normal size, or fix the description or sumthing.
*make better descriptions for the minmatar battleships, its just plain pathetic right now.
*un nerf the caldari ships scanning and movement wize. the caldari race is supposed to have the best scanners 
there have to be more problems with ship modeling, but im drawing a blank right now

Always nice to read "has been fixed on Chaos", I'd much rather like it to be fixed on TQ.
What's the trouble in putting those fixes in a mini-patch for TQ? I want my stats back on my Mods (overdrives, nano's, stabilizers). Castor's been up for ~1 month and still no fix on that while it's supposedly been fixed on Chaos for a while now.

(or something similar). I'll second the Thorax and Megathron fix. To spend over 100m on a Megathron and have it look so bad is a crime

join gang camera bug - when you join a gang, sometimes the camera freaks out. It will zoom in/out towards your ship, but the camera target switches to one of the other gang memebers. When the gang member leaves, the camera goes back to normal, but the gang member's ship model is stuck to your own. .

I dunno 100% about this but TomB's job is not to fix every issue in game ? thought he was the balance guy for Mods and weapons ?
perhaps a better place for this .. known issues or the idea Lab ?

He does the ship balancing as well. All my suggestions were to do with with ships, weapons, modules or model errors - and thus under TomB's sphere of influence, and viable for this forum.

The Idea Lab is pointless. I shall never start a thread there again. My inital purpose of this thread was to point out ship/module errors that are apparent to me, that need fixing or addressing (and in some cases are quite important, if not urgent issues). Some people have posted additions in the same kind of area, others have branched off into posting about generic bugs in the game - that is not my fault, and I shall not blame others for others having done so.

Devs read this forum and post here as well. (TomB mainly, and he's the only one this thread really concerns) To post in the Ideas Lab would ruin any chance of receiving a reply from CCP, which is part of my overall aim.
Therefore I do not care for the opinion that the proper Devs wont see any of this thread. TomB reads this forum. It is assumable that he has, or he will read my contribution. I just hope he does something about the issues that I, and others, have or will raise here, and elsewhere in this forum.

Blackbird is off axis constantly. Always looks like it is twisted several degrees to the left of center (most noticeable when AB/MWD are engaged and the vapor trail points straight ahead while the ship seems to be in a perpetual left turn). Not exactly a big deal but annoying.

When Amarr shuttle is cloaked the cloaked ship model is too large for the shuttle and is only half the shuttle model, which prevents smooth transitions.
Mining lasers still look like they are occasionally firing into deep space.

There has been a bug occuring for months where you will entry-spawn at the station you last exited from in a system - while this is not necessarily a bad problem, it's something to be addressed in the future.

Aye i noticed that about the Typhoon, its looks like the polygons have been drawn in the reverse order giving them an "inside out" appearance(graphics programmers will know what i'm talking about), check it out and focus on that rear section u can see the bottom from the top and the top from the bottom. -----------

I think trade goods volumes need sorting out, because a great many take up much more space than tech2 components, and makes moving them en masse a difficult task, esp. for some players that have gotten a great deal of them for agent rewards.

- when you select "dock" from the system menue but are too far away to get to the station in one warp you come out of warp, then the auto-dock feature happily sets course to the docking perimeter even though you need another warp to get there.
- this one seems also important: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=54889 - fix missile splash against pods (=accidental podkills/ loot kills), spawning the pod further away from the ship or adding a bit of invulnerability time. to counter, the signature radius of pods could be raised significantly. xxx Atea. |

Wars cannot be staged anywhere at gates with missles due to noobs or innocents either wanting a closer view or deliberately flying into splash which is SO lame. If a vessel is splashed perhaps you should be targetjammed or take sec hit but should not be destroyed instantly.

Down the list. Make a preset mod setup for each ship/configuration.
Would it not be great to have all you mods setup in a folder and you need your hauler setup and click your setup. We have drones for out in space maybe drones for inside.
It would be nice to have in station a menu option empty cargo bay.Now i just repackage but it would be easier to have a cargo empty.
This is fun.
Can I have a bot that monitors how much of an item I have in my hangar and automatically create a pre defined buy order? --------------------------

Minor graphical issues:
The engine flame effects dig into sections of many ships, It bothers me so much I usually zoom out from these ships or turn them to look at the nose, which doesn't help much when you get to your destination. ___________
Some ships have the minimum camera distance too close to the ship while in space, one example is the punisher. For other ships like indies, it would be nice if the camera would sweep around the hull of the ship, instead of going through it. (Extending the minimum camera distance on indies might not be liked by some people)
At least the Iteron III has it's camera central point not in the center of the ship, but near the front, it seems a little akward. __________

get rid of that damn'd session change window when you change ships and dock fast!  i know its there to keep people from being stuck, but when u got 3 containers of ore out in the field ready to pop or get stolen that window popping up can really **** u off. find a different way to do it or sumthing plz

seeing as tomb reads this can he please pass on. id like to see a change to bp's. originals blue, copies green, no run copies red. in addition to this id like to see the mineral efficancy shown in the corners of the bp/bpc's (ie material level top left , production top right). would be easy to do i think and would make bp's alot more user friendly.

That's fixed on chaos now.. you get a mssg like "You are still buckeling your seatbelt" but it is not a pop up box anymore, it's a status mssg, like the dmg ones. Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

100 is the same as a large, then you'd have to move the large SB CPU usage to 50-75, not a good idea. Maybe 175, or a skill to lower it, but nothing else IMHO.

Hmmmm... a minor niggle, but when you choose to warp, the entire capacitor is drained and then the ship attempts to align for travel. This means that if you get stuck on something, and have to abort, you lose the cap for the journey. It would be nicer for the ship to align and then at the instant of actual creation/entry of the warp tunnel to remove the energy, or have the operation fail because you have by that point run out of cap.

Here's one from back when I started playing:
When you jump out through a gate, the 'jump effects' shoots off into the distance. This 'beam' is misaligned, and always has been, on all gates, as far as I can tell, but most noticable on the chunky gates. It's about 5-8 degrees anti-clockwise (as you look down on the gate)
and some more recent ones:
Passive targetters require a target (!!) thus negating their worth entirely. If you target someone, activate it, unlock them, and target them again, they don't notice the second time you lock them. But by then, the gig is up.
Midslot ECCM units (ECCM projector I) also require a target. Seeing as they increase a local stat, I can't see why you'd need to point it at somebody. ECCM should be available to use during warp too, much like shield hardeners. .

Uhmm.. ECCM Projector I increases sensor strength of another (targetted) ship, not your own. It's like remote boosters/dampeners, just for the sensors. ^^;

Recommend this highly! And don't call the original bp's on the market 'Blueprint : copy 1' it makes it seem it's not an original but a bpc! know a few noobs other than me that didn't realise that especially when the info on them tells you nothing but the weight of the bp, (why would i wanna know that?????) i wanna know what minerals it's gonna cost me, etc. like when youve bought it!!!!

- Change the ECM-burst module or introduce a new module that works like the ECM-burst but is able to incapacitate drones within its blast-redius for a short period of time.
- Fix your shipclass balancing. A LOT of ships in your game are useless. The point above would be the first step.
- The cloaking effect can become bugged. Sometimes when uncloaking after jump your ship appears below the cloaked model which messes up the entire effect.
- Improve the escrow system.
- Add some sounds for engines inflight. Currently your ship only makes a sound when changing direction or activating ab/mwd. The game is absolutely quiet when you approach a gate with the music turned off. This is annoying. I want SOUNDS!
- Implement corptaxes, divisional wallets and improve the voting system. Why can¦t people without shares vote?
- Give us mass-editing features for things like standings, corpmembers, etc. Going through more than 20 standings, editing each of them individually is annoying.
- Fix missiles once and for all.
- Fix shipclass balancing

I've found certain stations, some are bugged in two ways. The first is when it requires several warps, when you leave a warp, it requests docking permission, very odd when your still dozens of AUs away. The second is when you select "dock" and warp to a station, many times when your ship reachs the station if fails to automate the dock and stops, making to reselect dock, both are VERY annoying when doing AFK travel or simple runs. - Add Tech2 ECM Disruptors, i think its unfair how there are Tech2 Sensor Boosters, but us Electronic Warfare people are stuck with Tech1 ECM Disruptors that dont even come close.
I understand these will probably come out eventually but what will we do 'till then? Sure you could load out tons of ECM Disruptors in a Scorpion to completely overpower them tech2 sensor boosters or not, but the capacitor needs would be incredible, you couldn't run them for any decent amount of time - not to mention you wouldn't be able to run anything else simultaniously.

Fix the wing tips on the punisher so they are not floating in mid air. The same with the guns on the left hand side (from the front) on the maller.
Give the caracal a missile bonus
Change "look at" in the right click menu to somthing else like "view object", so that "lock target" isn't selected by accident (that may just be me tho)

• Have only morphite available in Meroxcit; get rid of morphite from those non DCM-only ores that have them. It makes DCM useless, as morphite is available in ore anyone can mine.
• Have more DCM-only ores (another 3 should do it) perhaps including, for example, one that appears in 0.2 space or lower, takes up 10 volume needing 400 or so to refine, but has about 10 zyd in at max refine levels. This point, and the one above it, is to make DCM more useful in the game, not the near-useless skill it is now.
• Decrease the amount of space RAM takes up. 100 made sence when it contained mega and zyd, but as it no longer does, 10 is a more sensible volume.
• Reduce the amount of drone space and the volumes of drones by a factor of 5 for all ships and drones. Thus, scout drones would take up 10 space, medium drones 20, and heavy drones 50. This is because ships with thousands of volume specifically for drones makes little sence when compared to there comparitvely titchy cargo space. If EVE was rl, I'd put cargo in my drone space, because it multiply the amount of cargo I could carry to insane amounts, with some ships. Also, the volumes for drones are not a realisitc size at the moment anyhow: they are far too big.

drones optimal range and accuracy falloff is extremely unbalanced... in the info it says 1k optimal and 2k falloff for every combat drone, and yet when i send my drones after a corpmate of mine, they start hitting at 15k or more, for full damage. with the damage heavy drones can deal, especially with 8 or 9 together, frigates stand no chance against the damage being delt.. add the fact that the drones can start shooting you from 15k+, well, not much can be done except fly back to base in an egg. fixing this would make it hard for heavy drones to attack frigates, something i dont see as there intended purpose anyway, and would give a reason to start fielding light drones, which have a much higher speed and would be better suited for dealing with frigates. as this wouldnt even have to change damage, slow cruisers and battleships could still be dealt with using the slower heavy drones. drone speed could also be optimized for this, lowering some of the faster heavy drones speed and raising its armor and shields to withstand more abuse from medium and large smartbombs.

Implement a module that can enable you to choose a percentage of capacitor energy to use on a warp in the direction you are facing. Or allow for editable coordinates on bookmarks so that any location in a system can be visited without needing a nearby warpsite. Don't make it instawarp add a good long delay so it won't be exploited.

Give cruisers a second bonus, and whilst your at it sort out the ones that the ships already have.
Do away with the bonus to small, medium and large, just have a bonus to weapon type, it stands to reason if a ship can run e.g. large hybrids with a bonus, then they should be able to do the same with medium and small.
Give the carcal a usefull bonus that is more missile related.
Give amarr cruisers a cap recharge increase like with the bs's, amarr ships are suposed to me more reliant on cap due to energy weapons. When I can run a thorax with 5 mining lasers and a mwd(fitted but not running) constantly but, a maller with the same setup keeps running out of cap unless I remove the mwd, that can't be right.

I believe this is a basic idea (drone carriers) for the Gallente ships?
Hm... and why should it be possible to easily run from a fight by logging off? Make the ship remain in space for something like 10 minutes after logging off. That people disconnects, I respect, but the PvP system isn't quite working as I've experienced the aggressors/offenders constantly logging off as a significant threat to them arrive. If a player wishes to avoid a fight, he/she should do so by normal means, not logging off (which is just lame)
With all due respect of hiding cans in space (you might need depots in 0.0 that pirates can't camp), some method of slowly discerning a safespot need to exist for those who are trying to expel players from a solar system. I am currently thinking of the troublesome issue of defending a station in a system when the aggressors have a safespot. This issue isn't quite as annoying or in deep need of fixing than the log-off issue, but the scanner might need seing to when it comes to locating ships. Perhaps med-slot long range scanners? --

With the Imicus model there's a little white spot floating between the lower legs. (just go into a station, you'll see.

Small word about getting stuck on stations... this so needs fixing <still>
I have found that on a particular Caldari station (usually the Kaalakiota Corp Warehouse ones, the sort of flat wedge shaped ones) i get stuck on one particular configuration, and not on another... the details:
In an Iteron Mk V... Loaded with Cargo Expander 1's in the lo slots (all five), therefore speed about 100m/s the ship starts to wobble when leaving the docking bay and then gets stuck shortly after...
BUT with all Overdrive Injectors in the lo slots, and therefore speed about 350m/s, the exit is smooth and straight.
Could the sticking thing have something to do with a velocity, collision detection relationship?
Hope this helps... the sticking thing is really frustratin still, i think most of us have learned to just cope with it, but sometimes i think to myself 'i might never get frustrated with Eve ever again, just so long as i don't get stuck...'. Thats meant in all seriousness.

jup have the same stuck problem with a slow flying mammoth. it starts and then "dances" in space...
and when you undock from somee minmatar stations the "undock drive way" is sometimes messed up i.e. sometimes you seem to bounce out (upways) of the pipe or you seem to start to undock "inside" the station walls and FIX THE MINMATAR SENTRY BASE GFX!!! just 2 guns floating in space look realy dumb! I say remove the theatrics of departing the station. Just plop us out there at 15 km.
Make stargates auto jump us at 2.5km.
If the target of our missles are not there, the missles goes dead. No explosion so i dont loose my drones anymore.
