Actually this is kind of convenient you can judge moo members by what they post on forums. For example I¦m convinced that Ymev is not a day older than 14 (please don¦t come and say you are 30years old cause it¦s way better to be 14 and behave like it than being 30 and behave like you are 14  )
On a similar thought I kind of like negotiator he usually has a point and says it. You may not agree with him but he doesn¦t talk bull****. Paddyman seems to be a pretty sharp to.
The problem with pirates is that though some mature players become pirate for rp reasons or whatever than the proffession attracts a lot of immature childs. So I ask you players to see the "good" pirates (to name a few of my favorites, Viceroy, Drunkenmaster and Negotior) and don¦t judge all pirates by the act of few kids.

I personally find m0o posts amusing, and an entertaining read. Although there are a couple of members who write nothing but rubbish, I usaully take the time to read m0o posts.

fine whit me as long as they keep it in character and are roleplaying, however when they go into a "out of character" post whit the same "i 0wn you n00b" attidue like the mentioned movie post abowe they cross the line imho

After some decent and self-examination posts by the m0o guys jumps Synex in and pulls in the thread in a complete different and irrelevant direction. I can truly understand m0oÆs problems, but I would still like to see less of those attention hungering posts. TheyÆre dull, so incredibly dull.

It would be nice to see more of a return to 'good sportsmanship'.
Not saying who is guilty of what because tbh I've only ever been in the same sector as m0o coupla' times and nothing was ever said.
As an example though playing paintball. If some guy makes a nice shot on me I will be the first to tell him 'hey bud nice one'. The same is always true when I make a play on another player.
Maybe it's the fact we play paintball face to face and PC games are anonymous who knows what the catalyst is. But it does come down to sportsmanship and being able to lose and win with a little tact and class.
I wouldn't lay it all on m0o and other pirate types either. BMC formerly m3g4 have been usually very cool. When one of their members was getting out of control, one of his own buddies told him to chill. Maybe that is because although we are at war we are civil no matter if we are killing them or they are killing us.

Well, maybe that statement is a general... but I'll tell you about an experience I had.
A few months ago (23/7/2003 19:02:00 to be exact) I jumped into a system, and Stavros (at the time a member of m0o and still a member I believe) was there with 2 of his buddies, plus what seemed to be 8/9 mining drones each, plus loads (and I mean loads) of cargo cans were camping the JIP. Before the screen could even load my Armageddon was killed and I was in a pod. My pod was then summarily destroyed with no warning. I believe this was a 0.4 system - tho I can't rightly remember...
Now, my ship would probably have been destroyed anyway, as it was not kitted out for combat (and the odds were 3v1), but I would have liked a fighting chance. Also, m0o gained nothing from this attack (as I had no valuable modules on my ship) which is why I label this as ganking rather than pirating.
Now, if you don't call the deliberate creation of lag to impede the combat-effectiveness of your foe an exploit, I don't know what is.
Anywho, the thing that really tipped the scales was the reply I got to an evemail I sent to Stavros after the attack and subsequent podding. I sent him a evemail saying "Thanks for the clone-express, enjoy the biomass and thanks for the insurance".
In reply I got "bull**** u had insurance, u are a poor ass n00b with crap equipment.."
Now, if you really want to be pirates, at least RP pirates and stop slagging people off claiming they are n00bs and telling us how we've just been pwned by the l33t cr3w or something...
I realise pirating is difficult, and I appreciate that you are trying to create your own content... but there is a large gap between pirating (attacking people for personal gain) and ganking (random killing of players).
Now, maybe my claim of you exploiting is a little out of date... But your reputation proceeds you.
My advice to you would be to get a PR person... a really really really GOOD PR person...

Had you considered that the cans floating in space may of been from other victims? Also you say what looked like mining drones, looked like? So your sure of this. So with your evidence of 1 instance you feel you have the right to say
"there constant use of exploits etc"
when in fairness you have met m0o once got killed in a way that both pirate's pirate hunters and Alliance warriors used at the time.
Granted Stavros' sense of humor may not of been to your taste.
But all in all this is the exact sort of thing that is the problem. 1 person with 1 example who makes it out to be a constant and on running thing that I am protesting about. After 500 ppl read his post they then go off with the opinion that we exploit at every oppertunity, which is untrue.
I have just finished in a battle in Fountain which was the laggyest i have been in yet. After the fight all in local were polite and no smack.

Don't forget you are also battling the reputation the m0o members set way back in the beginning.
The lag fest that was created by m0o in mara/passari. In which cargo containers were found with 1 unit of ammo in them. In fact Ywev I believe it was admitted that they deployed them (although in his words to make it hard to target).
The intention by certain corp members has been one of contempt, not only for the game but other players. In fact in reading their posts etc.. one almost percieved that they would be senseless gankers and talk all that smack in an attempt to get people to not play anymore.
That is what has come across as a public image in many cases.

Just to clarify: the statement from Synex is his own oppinion and/or experience.
The official stance from BIG is that we havent seen m0o use ANY exploits in the conflicts we've had.
In fact we just had a major lag battle which would have been a lot worse if m0o had deployed drones - which they puposely didnt

I agree, although I haven't heard of m0o using exploits for ages. There was a time when they (and other pirates) were dropping huge numbers of cans at gates to make it 'harder for people to target them'. In reality (thanks to the threat window) it did nothing other than induce massive lag. This was all freely admitted on the forums. Further down the road everyone (and yes I'll include myself in that) started using it - especially with drones. Like I said though that's pretty much close to ancient history now.

I believe in freedom of speach and believe that the Moo/Cow guys can post what they like. Just ignore em and leave em to play with themselves. :)
But I do agree with most of you that they have a serious attitude problem.
Every1 loves to be a winner and boast about it but please guys you pick every oputunity to give it the large.
I suggest you take a page out of Posix's attitude. He is a RAt that took my maller (During a mission and I was empty, hehe)but when I convo'ed him to say well done he was the perfect Gentleman and we bantered for a while. That's the way guyz. It's was fun and as others have mention you are a part of the game. NOT the game!
Play it and live it. Respect is earnt by others not squeezed like the zits on a pubatic teenager.

look the thing is some people think im cool, some think im a jackass. why? because im both. if after a fight people in local are like "yeah nice fight dude, fair stuff, sux that i lost my ****" then ill be all like "yeah man gg, i got lucky and stuff". but when some idiot goes "yeah good battle guys, u got lucky and stuff and we are teh pwn but we lost cuz u guys are all gms, but that doesnt matter, still gg." ill be like "no, u tardface, no gg, go screw urself in the ear with a *****, hawkay?" thats about it. i have great respect for slothe and Millenium, and i think our playtime is usualy very enjoyable. I don't particularly care about trash-talk one way or the other. I won't engage in it, since I think it's silly. But regardless, the sheer volume of trash-talk posts on the forums is a bit upsetting to me. I'm a noob, and I read the forums to try to learn more about the game. (What works, what doesn't, what's going on in the world.) I kind of wish there were less of it going on, on all sides. :)
