Edited by: Tibor Ferenc on 20/01/2004 00:33:27 Thats ok Dognutz, pls dont think we just make up our kills/losses we honestly do take our kill list VERY seriously and it is VERY rare we make mistakes on it and if we do (I can only think of 1 occasion) we correct it asap.
*edit* This was made before dognutz changed his post from agreeing with me.

Quote: Edited by: Silverlancer on 19/01/2004 15:32:48 Edited by: Silverlancer on 19/01/2004 15:21:50 A few days ago, a battleship covered with missile launchers fired a hoard of Wraith Cruise Missiles at me while I was flying in 0.0 space... he one-hitted my ship. He then podded me. Instead of sending a message to him saying bleep YOU YOU PODDING PIRATE IDIOT ALJSDKFAJSDLKFJAS" like a carebear, I thanked him for podding me so that I didn't have to fly all the way back to Alakgur to get another ship . He responded in kind . This is how pirating should be. The pirates don't act like total jerks, they just fullfil their role in the game.
And this is how we usually are. You don't get "hey, pooti was really nice to me in local." Or, "pooti was really humble when he wrecked my ship," or "after pooti killed me, I convo'd him, and even though EVERY SINGLE PERSON HE KILLS does this he took the time to be nice and chat with me and talk about pirating and offer some pointers." No, you get "m0o attacks completely ineffectual". You hear from the bitter people who start **** in local.
I hate talking ****. I hate arguing with people. I pirate because that's how I enjoy playing the game, and my game choices have NOTHING to do with maturity. I can't believe how narrow-minded some of you are, it's embarrassing. I've never instigated a ***** session in local. I've never taunted someone after a kill. I've never taunted someone after I've been killed. (Although I've obviously responded).
And still I have to put up with threads like this.
"BUT YOU GUYS BLOW UP R SHIPS!!"
Yeah. So what. Everyone does horrible **** in Eve.
Yeah, I know my chosen path in Eve ****es people off. And I accept that. But FFS, grow up. Hell, they're just ships and modules. Who cares. (Unless you're in ebayer, in which case, I'm glad you lost money). Funny thing is I that most if most of us were in any other corp, nobody would EVER bring up these accusations. We're friendly, we're intelligent, and as often as not mature. A few even have alternate carebear accounts that play in regular corps doing carebear stuff. But of course nobody could ever believe that! We're 9 yr old sociopaths!
And get off the "oh they must be kids!" kick. So far the ones I've seen throwing that around have been no more mature than our most infamous talkers. I mean, Miso? Come on.
I really love Eve, but sometimes I'm downright embarrassed to be a part of this community.

m0o cheat this, m0o exploit that.. If we exploited we would be banned. fullstop, end of story.
When playing within a set of rules one must always be pushing those rules to their very limit, only by constantly testing ones boundries can one become truly dominant at anything.
As for the whole l33t issue, l33t could be the pirate talk of the future, you have no proof otherwise, just as jade constantwhine talks in some kind of french thing, we could talk l33t to rp pirates. You can't say otherwise really.
TBH you did have noob equipment and if you send me an email like that just after we waxed your ass, making some stupid boast about how your supposedly better off AFTER we blew up your battle ship and podded your ass, then you should expect an equally glib and assinign reply. You would really have people believe that us podded you and killing your ship was actually a GOOD thing for you? Puuuhhleeassse pull the other one, its goes jingle jingle.
Your entire outburst in this thread is driven by one thing alone, your a goddam sore looser...

Nobody believes anything anyone says on these forums. Especially if they disagree with what they're saying and especially if the person says "I'm being totally honest about this." As if, if we thought you were lying in the first place, that was going to convince us otherwise?
Seriously. Give it up. Discussions about shiat like this on the forums is endlessly, brutally, numbingly, repetitively pointless.

Well, I didn't think anyone could beat Jash's comment about trash talk for total and utter disregard for fair play, but you managed it. Anyone who believes anything along those lines ought to be banned on sight, from any game whatsoever.

How about this... make a checkbox option to ignore all posts with the words "1337" or "pwn"? . Would filter out most of the m0o teens on the forums. Not saying that all m0o members are jerks... some are quite nice. But there's a few that make the whole corp look like a bunch of a$$holes.

You know what? I couldn't really give a monkey's uncle for who or what moo are in real life. They don't really affect my game play in any way whatsoever (aside from forcing the occasional pvp nerf) and my only interaction with them is here on the forums when swapping jibes or the occassional sensible point with the least rabid of their number.
My only niggle with these guys is when they feel the need to trash other people's threads and posting, or roleplay or whatever.
Moo have got as much right as anybody else to open "we rule we are the best, we are absolutely splendid so there!" style threads from time to time on the appropriate forums.
But they haven't got the right to post wrecking abusive derisary hate-filled comments on other people's threads. (as indeed no-one has).
These forums (and indeed this community) would be considerably more healthy if people agreed (OOC) to disagree and let the opposite extremes in gameplay and ideology and interest co-exist without constant knocking and grips.
IC propaganda fine! thats part of the background.
But all this l33t-pirate vs carebears crap on the out of character boards is pointless spam.
Sure, people have a right to their opinions but lets keep that kinda primarily negative nonsense to designated "nonsense threads" and try and keep it from overflowing to stink up the whole of the forums.
Everybody already knows what the l33t pirate community thinks of anybody who doesn't blow up a dozen ships a day in fantastic teamspeak orchastrated techicolour carnage.
Enough already.
I think a significant percentage of ordinary players are bored to tears at hearing how inferior we are because we aren't moo.
Sheesh.
Get over yourselves guys.
Live and let live.
If you want to "pwn-everything" do it in game.
Isn't that what you tell me all the time?

Show me a thread of yours that I have hijacked with a pointless abusing insult fest Stavros. Thats the issue here.
Some guy makes a thread, and your chaps come blundering in with "noobz, carebear," nonsense for the simple point of explaining once again how wonderful you are.
Thats the point

Heh even if ccp did such a thing they'd probably do what so many other pirates do: leave their corp, post from the n00b corp then rejoin their piraty friends. Jade it would be kewl if u knew what u were talking about. Several pirates are active roleplayers, for example me and Viceroy, him being the more experienced one. The only problem i have with ur roleplay is that u use m'dear and muppet too much. anyway,i know thats not the point, but that caught my attention.

Negotiator.
I'm not naming names and I'm not trying to smear you chaps with the same brush, and if you fancy roleplaying, fine, whatever. Its not the be all and end all of everything after all.
My reason for posting in this thread is to say that people with your corp tag have posted "superior-than-thou" l33t-speak pirate trash in other people's threads in unwarrented wrecking moves to brandish their pvp "mastery" in the face of "carebears" and "noobs".
I've had my own threads hijacked and brutalised by these people. Continually.
And all I am saying is that its not neccessary.
And its stuff like that which gains you the rep of being kiddies without a clue.
Don't like my threads or my opinions?
Either a) ignore them. or b) argue your case without flames and insults and disrespectful jibes.
Its fairly simple.
And if more people actually followed the rules of civilised debate, less time and bandwidth would be wasted on these ridiculous willy-waggling posts.

Wouldnt it be great if you could do the same your self.
After all you always keep calling peaple names and try to little their intellect, so you m'dear should look closer before pointing at others or even asking others to keep it civil.
But no worries, you will find some sort of reason and flame me for this post, because you usually always flame peaple who dont agree with you after all.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment, and I believe that my conduct is in no-way equivilent to issues raised in this thread. And even if it was; you must admit that "its okay for me/us to do X/Y/Z because he/she did it" is a bit of a weak argument anyhow.
Now, if you do hold the belief that debate should be more respectful, should you not simply take the opportunity to hold me to my stated opinions and look carefully at conduct in the future?

Baldour, I couldn't explain the comraderie between honest competitors to you if I had a century and Shakespeare's eloquence.
On the field, anything went. That included the little elbow to the ribs in the paint while the ref wasn't watching. Included the pitcher beaning you for crowding the plate. Included aiming an indirect free kick square at the defense's wall. Not-so-subtle reminders of what type of game we played. The rules are the boundary between real competitors and people play to the edge. Except for real attempts to seriously injure another player. That was the line.
Did you just wave to your girlfriend in the stands? Our catcher would tell you in graphic detail what he planned to do to her after the game while you were standing at the plate. I'd tell you which hole in your body I'd plant my foot and how many surgeons it'd take to remove my shoe if you tried to push me off the soccer ball Need a hint? Think catheter made by Nike, size 11 1/2. Throw a weak bow under the net and people would question your sexuality, gender and preferred species for sexual partner (homo sapiens never made the list ).
We also hosted dinners for our competition for late night games. One team's bus got stuck in the mud during on the field after a rainy game that the whole team help push out, despite being bruised and tired (we had a crappy field beyond the baseball diamond). We always shook the hands of anyone that gave an honest game, giving advice if we beat them and asking for advice if they beat us. And since we played in private schools, we invited one team and their dates to our Senior Prom, despite the added costs. Their school was too small to host a proper one.
What happens on the field, stayed on the field. Period. And only the absolute poorest of sports would bring it off the field.
That's why I was perfectly able to sell a Tempest to one of the only pirates that has destroyed one of my Tempests, in the exact same solar system they destroyed mine in.
I don't need the isk and he was playing his game. Nothing personal.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann
Be careful out there. That other guy waiting in the queue for the gate MIGHT be a baby-munching frock-burner, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW!- Lallante |
