Edited by: Rylet VanDorn on 03/07/2007 03:05:17 Edited by: Rylet VanDorn on 03/07/2007 03:04:22 As of 03:00 Server time, the Novus Ordos Seclorum alliance has been disbanded, as arranged with all those involved.
The past months have been fraught with apathy, and attempts at cobbling the alliance together into something formidable, but these attempts have failed. It has existed as a group of individuals simply co-habitating in space, rather than a single cohesive unit.
As the only volunteer to act as executor during NOS' final days, I have performed my duties and disbanded the alliance.
My thanks to CVA for the support they provided NOS during the 10 months my corp has been apart of NOS, and living in the providence region.

Honestly surprised that it even lasted this long, although from what I understand few - if any - of the original corps are left.

I for one am very saddened about the passing of NOS as they did contribute to the character of Providence in their own way.
NOS was at its peak shortly after it was created.
For those who don't remember NOS was formed by those Huzzah corps who wished to remain in Providence when Hans Roaming was expanding Huzzah out into Catch.
When Huzzah eventually collapsed some of Huzzah's more capable PvP corps joined NOS and the alliance was at its strongest during this period and relations with CVA were very good during this period.
However, many of the NOS PvPers drifted off to other alliances leaving NOS severely weakened in the PvP stakes.
Gradually CVA and NOS relations began to get strained, primarily because NOS recruited at least one known macro NPC corp.
CVA issued NOS with an ultimatum to remove said macro corp and their response was very poor (from our perspective) although the corp was eventually evicted.
This brought CVA / NOS relations to a low point and indeed behind the scenes NOS had opened negotiations with Ushra'khan, the Minmatar terrorists and long term enemies of CVA, to put a NAP in place.
Obviously, we in CVA were not impressed about this, however as our philosophy has always been to let people operate in Providence provided they were not pirating or actively assisting the Minnies we did not take any steps against NOS.
However, many NOS/HUZZAH old timers who had moved on from the alliance were dismayed to hear about what was happening in their old alliance and without any prompting from us launched an attack on NOS. Within a week the NOS 'appeasers' had capitulated and a more CVA friendly leadership was reinstated within the alliance.
Relations from that time improved although CVA did not have many direct dealings with NOS who did their own thing in the QBL pocket without interfence from us and they generally stayed out of the CVA/UK war.
However, unbeknownst to us the Minmatar terrorists had been scouting QBL and were under the (false)impression that CVA and NOS were collaborating on some huge 'project' in that area.
As a result they decided to attack NOS and launched an assault on one of their strategic systems - attacking a NOS POS. With its weakened military NOS couldn't effectively fight off this attack on their own but fortunately a CVA (and allied Amarrian fleet) was in the area and we managed to break into the system (Afer a big fight at gate) and then killed on Ushra'khan dreadnought at the POS (which was saved).
Over the next few days Ushra'khan erected 3 more POS in the system but these were destroyed by CVA/NOS forces.
After the attack on QBL CVA/NOS relations were once again very strong and NOS began to once again play a more active role against Ushra'khan and indeed sent some forces to assist CVA in our attacks on the Minmatar Outpost systems of QR and 9UY.
I am not aware of the internal politics of NOS so I do not know what has lead to their eventual decision to fold but what I do know is that many of their corps will be remaining in the area and continuing to work with CVA to bring law and order to holy Amarrian Providence.
I salute NOS for their contribution to the region. While they may not have been the most capable PvP alliance they were generally decent folk and like Huzzah before them certainly have their place in Providence history!

And once again Butter takes credit for something that had nothing to do with him...
Seriously mate, your piratical band is reasonably good at what it does but in the grand scheme of things has about as much effect as a gnat biting a rhino.
Yes you have some good PvPers, yes you can be quite effective in small gang and yes even a threat to lone travellers wandering around Providence, but to imply that you deserve some kind of credit for NOS disbanding is stretching it a little.
The alliance has just stated that they are dead. Why spit on their grave? Even if you thought they were POS huggers there really is no need to continue smacking them...

And where exactly did I claim credit for anything? I was simply stating a fact.
There are three alliances in Providence we want to see disband because we think they contribute nothing to the area other than macro-rat and hide in POS.
One just did. So I repeat: One down. Two to go.
Its a statement of fact, not me claiming credit for anything.

As far as I can remember NOS was formed by a bunch of carebears from huzzah who had a failure of a dream to build an outpost to mine ice in providence while huzzah was getting steamrolled. NOS got steamrolled, so people decided to leave for D2, which got steamrolled, and I'm sure the trend continues. The alliance at one point was chock full of ebay macro isk farmers who practically patented the cloaking/logging raven. I'm surprised the alliance lasted more than a month, but it is providence, after all. ---

Why is it giving information away? I am just interested to see who it is that you think doesn't 'contribute' anything to the area.
My guesses would by Sylph and CVA who coincidentally happen to be the people who shoot you on sight.
I am also interested in what exactly it is that BUM contributes to the area other than ganking unwary NPCers and the occasional hauler?

We're NBSI, anyone not blue to us with any sense shoots us on sight. :P
While we may not like CVA, we do have respect for them and they do contribute to the area.

Giving to much infomation to CVA is just plan bad. I respected you as a pvp force and you guys have the will and the people to throw a very large spanner in the works.
And no i dont see CVA as alliance that doesn't 'contribute' to the area infact its that other way around.
As for BUM 'contribute' to the area, both BUM and CVA have diffrent objectives. Your is a RP objective the goal is to turn the area into a Amarr control space. While ours is still fuzzy around the edges but its getting there. ----------

If I remember correctly it was a while prior to Huzzah getting "steamrolled." Maybe not though it has been a while since then and my memory does get fuzzy with age.

I can still remember the dedication some NOS members had.
We went into there space a branch of with only one way out with one inty and two af's. After we killed a Maelstrom they camped us in for 2 days in a row (fulltime). Was realy the best dedicatoin i ever saw to get some gankers.
Cheers to all who lived in that place in providence and good luck to you all
