"Due to the size of the heist, the GM team took a look into it to see if there were any violations of the EULA. No misconduct was found and any actions taken against the player by CCP were reversed.
kieron Director of Community Relations, EVE Online"
C'mon CCP, If you guys are gonna invest firmly about a Corp theft Regarding BoB, I think it's fair to say that you should investgiate EVERY Corp theft.
I pay my good money to Play this fun game, and my money is just as good as BoB's or any other players Paying to play this game.
Don't claim that you guys are only investigating theirs due to the high amount of heist. If you guys are gonna investigate their incident, Everyone should have the rights to have their investigated in detail to see if Eula were violated in their case.
It's unfair to tell others "Sorry to hear that the corp theft had occured on your corp, but we are not gonna bother investigating coz they probabbly got it the Legal way" while telling BoB "Hmm, sounds fishy, Maybe I'll investigate and see if I can get ur money back"
Thank you for reading

Edited by: fightnkill on 18/07/2007 17:15:10 For instance, WHy is it that CCP never bothered to investigate with the Corp Theft regarding Goonswarm? (60bill Involved)
60bill is STILL HUGE.
As well, some corp thief stole 1.2bill from my former Corp Even thou it may look small to CCP, It took huge amounts of work and dedication for us to gain that much. Yet, It was all gone within minutes by some damn corp thief

Did anything ever actually happen with the goonswarm theft? I always assumed it was just another dramabomb attempt to get more attention? -----

Maybe things should be checked out by asking some GS member if it really happened.
If it did happen, they should investigate.

It wasn't so much an investigation of the corp theft as an investigation into if the character had been hacked. If a petition comes in about a account possibly being hacked the same type of investiagtion will occur.

I'm pretty sure there has been many Corp thefts by hackers and I don't recall hearing any actions taken by CCP in terms of refunding the corp?
Well actually, there were some threads about corp theft by hackers but never any response by the op about the being re-imbursed for the stolen things?

In general I'd say that the hacked person would get their stuff back, but I can't really comment on any specific event.

So an evol guy petitioned him because he thought his account was hacked?
Don't u think its easy to abuse this if u take the guilty untill proven innocent approach? e.g. petition hostile fcs before fleet ops etc...

The very first corp I joined in eve was thieved using hacking. When the CEO logged on all the corp wallet was gone, all the players roles totally messed up, and the CEOs char had been removed from the corp.
He filed a petition about the hacking and CCP had the issue investigated, money refunded to the corp, and all the roles/hanger changes fixed by the next day.
I can't even remember the corps name without looking at my employment history... it was just some like 50 man nobody empire corp... CCP seemed to take it very seriously regardless of "who we were".

So suppose that BoB guy got hacked because he was browsing thru and buying ISKs illegally for cheap $.
How will you know if he got the isk thru that method or some other innocent way?

IIRC, CCP looks into any large transaction. So they pretty much do this already. ____________________________________________________ Are GoonSwarm ever going to be allowed to build up in any way in 0.0 space again? No. |

James in our Corp got hacked. He is a CEO and a whole bunch of stuff was taken from the corp hangers. We petitioned it (he didn't even know about it). The account was temp banned, while investigated.
Turns out he was hacked, we got our stuff back and a day or two later, the account was unbanned.
If you petition about hacking they investigate it, if you scream "oh noes we were robbed", they'll shrugg thier shoulders.

This thread sucks. They've investigated corp thefts many, many times. Put the pitchforks away.
I ate a temp ban for one a year ago, so quit thinking BOB is getting special treatment for this. They're not.

Same here when one of our directors got hacked and the hacker emptied the corp wallet and his personal isk/stuff. The account was banned right away and got unbanned when the stuff was refunded/returned. -----

no it isn't you utter idiot. CCP investigated if something was amiss, most likely because it was brought to their attention that an account had possibly been hacked. Investigation showed swiftly that there was no foul play and they put the account back to being active.
Stop trying to witch hunt CCP for doing their job. Stop attempting to slur that anyone recieved special treatment. Start trying to read.

So if for instance you are on the verge of a large battle, you could just file hack suspicions vs the fleetcommanders of your opponent to get them out of the way temporarily? I assume there must be some evidence presented before you shut down someone's account?

I can Fully understand that re-imbursing for corp that was hacked was the Right thing to do; however, if they get re-imbursed due to trust scam, everyone else should get the same thing.

Access logs. Of course, once the GMs find out nothing at all happened they'll return the favor and ban whoever petitioned it. -----
