I have been thinking about this for a while and haven't quite been able to figure it out. Why is it that after the break up of SE/SA, no one has been able to maintain control of Stain? I don't remember it being a bad region to live in other than the abundance of NPC stations allowing easy access to the area by hostiles but that was true when SE/SA was there. Any thoughts? New outpost-30 bil isk, Items to save up for cap ships-700 mil isk, Going to bed early now that you don't have to work for that and realizing how much poontang you were missing-PRICELESS |

too many difrent alliances live down there, its more of a constelation/part of the region for each small alliance with the bigest holder being SE

Yeah, plenty of small Alliances holding onto a constellation, or even just a few systems. The main problem with Stain, compared to say Syndicate, is the lack of facilities. Plenty of stations, but medical, science and industry are far apart which means that it's hard to get proper logistics going.

Edited by: Dahin on 19/07/2007 14:15:52 it's nice down in stain. A lot of entities living/claiming every part of it.
No napfests either, non-mutual standings and quite a few people make for an interesting mix when you go roaming. Sad part is all the station hugging, but I guess that's to be expected in an npc region.
The only bad part is that it's infested with those farmer dudes that flame in you in local in some obscure language if you stalk em for a couple of hours. And damn these guys cloak before I get to load local+20secs. If CCP would give us ANY kind of removal style for em I'd spend weeks trying to remove them. But paying for extra accounts just to leave them cloaked in their sols is not one I'm keen on.

Isn't it possible to take over NPC stations in 0.0 with the sov changes? Fear the Ibis of doom!

This could be seen as beneficial seeing as the alliances as a whole becomes more redudant if they aren't dependant on eachother too much.

I live in Stain and I like it just the way it is right now.
No POS shooting, I can go to any of the neighboring regions to find PVP, and if I get blobbed I just dock up in my station. The rats are easy to kill and the isk flows.
Fine with me.

The only downside compared to other 0.0 PvE wise is lack of any roids worth mining.
Ratting is way too good for npc space in my opinion. But that's just me, what NPC space should be like is playground for smaller entitys, but as there is less risk to lose assets like stations and boredom fueling POS and stuff it should be less rewarding as well.
Main reason for the status quo i guess is xenos and to some extend also -a- showing everyone who makes ******** claims how to die repeatedly til they are dead.
Feel free to come down though, the more mess, the merrier. --- Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity. |

I lived with fm corp for a short while in stain, boy did they get poor pvp. They sat hours on end at the same gate camping hostiles that were docked long before we got there. Compared to that I had alot more fun with triumvirate in venal.

Stain was the most fun place for me to live in until now. Good rats (even a 6/10 plex before this weird patch), lots of pvp for gangs of medium/small size or even solo, some politics were being used when i lived there, with a few alliances having nap and mutual defense pacts. But as a few people have noticed, once you start growing, you need to move somewhere else, it's a logistical nightmare for large alliances, and also controling large portions of stain for your members to live in is a problem, with npc stations and -a-, xeno gangs paying visits from time to time which even if you win will cost some significant losses to defend some npc space with bad placed stations...
Pos wars were almost non existant, the only pos war we fought was when we got sieged in our homesystem and started using some pos in place of the camped station. Defense is alot easier in npc space, you don't have to worry about sov or losing stations, defenders have all the time to call help and just wait.
