A little to much to drink set the ship up to fly to a system with a low quality lvl 3 agent. I was in a Proph. When I woke up I was in a station. I look around and am like what the heck just happened. As I was still new I figured it was best to log off and figure it out in the morning. I have been poped several times since then. Well, that would have to be 1 week into my trial - I beleive I was in either a Tristan or thorax ratting in some lowsec system (.4 i think). I thought I was safe, as I seem to recall thinking that only 0.0 is where people can "getcha". Boy was I wrong. Some random ship comes into system. I say "hi!" in local. He kills, then pods me. I'm like "Hey! I thought I was safe!" . Important lesson learned that day. ~~~ This is my sig. Do you like it? ~~~

Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application.

Came back was in my clone bay. Thought it was a bug. 1st Podding Head out to rens in a rifter, manual this time. About 1/2 way there I see a flashing red guy in a Coercer. Why is he flashing (just joined a corp and did not realy know about wartargets). He attacks me, I attack back he BBQs. I get my pod out. Now ****ed I get my biggest ship, a Rupie. I head out to rens again. I meet the same guy. I nos, web, drone and proje him to death. Continue to rens. On my way back i see him again, high of my earlier success I engage him again (he is now in an Arbitrator). He BBQ me, this is my first encounter with a T2 drones and guns. This whole exchange was fun and was my first PVP action.

Posted - 2007.07.25 19:50:00 - [22] my friend and i were about a month old and we were in our first set of battlecruisers, a pair of cyclones that we had stayed up mining for 36 hours straight to build for ourselves. we were on our first ratting expedition into 0.0. i had to log for a minute to do something, and just as i logged back in a pirate showed up in system. My friend was waiting for me to log back in so we could leave together when the pirate showed up at our belt. we figured we had more time since we didnt yet know about the shipboard scanner. He was in a vagabond, and he popped my friend as i was approaching him trying to help out. then i warped to the gate (before wtz and without an insta) trying to make it back in to empire when he warped right on top of me, web, scrammed and popped me.
Atama Cardel	Posted - 2007.07.25 19:54:00 - [23] My first time dying in pvp was in a kestrel 3 days after I started playing, I was trying to trade and somehow I got the idea that stuff was cheaper in low sec, so I went to 0.4, spent all my isk on fullerides then as I was undocking I saw a flashy red on my overview and I decided to look at it as I didn't know what that meant and before I knew it I was dead . Of course I didn't have insurance on the kestrel so I was pretty much iskless.

"john doe" is trying to open up a convo with you. hi hi what you doing here? um. just passing through. good. pew pew pew! wtf is this red stuff coming out of my ship!? why isn't my shield booster working!? his armour just went up!? he's cheating, he has a shield booster for his armour!!! my baby. my beautiful cruiser. another month in a merlin. the rush was imense. a month later i signed up with rionnag alba, straight into 0.0. constant pvp against SMASHkill, all day everyday. never turned back since. We were thinking, what's so bad about low sec...seems fine Then..2 flashy red targets appeared on overview...Benglada and another. I saw this really nice orange effect I had never seen before (NOS) and was thoroughly BBQ'd Great rush...it made me want to fit out combat ships. So to the mission runners I ganked in Tribute, Benglada is to blame I, erm, like kill things and stuff

I was rolling around low sec in a rifter, quite alone, cruising belts for rats. I really had no idea this was at all dangerous. So, there I was, in my shabby old Merlin, sweating like a pig and twitching nervously at the idea I was about to go out and try to shoot someone. The first few minutes were a blast, we managed to blow up a Prophecy, Ishkur and a Brutix. I nearly saved me skin from a Drake, as I managed to MWD out of its range at 11% structure (I still keep the Fraps and look at it now and then). There I was, proud of the fact that I saved me skin, but a tad worried that the flames coming from my ship would warm up the oh so essential to my existence beer in the cargo hold. With all sausages well-done, I jumped in the next system with the gang, only to get targeted and blown up by a NOS Brutix. Now, I don't know if it was because of the beer fumes, or my general lack of intelligence, I decided it would be best to proceed to the-first-thing-I-could-click-on in my pod. Much to my surprise, there was a large bubble on that one gate, and a gang of 12-13 hostiles, that happily sent me back home on the pod express.

I jumped into one of ginger magicians regular gatecamps enroute to rancer in my first rupture, he blew my rupture but i managed to get my pod to station without being podded tried to run my reaper back past the camp (long before wtz) i was 10km from the gate when they locked so i orbitted the nearest hostile and shot him with my vicy gat until the drones finally caught up to me lol I think I did like 1% damage to the carriers shields! Real turtles tank armor. Real men fly Pink. Nerfageddon

My fitting didn't suck, but I lost a ship every hour for the first four hours. It all kinda blurs together.... The one that I remember was when I managed to get to 21km away from the guy who was killing me and warp out; I was so pleased with myself for surviving, that I chatted merrily with my would-be killer in local. I had only recently learned Cybernetics 4 and was planning on replacing my current set of +1 implants with some +4 implants. However, I thought to myself, if I'm going to destroy all my current implants anyways, I might as well take this opportunity to have a little fun and do some 0.0 exploration. So, I purchased a shuttle and traveled through Scalding Pass, shouted "There are no Goons!" on local chat, moved on through TCF space into IAC, then down to KOS-held Tenerifis, briefly passed through a few systems with Red Alliance sovereignty, which confused me 'cause I expected them to be elsewhere, and then eventually ended up parked outside a player outpost. I forget if it was owned by TCF or KOS, but what I do know is that people were going in and out of the outpost regularly and none of them were shooting me. At this point I was bored and wanted to get back to my home system to install those implants, so I requested one of the players coming out of the outpost to shoot and pod me. And that's the story of my first podding.

I tried to steal an overseer's key from under the nose of someone from HUFF in a raven. He didn't pod me anyway. They all have one breath; so that a man has no preeminence above a beast. All go to one place; all are of the dust and all turn to dust again.

(You used to be able to fit larger missiles in smaller launchers at cost of capacity, So you could have a Kestrel with 4 Cruise missiles loaded, for instance) I convoed one of them, because I literally had no idea what I had done to insult them so... When they figured out I was a 1 week old noob they refunded the cost of my cruiser... I pass one of them every now and then in space and we say hello.

the blender the Gentleman Loser	Posted - 2007.07.26 01:53:00 - [49] My first and unly podding, it was a few months into playing eve, had gotten bored of the usual grind of missions and having just trained infomorph up, I thought hey I'll go 0.0 ratting, so I get a course plotted from my local to jump off into 0.0, I get setup in FD-MLJ with my raven taking care to travel just after DT, while setting up I notice how quiet 0.0 is. So I rat about for a while, amassing a heap of junk loot, when I decide to take a trip back home in empire, beliving it will be quiet as it was before, I set off in an unfitted badger. I jump into PF-346 to be greeted by 4 TOASP battle ships, I was fried before I could blink, then while in shock floating there in me pod I was suddenly very quickly back in suroken. The annoying thing was, that I hadnt used a J/C and had a head full of +3's

Was in my 2nd or 3rd week of playing I think. first loss while I actually fought: in the following war, against a INFOD roaming gang, where I tackled a battleship in a rifter and got webbed and blown up after a short while. We got the BS thou :) Was still my 1st month playing.

Boy does EVE suck in this respect. Back then trade goods could actually get you SOME ISK but you needed to move VAST amounts, and that meant a huge slow ship, not a small fast cruiser. Soooo I've been running through losec, wonder WTF was up with all these rumors of pirates and I didn't run into one for a LONG time. Finally met my fate at the end of a 1400mm Tempest piloted by Handon Guild. Oops. I would warp away from my enemy and then when I arrived at the destination I kept warping back for some reason and warped into the guy. Apparently I forgot to turn off my autopilot. I blame my first podding on AP :p

Had just paid for some implants in a random 0.4 system just outside abudban and headed over to pick them up in my probe. I was still very green but had managed to buy a full set of +2's that i was really pleased with. Plugged them in headed home, passed through some 0.2's some 0.3's and nothing no trouble at all. Got to the final gate in 0.4 space and all of a sudden i was in Rens with none of my gear. Few seconds later i see the flashing mail box, secure commerce commission has paid out on my barely insured probe. Complete set of plants gone, ship too. Check the kill mail later, i was taken out and podded by some guy in a megathron. Who got a Civilian autocannon as loot. Cant remember the guys name off hand, but ive seen it around, even within the last week and i know theyre a prety big pvper now and have probably taken down hundreds, maybe thousands lol, so i guess its nice to know i was one of the first.

So I fitted out a Rifter with my pretty sucky skills and went looking for something to kill. So I'm at a belt in a 0.4 system and this flashing red dude warps in. So I make for the hills (safe spot) and warp out Anyway he convos me in Local asking why I ran off so I said why you think you're -10 sec rating. Anyway he offers me to 1v1 to half armour so I figure oh well wtf eh ? Probably gonna die but I wonder how bad. So we meet at a belt and I'm going down fast. To my shock he deagresses and we chit chat for a bit about my attempt to run a hull tank. lol. Anyway, before I know it he's scramming me again and this time the nos takes all my cap and not even the DCU will run so my rifter goes bang and soon after I'm back in my clone station. Anyway he gave me 400k to cover my losses so fair play to him.

However a week later I had the immense satisfaction of finding the same player's Hawk, webbed, scrammed and nossed by a corpmates inty, sitting 10k in front of my cormorant. So the same player who killed me for the first time is also the victim on my own first kilmail. Poetic justice I feel.

Trooper66 collected my loot (and probably corpse). This was back in 2005, and though I still see them log on and off from time to time, I've never met them in space again... It must've been around 2-3 months later when I got podded for the first time. Why did I use my hard-earned cruiser for a simple courier mission? I don't really know. It didn't hurt that much back then. The 2nd one was shortly after I got back to the game, after several months of inactivity. THAT hurt. Same mistake, another cruiser down... After I was podded for a 3rd time, I got rid of the 'pick and fetch' missions into no-man's lands and started working for the Navy. Better late than never...

They had war decced us to "practice" there pvp skills on a mining corp Anyway outside the station we had two of us both in mallers, both new players (me and my cousin) and this thorax ripped us a new one thing is I was ontop of the station shooting him and trying to dock at the same time, then I relized after I dead about the agro timer (after being told) meh come on I was a newbie!

I was nobly scouting a fellow corpie's battleship into core when they brutally shredded my incursus from under me. Managed to jump from 75fa into y-2ano and dock, and grab my complimentary velator of doom. Of course the correct thing to do at that point was not to undock, so I undocked and got popped and podded at the station.

About 15-16 battleships and myself in my brand new Comorant. We came out of warp near the gate and I charged ahead, hoping to get a few shots off. I was only a few months into the game with pretty crap skills and no idea about what I was doing. Needless to say, I don't even recall if my guns activated. I was in a pod pretty quick. I had been in 0.0 for less than a day, a nice welcome! =)

Some guy drops out of warp right on top of me in a ship I didn't recognize, locks on, and fires. I fight back for a good minute or two and realize that he's stopped shooting. At this point I am webbed and scrambled. I realize there's a little blinking light that indicates incoming conversation. I click and and its him: "4 million or your ship dies and I pod you." NOO! Not my Kestrel! I quickly agree: "Ok deal. But I'm on trial, can you tell me how to pay you?" He answers: "Trial account? Trial accounts can't transfer money!" Me: "Really? Then... What happens now?" Him: "Welcome to EVE." Blows me up, and pods me. I signed up later that day :)

I bought some tech2/good mods stuff off the old escrow system (Dang cheap) but it was deep in north 0.0 I hopped in a hoarder and maxed it out with nanofibers and afterburner to make my trip as fast as possible. (This was before warp to 0, and this is where a lesson was learned). I thought about taking a shuttle but planned my route to the venal npc station to take me the long way where there was 0-2 people in space, it was somewhere around 50+ jumps. I begin my trip and made it about 15 jumps into 0.0. The excitement was high due to the first time being in 0.0, but it all came crashing down, on the out gate there was a pair of interceptors and when I came out of warp, I got targeted. I hit the afterburner and engaged the shield booster as I started to take damage. I made it to the gate and jumped. I came out on the other side, started to align and engaged warp drive. As I jumped local jumped by 2. Damn, they are chasing me I was thinking. So, I get to the gate and engage afterburner. I make it about half way there when they came out of warp and started shooting. Now I am at half armor but I still make it to the gate. I jump and repeat the process again. I get to the next gate and again make it about half way when they start shooting. I was very low on cap now because it was a rather long jump and I had crap energy/shield skills at the time. I made it to 3km off the gate when my ship went bang. They got my pod scrammed and next thing ya know I was in a station with that tutorial B**** laughing at me because I was podded. I found it extremely irritating for that to happen but life goes on. I ended up reselling the bundle of gear for a 10 mil profit (Including the loss of the hoarder). In the end it was pretty exciting.

Anyways we were doing some ninja mining crokite, I was at a safespot (when safespots were still safespots) when the server dropped me, when i logged back on i was in mid warp... TO THE INSERT VERY NASTY WORD HERE gate!!! When i dropped from warp it took the gatecamp aprox 10 sec to wtfpwnbbq my poor osprey and a few seconds more to do the same to my pod. Tried to petition it but what can i say... ccp is ccp hehehe (reason i petitioned it is cuz i had a head full of +3's who were rather expensive back then and we didn't have JC's yet) CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Magners is now recruiting, evemail me or Dagazbo ingame.
