Yep.
To be part of BOBs fantastic coalition, you not only have to pay a high rent for horrible pieces of space, they also decide who gets into your alliance and who doesn't.

Come on folk, the point isn't that only letting certain people into their space is good policy - it is. We realize this. The point is that many of the BoB pets defend themselves against pet allegations by saying that they are free and independent entities who simply happen to pay rent, whereas the reality is more along the lines of BoB telling them exactly what is and is not allowed and kicking them out should they not meet expectations.
Which is pretty amusing considering we're playing an e-space e-game.

Considering that our structure is slowly approaching (ok, lets imagine it would be) that of Feudal Europe, wouldn't the proper terms be like 'serf', 'vasal', or even 'barony'? All being words used to describe parties in dependant but un-equal relationships.
A pet is more associated with something kept for company and amusement; can't really see Sir Molle having that twisted sense of humour (and should you kick your dog in groins, you'll make it angry ; unlike what happens with BOB and her vasals).
Perhaps we really need 'Walking in Station' and Eve-TV to see the political landscape in reality : who all need to bow and lick Molle's toes on BOB's reception.

Quite the opposite. The biggest failing (from this grunt's perspective) that we had with the FTZ was that we threw it open to whoever wanted in and didn't vet applicants properly for what we needed, and so rather than the influx of miners and producers we were hoping to get we ended up with 90%+ ratters, which aren't all that great in a scheme primarily aimed at building up local markets.

Its hard to mine when there is no security and you are likely to get ganked before long.
Of note with regards to GBC - The very good reason bob will vet applicants is that they dont want crappy isk farmy corps joining up, or leechers. If you want to join you need to be able to pull your weight and help out, not just leech off your fellow alliance members and make them look bad.
TBH i think its the most sensible policy.
I don't think anyone is arguing that this isn't a reasonable step for BoB (from a harsh Machiavellian standpoint, anyway). The point is that any sovereign alliance that allows itself to be dictated to by BoB should probably reconsider any rationale they make to themselves and others that they are in fact sovereign and independent.
If you are ruled by another, that other rules you. Simple. Not that there's anything wrong with that, if that's what you're into.
Everyone does it.
Or, rather, everyone with half a brain - any space holding entity that allows a guest groupt to join without any checks and balances on their membership will also do so to any other group in that community. Security for one, means security for all - those that don't realise that won't fit in so it really is no loss if people prefer to be "sovereign" in someone elses space (oxymorons are great, aren't they?)
In criticising groups that accept our rule on this, you also criticise your own. If that is your intention, more power to you, it does however (imo) show a distinct lack of understanding of the tenant / landlord relationship of 0.0 space.

And about understanding the tenant / landlord thing, it's more likely about not understanding that everyone doesn't play the game the same way. You know, some people are power hungry slave drivers, some are not.

Im going to do a mass reply to the number of posts that involve me or my former alliance.
1. Fatal guy actually I am pretty much an expert on the GBC. I ran every corp that I was attempting to have join my alliance through Avancade before accepting their application. He never once said no.
2. Random GOON who thinks he knows anything about GONAD rent contract with BOB something the great. No where in my talks with Avancade or Dianabolic was it agreed upon that BOB would defend us from Black Ops of GOONs. It was a failure on my part to underestimate the focus that the goons would put on us and an over estimation of how quickly bob would move forward and take 77s.
3. Random GOON who claims GONADs were thrown out like Xelas. We fell apart because of a failure to establish cohession between our corps and internal issues amongst the leadership team. These were catalyized by a constant GOON black Ops presence.
4. Angelus either you are ignorant or just trying really hard to troll because RMF is a strong alliance and has held out against seiges many times. Your alliance is trying way to hard to bandwagon onto the GOONs back, i know you guys consider yourself one in the same but you should think about who you are talking about before you post. You are a much better poster on SHC then on Eve-O.
