Podding someone sends them to where ever they came from, possibly dozens of jumps away. If you don't pod em, they might just pick up a new ship from a carrier or a jump or two away and join in on the fight again. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

Depends on who you are fighting and why.
If I am gang fighting against a skilled opponent in an ongoing engagement that will certainly continue for the next few minutes, I do not pod kill. This serves only to provide a swift teleport to their next fitted ship, and to tie up valuable high and low slots for a few precious seconds.
If I am in low sec, I tend not to podkill, as an alt of an alt of an alt, it's my job to go to highsec on shopping trips.
Any other time... you might as well pod kill them if you can since there is nothing to lose.

Well one reason is that it sends the victim all the way back to his medical station, often far away.
Another is, if you're fighting a war, well it costs your enemy a little extra ISK (possibly a lot of ISK).
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

while not beeing pirate: - to get them out of my way - to make the kill the most expensive for 'em as it can get - to prevent them from hopping in a ship dropped from carrier/mothership - to reduce lag

Well, it is simple. Because it is fun and it is part of the game. Join our corp and I'll teach you a few tricks that will hopefully save your pod.

Stick your middle finger up. You feel that? That's kinda what it's like to pod someone. I've only been podded before so thats what I figure the other guy is doing.

When trying to give a person the "You are not welcome in this system" message, podkills really help drive the message home.

Bacause the ability to take EVERYthing off a player in space without his/her consent is what makes Eve so much nicer than the likes of WoW or Hello Kitty :P
Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

As I was killing him he said. Thank God, I was only in a pod

I'm a junkie to the *sssquishwaaah" sound. It doubles the fun of the target ship blowing up. I don't understand how people can play the game without sound... hearing the activation of your big guns on some hapless target , the explosion of his ship and the crushing of his pod is the best part of Eve. A symphony of cruelty.

To save them the boring, slow trip back to their base in a slow moving Pod.
I once got killed, and had to make 15 jumps back home in just a POS. woulda been easier to just get killed.
