spiceses 667	Posted - 2007.08.21 20:54:00 - [1] Hi i read the C&P forums quite a lot and seems like peoples perceptions on what is a pirate is totally off IMO. Imo i regard pirates as people who do the following - - Engage Targets (low or high sec) for Isk gain, either it be though randsoming, luring a faction mod fitted navy bs into a gank (in high sec), ganking haulers (high sec) or anything carring loads of loot, and esp those people who would sell their mothers and grandmothers to isk farmers for isk !!!!!! Now for me i would regard people who PVP as people that : - like to fight for FUN in Low sec or 0.0 (i live by the code NBSI), not always for personal gain but the nice shiney loot that drops from t2 fitted ships is always welcome. Now i could be totally wrong but imo there is 2 distinct categories PVP'ers & Pirates for the reasons above. Now what really confuses me is Anti-Pirates, they claim they only hunt pirates but yet they would attack anyone who has a global (i am guessing), so if that person isn't involved in "piracy" then why would he be classed as a pirate? (because of a global he got for pew pewing a Bs that decided to cross his path?) . So basically i am just curious what does the Pirates / Anti-Pirates regard Pirates as?? Is my reasoning totally off or am i just a pirate that likes to pretend he is a PvP'er?? And if it is purely because your killing in low sec then why is it so different NBSI in 0.0?? i only see low sec as a extention of 0.0. And yes this is my alt

Anyway - I've gone back and forth about this, but the core goal in piracy for me is always the same - ISK. These days you might say I'm more of an anti-pirate than a pirate. Not in my ethos per se but because of my desire to keep a reasonable security status. In empire I will engage blinkies only - war targets or pirates. I do this because I spent quite a long time as a blinky myself and I know it's important to stay on your toes. Any substantive target in empire gets killed though if the potential ISK benefit outweighs the negative sec status hit. Also, before anyone even starts -- spare me your rhetoric about having to be blinky to be a pirate. Just can it because I don't agree and I don't want to argue about it. In 0.0 it's different obviously. Anything not blue gets the tender lovin, and we don't have very many blues out in those parts anymore. --

You gave one valid definition; probably good for your uses. So your best bet is just ask them about their agroing policy, don't you think? We as community can't real know their policies. Although have to admit, 'shoot anyone with sub-zero security status' makes quite simple policy for those wanting to play the good guys (which is damn harder path to choose than going for evil 'shoot everything'). -Lasse
