Hello all,
Since i have never compared to others, i want to know where my resist standing is...am i good, or do i still have to improve. With my skills, i am only still able to fit T1 stuff. When my active hardeners are on, my resists are:
EM : 85% Exp: 76% Therm: 79% Kin: 77%
I am actually armor tanking a Hurricane, i have 2 rat hard, and 2 adaptive membrane on my fitting for lvl 3 missions.
Please, give me your imputs on this one. Thx a lot!

Good resists are 85% in my opinion, and since you are talking pve..do you tank drones with that? :)
I made a cane in quickfit with t2 tank, and it haves only EM-83.15% EXP-74.8% KIN-79.0% THERM-63.48 with 1 x armor expl and 1x kin hardeners, 2 x EANM II's, AND a DCU II. No idea how you get those resists with t1 stuff, and 2 active hardeners and 2 x eanm I's. Forgot to mention rigs maybe? |

Ehmmm, wtf? I seriously doubt you can get those resists with only 4 hardeners, and 2 active t1 and 2 energized adaptives most definately ain't it. Maybe, just maybe you can squeeze in that direction with officer/deadspace hardeners...
With level 4 compensation skills I get: 79.25 37.75 71.62 75.4
With only 2 active hardeners there's no way you can plug all 3 armor holes as you have done, not to mention even getting as high on those resists that we DO harden... So either you made a mistake or you're trying to brag with made up numbers. ----------------------------------------------- New sig coming SoonÖ |

With 3 armor res rigs i get 83/78/82/71. But i would hate my cane to be that slow tbh. And yeah, the OP numbers seem a bit off. :D

I don't know where the OP came up with those resists with only 2 active and 2 passive hardeners. ------------

'good' resists are relative. On a pvp setup i would consider 70% across the board 'good' for a repper/booster setup. For PVE you're looking at 85+ on NPC specific damage types.
For example on a chimera or archon carrier or ships with similar resist bonuses it's not hard to get 80% across the board, but keep in mind resistances are only worth as much as you can rep them for. Also, lifting your avg. resists from 70 -> 80 is a much, much better improvement than taking them from 60 -> 70.

Gank-type resists - average of 60% considered fine.
Hybrid-type resists - average of about 75% can be fine.
Tank-type resists - average or above 82-85% is good, depending on amount of reps/boosters and etc.

i can get my hac's passive armor resists all above 80% with out breaking a sweat. however, this involves the collecting of faction/dead space passive EANMs and your armor resist skills up to par.

Yeah sorry i didn't explain properly. The resists that i stated in my first message are the best i can get whenever i get the proper specific Hardener depending on the rat i am fighting. I dont have all those resist at the same time. I would need a third specific hardener to do that, but i wont in PvP.
I specified the max i can get to each of them, to see if they are high enough regarding to others. My bad! |

Well, resists are like, inverse multipliers on your damage taken, and therefore an effective multiplier on your effective hit points (ehp) and your tanking (amount repped)
At 50% resistances, you're on a 2x ehp multipler, and 2x tank multiplier. For every 100 hitpoints you repairer repairs, your opponent has to do 200 hitpoints of damage. For every hitpoint of plate (or shield extender) you have, your opponent has to do two.
At higher levels: 66% = 3x 75% = 4x 80% = 5x 83.33% = 6x 86% = 7x
90% = 10x 95% = 20x 99% = 100x
No, it's not a linear progression. At 99% resists, I'd have to be able to 'tank' one hit point, for every 100 hps someone was doing to me, either via just having armour, or having a repairer.
OK, back to the question.
IMO 'good' resists are 75%+ on all resistances. E.g. >4x multiplier.
