I think this change is big enough to warrant a separate thread from any others that I may have been created. (rofl sif I would search)
Quote: Interdictor warp disrupt probes will now prevent warp, even if the warp is already initiated.
This means a few different things:
No longer can a dictor pilot drop a bubble after entering warp to slow down an enemy force who are giving chase.
No longer will it be so easy for a fast gang to escape vengeance if there is a ballsy dictor pilot in the chase gang willing to risk his ship to bubble the fleeing gang.
Motherships and indeed Titans will be much easier to kill (in 0.0 obviously) as they can no longer initiate warp after all of the bubbles on it have ran out or have been smartbombed. A new bubble will now void that warp.
Ratters who fit WCS and sue FoF missiles to NPC with will now be much easier to catch, at the moment if a 6 WCS Raven (I have seen one, seriously) initiate warps the second he sees someone enter local he is as good as safe.
Discuss.

I (seriously) doubt you've seen a 6-WCS Raven.
Anyway, yeah, it's a great change. --- Proud Amarr pilot.

*Grins* Of course, Ravens do not have that many lows.. but you understand the point still.
Also, I have seen 6 WCS fit to bomber battleships :P

If you still mean that for 5, I've run into a few myself. Mostly at gates we had bubbled when they jumped in though

so that means a dictor bubble will break one's warp midway? ZOMG AMBUSH IN BETWEEN GATES?!
As unlikely as that sounds, if that were possible now, I'm definately skilling for dictors... -

Doubt it...as far as I know once you're in warp the only way you're leaving is on the grid of your destination. Though I would love to be wrong. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

Nothing operationaly has been changed about bubble mechanics. If you did not know there was a bubble camp before, then you wont know now. It does not pull people out of midwarp if that is what you are thinking.
All it does is fix a loophole where you spam the warp command 0.00001 or more seconds before a bubble is dropped would allow you to ignore the effects of the bubble, even if it took you 2 minutes to align. --

Edited by: Illyria Ambri on 25/08/2007 09:07:49 I was refering to Kazumas comment about getting bubbled midwarp and getting pulled out of warp between gates rather then at the gate.
You could warp in and not find a bubble.. think your "safe" then warp to the next gate and get snagged in a bubble halfway there.
Would be cool if that were possible.. but very painful to adapt to.. probably have to revert to BM hell rather then straight lining it between gates ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

Very long overdue fix of a really bad ... game mechanics/exploit.
Good one!!
Now you cannot warp away if you are bubbled. Lag (so that enemy dictor can't deploy bubble and you initiate warp in the meantime) won't save you any more.
Bubbles won't break the warp tunnel, they never did and this won't change with this patch either.

Most people recognize that this is how bubbles should have worked, from the beginning. It's also been a longstanding item on the "known issues" list, so we knew CCP regarded it as a bug, too.
All that said, I think supercaps have now been far too nerfed. I'm curious what the plan is to make them relevant on the front lines again. As it stands after these last few changes, the only time you can deploy supercaps is when you have either a supercap blob (2 or more Titans or 3+ moms) or you have conventional superiority.

what about warping 100km to a gate and being pulled into the mobile bubble that is 40km away from you?
that sounds like a bug?

Wait, so you can't set a bubble between gates? I always wondered why intercepting pilots didn't do that. As above poster asked, why then do bubbles pull us away from things? Like, even if its not in the exact direct line, just being near it seems to pull us in. (Although those are the big perma bubbles not the little dictor probe things)

wouldn't be cool imho, would just lead to even more gimptards camping warp routes for easy low risk kills. What would be really cool if that after attempting to scramble someone YOU yourself could not warp for 5 minutes.... and neither could any of your gang....then we could get some REAL fights instead of the current ***** pvp eve has.

If they added that mechanic, "***** pvp'ers" as you put it, wouldn't use the tactics as they do now, they would form up even bigger blobs to make sure any attempt at retaliation would fail. It would also destroy hit-n-run pvp, leaving major blob lagfests everywhere as the only form of pvp. Now ask yourself, is this really what you want?

If you are warping on a line that goes through the bubble, and the point at which your warp ends is within 150 km of the bubble (even if that point is before the bubble), the bubble will pull you in and you will end up at its periferi.

Sounds like a good fix.
But an idea to place bubbles between gates would actually be real cool, since you would have a real good reason to stop gatecamping and for once giving both the hunter and the hunted a fair chance if they're cunning.
Gatecamping seems directely stupid and doesn't really require a masterdegree to do, to intercept people between gates and to avoid interception makes the hunting more fun.

Bubbles were changed so that they stop emergency warps from logging out back in the spring, so yes.

That excludes me from 0.0 then. My client lags out and DC's when there's only 5 or 6 at the gate when I jump in. It's a nightmare around busy systems and would result in an instant ship (and maybe pod) loss in 0.0
