Tell that to some good friends of ours (notably, quite a few of our own corporations and current allies) at JV1V. What isn't reimbursed (they wont reimburse us here) counts as lost.
"If it wasn't for the server" fails to take into account a major (unfortunate) aspect of EVE POS warfare- to not account for the server is akin to saying "if it wasn't for the machinegun" about WWI battles.
The server is a fact of life in EVE. To not account for this is tactical error and blame should be placed directly on those that directed caps to a gate (or for individual pilots for risking such a vital alliance asset to lag).
If razor and co. were to place caps on a gate and nodeshot occurred I guarantee they would see the tactical mistake of deploying caps on the gate at that particular moment in time.

No mistake was made here. A phoenix can kill a battleship in one shot why wouldnt you have such a war machine on gatecamp? And a thanatos can kill battleships in seconds while repping its buddies so they cant die. It's a good tactic, stop trying to disrespect your allies buddy.

It may well be a good tactic when the numbers are smaller, but the risk involved in using it in a battle like BKG is enormous.
There were ~370 ships in BKG and 260 or so trying to jump in. The chance of that triggering a node crash or a node shutdown to prevent it killing the cluster are fairly high. And in that case, as we've seen, the jumpers-in get priority on login and the re-logging camp gets slaughtered.
The M.Pire FC may not have known what happens when the node goes down during a mass jump-in, which is hardly something you can blame him for. Or he may have known and simply decided the potential payoff was worth the risk - if that was the case he deserves praise for having big brass ones. It turned into a disaster for his side, but if the node had stayed up it could easily have been a disaster for us instead...
We won, but it was more a game of chance than a fight. I don't think anyone involved, on either side, is very happy at what went on in BKG tonight |

The northern experience is sync and desync. To lag and to be lagged.
The cap move apparently worked pretty well on a different day but nodeshots are scary, scary things.
Glad to see CCP has eliminated all stability issues with EVE, etc.

I believe that was the preliminary mission here, but our fleets didn't make it in time and the 2 Reinforced PoS's was repped up as far as i know.
However: Cynojammer is currently down in BKG.

   Quote: Forgot about the jammer.
Could you give us some numbers on the tower situation then(how many moons in system, towers on each side, reinforced towers on each side etc)?

65 moons in BKG, mostly held by M.Pire.

The towers are awesome. The one with the cyno jammer on esp as it is just pure pwnage - it even draws people who thought they got away from it with 5% hp, then arrived at the station, broadcast for armour, realigned and got disconnected BACK to it to make sure it can finish them... its THAT awesome.
No idea about the towers, I'm not sure anyone else does atm either.
The boards and a certain running play by play ts commentary in irc that went on were probably the most awesome part of the very long frustrating evening.
God I felt my iq drop just by hitting post reply.

Edit: Should probably add unlucky to mpire an co, before the crash we were getting picked off one by one as we jumped in, after the crash you got picked off. Sucky way to go - wasn't the first, won't be the last.

Its currently a game of cyno jammer goes down, we shoot it take it offline. Jump in caps. They rep the jammer and pos and things return to normal. However look at the killboards and they speak for themselves today.

Good fight? Is it a joke? 450 vs 280. Node crashed. Most of us haven't seen a single target over the whole evening and after that most of us couldn't even log back in. Good fight indeed... staring at black screen for hours.

Good fight? Is it a joke? 450 vs 280. Node crashed. Most of us haven't seen a single target over the whole evening and after that most of us couldn't even log back in. Good fight indeed... staring at black screen for hours.

Of course it was a good fight. Maybe you didnt notice it by now, but your individual pov is worth nothing in alliance warfare and fleetbattles. --- I was sworn to absolute secrecy! |

You forgot the part where the POS kills 30+ of your battleships every time you attempt to kill the cyno jammer.
  Just sayin
