If the ruling stands, well. *shrug*. Not going to argue that point.
It'd be nice to see a 'grudgematch' though, after the playoffs.

Actually, thats a good idea. I'd love to see a non-scored match that doesn't contribute to the Tourney. One at the end. Just for completeness sake ------

flame away, its like water off a ducks back.
The only reason I made this thread was beacuse a GM suggested it. So I was under the impression it could be 'on the cards'
Can't we just hug it out guys?

I'd love to see a re-match (misnomer there but you know what I mean).
Felt kinda jipped to miss it the first time.
Although without stakes on the table it loses something. Like pre-season in sports. Just not as fun.

You win some you lose some. It's all in the name of fun and glory, so have fun and put up a good show next match.

Dunno why this bugs me but it does.
Rum will boost morale but not fight scurvy. Sailors would often mix other stuff into the rum (like lime juice) which would ward off scurvy but it was the limes and not the rum that did it.
Yeah, small thing I know and I'll cope but just had to be a geek about it finally.

LoL @ goonies trying to whine their way out of it. Big no to the idea of rematch , this is a just call for their tampering with rules and it should stay there as well as faliure to learn how to count properly

So far I have seen two primary arguments in this thread:
1) Enforce the rules equally 2) You can't change a call after the fact
I was not able to view what exactly happened, but from what I have read the Goons fielded 109 points worth of ships at the team beacon (not in the area or "battlefield"). At this point the GMs counted up the ships points and DQed them for having 109 points worth of ships. If this information is correct, then according to the rules - no rules were broken. The rules do state that there can be no more than 100 points worth of ships and no more than 10 pilots on the "battlefield", but nowhere does it say that there cannot be more than the prescribed number at the beacons. The Goons could have been informed they had to immediately correct the situation or face disqualification, but instead the GMs simply disqualified them. This situation could have been handled so much better.

This ruling is quite lame and unfair, and GMs could've easily handled it fairer. It was a mistake, caused by people crashing out of this game, scrambling for replacements, it's not like GS sneakily sought an unfair advantage with this. They could've easily made the extra person bugger off, but used it as an excuse to screw with goons. Whatever.
It is a clear case of CCP "getting even" with goons by giving them maximum s..t because for past regressions, and it's nice to see BoB and other people in this thread recognizing it as such.

Recognising the value of Goons getting DQ'd perhaps, nothing else.

Well I think might be an idea to just admit you screwed up, and get over it.
Otherwise...there is a distinct danger people may start to accuse you of bleating on like a small fluffy complaining thing.

Sounds like we got a goon lover. Back on topic, it's nice to see goons fail, doesn't matter how, isn't it? You can't say many of us aren't glad to see it happen.

yes and thank you.
a rematch is not really possible due to time issues and it would also be upto the other team you was against.
it also didn't help your case attacking the other team at the exit beacon, which we are still discussing inhouse.

Thanks for this clarification Sharkbait. However, by any standard the punishment was too strong for an honest mistake, which would have simply been fixed asking to one of our players to leave (or randomly disconnecting one at a GM's decision).

we are being harsh with the rules because we want no problems and no delays. if you said there was 1 to many people sooner and not waited upto 10mins, the outcome might have been different.
but i will not change the rules while the tournament is running and i/we will take the actions if any other alliance does this.
i'm sorry if you feel this is unfair, but rules are rules.
