Im deadly serious. Its not speed tanking. But its rather damp setup really. Takes anything below 21km lock range 22 km range, and spam missiles. Dead raven in 4 minuts.

No, thats not the point. The point is to go over 1km/s, and be able to warp to a belt with a ratter in it, quite fast.

Now that i come think of it, it can actually work if used like that. However, anyone smarter than a farmer can own you quite well, not even talking of ships faster than yourself. -

Personally:
Rifter for soloing. Costs less then 2M, great against small ships, and will occasionally kill a noob ratter in a larger ship (and i've had success against T1-fit stabbers when I land into webrange). Very limited target selection. Excellent regarding surviveability when solo (choosing your targets, of course). Very cost-efficent.
Rupture. Not so agile and quick to run away, but fun to fly and relatively survivable. Unfortunately, due to an unfortunate incident involving a Moa, Cerebus and gate guns, I need to fit a new one. Has a much wider target selection then the Rifter, obviously.
BTW, nano-damp drake is a new one, but, hey, if it works, good.

I never understood how people use AC rifters (or jaguars), since once you get into web range you are basically dead.

I smacked my knee into the desk when I read about the nano Drake. It kept me from falling over, however.
Oh and how and the hell could you break a Raven tank in 4 minutes? Passive regen on the Raven would null your DPS :p
Ohh, and my nano Raven would own your nano Drake!

Rifter is my fav, had some fun with my Jag until I found a very nasty station guns bug.
Rifter is fast, can do some damage, and best of all, cheap. So you don't have to worry about losing a few.
I'll most likely start rocking a Stabber once I get T2 meds while I train up HAC's. Rupture might be a fun ship with T2 meds, would be good for anti AF/Inty ship.
Always wanted to sit my Drake off of a gate and see how long I could tank the guns though...

If you're targetting ratters then you know what damage types to avoid obviously. I've seen drakes 1v1 raven's while tanking sentry guns in low-sec so I wouldn't laugh at what the drake is capable of doing =P
My solo ship of choice right now is the Sacrilege though. Just avoid getting close to blaster ships and anything with like...massive DPS...like blaster ships... ---

Angular velocity when close in, when combined with a small signature means it's not as bad as you think. Get to 500m away, and you're actually maintaining a fairly high angular velocity, even if you're only doing 40m/sec - especially given signature resolution vs. radius.(That's 0.08 rad/sec, before you factor in the fact that the rifter is on a 35m signature)
Oh, and a lot of ratters/miners don't fit webs :)

In fact, if someone IS packing a web on a cruiser, unless it's a T1/langour web, you're dead, and there's nothing you can do about it.
The whole idea about Rifter piloting is to pick either targets which: a) you can pop regardless wether they're packing a web (like, other frigates) b) don't typically pack a web (a T1 fitted stabber is a good example: if you land in its webrange, it's going to most likely die. If it gets to kite you with T2 guns, you will die.
Unfortunately, arty Rifters have a problem with drones catching up with them (we're talking about paper armour here) and not doing any real DPS. Although I might give them another try.
AC Jaguars are preety much not very cost-efficent considering you will only pop a few targets a Rifter can't pop, and do cost about 12 times more to fit then my Rifter fit does.
Edit: you may have a chance at veery close range, but actually mantaining it against a good pilot is impossible if he's webbing you back with a good web. Plus, drones screw you up anyway.

Qualities of a good solo ship: 1. Fast: You need to be able to escape blobs and pounce on good targets quickly. 2. Tackle: No explanation needed. 3. Gank: You will often only have a limited window of opportunity to kill a target, make it count. 4. EWAR: Often the best way to disable a lone target's ability to deal damage. ECM drones + RSDs can be brutally effective. 5. Good Pilot: There is no substitute.
