I know Games Workshop uses CAD in the design of their molds for plastic casting. So if you have the 3d model in the right format......

I'd be interested in a life sized model of a NAvy Meagthron for my desk at work.
Joking aside, if they were finely detailed and at a good price, then yes... got room on my desk

A games workshop collaberation would prob be the best idea but maybe that was why they merged with that other company. Its a great idea but I woul personally want them paintable.
This brings back so many memorys of long long hours happily painting adeptus titanicus models ...sigh...

as long as the store only accepts credit cards, I wont be buying anything from the EVE store.
That said, I am a sucker for collectibles of all kinds and if the ships were offered thru some venue besides the EVE store where i can get them easily, I probably would buy a few.

Hell yes! I would [ay extra for cast iron models like those star wars ones made of iron... Just please don't have a chinese company paint them, last thing I need is lead poisoning after licking my cast iron raven...

Depends on what type of models we are taking about.
If its the current common preassembled and prepainted junk that companies push forth based on comics, movies and games then no.
If a high quality then yes, preferably if its a model you have to assemble and paint yourself.

If they were quality metal models like pewter, then yes. Not sure I'd buy something plastic. But a pewter Absolution inlaid with bronze and gold (or brass, heh) I'd pay good money for.

I am afraid that half the people here wanting plastic kits that have to be assembled and painted (Yay! ) and the other half wanting prepainted die-cast/pewter ready to put on desk metal thingies (Booo!  ) is a very good reason for CCP to try neither

I think last time this topic came up, it was found to be too expensive for the manufacturer to invest in the 3d design and the mouldings of the self-assembly ship kits to charge the customer any kind of reasonable price for them. The models would be a fairly small production run, which would give them less of a chance to make the initial investment back.

I would be happy with either heh. The plastic model kits I could customize & make frickin awesome, but i'd have to worry about screwing something up or not being "good enough". The prepainted die-cast would have all the glory & detail of the originals though, as well as wieghty "giving it a certain grandness over cheap plastic".
There would just be 1 REALLY cool thing about it either way though. I could say "Some people like to hang toy airplanes from the cieling if their room. I like to hang toy warships ."
