Originally by: Johnathan Roark Currently we are working on packaging the files. As soon as we get everything ready, we'll release the code, just dont want to miss anything that's needed. That bug I mentioned has been fixed. It will be out very soon.
When will this be available for download?

Working installer? unless they have added in cron jobs and the like its a bunch of HTML files and a .sql file.
No need to package it up or any of that, just give us the files and db dump

It would seem we have missed the last Sunday (assumed release date based on earlier post) but I am curious if there is a problem or if real life has just gotten the best of ya? Hope all is well and I am looking forward to the new release.

We are having issues getting the database to install correctly, Hense the missed due date. There is a possible fix I am going to work on tonight once I'm off work.
Becuase of the size of the db I may have turn off some of my features for the public version and just allow people who use my hosting service to use the expanded features.
How ever none of the autosov, outpost tracking will be effected.

why wound anyone use this tool hosted by yourself it kind of puts towers in a big risk?
its nice to see you trying to sort the public side out but hosting yourself will naver get going
it only takes one line of code within the tracker.php file and you can see what ever you need and before anyone says anything about it will show on members list it wont that can be sorted by corp only so admins in a diffrent corp can see dirrent without you even knowing.
but by all means if you feel your pos is not at risk by anything then go ahead but any of you with pos's on good moons or defending sov in some area plz keep in mind it can be rigged so anyone with access can see anything they wish.
but nice job so far guys plz get the public version out without striping anything so we can use this tool as its ment to be
thanks

do me a favor, know what your talking about before you start babbling on about nonsence.
There is no such thing as a "safe" pos... even if I cared enough to go diving into someone database which I wouldn't....there is not much there that I couldent find out by just flying around in a covert. There is no "tracker.php" and "one line of code" wont do anything. So please, stay out of my thread.
Originally by: CaldFighter which 'features' are disabled/removed?
The system is coded so you can exactly tell the system were your pos is, via selecting exactly what Region, constellation, system, planet and moon. This prevents people from adding 2 pos's to the same moon. As well as prevents users from forgetting were the pos is because they dident name it correctly during creation.

The issue is not within the database, but because of its size some SQL servers will lockup or fail to insert all the data. This is mainly because Host's to do expect basic level accounts to be doing 80k transactions per second. I have developed a fix and am testing it. If all goes well I will put up a DL link soooooon.

ya, I tried splitting it up and doing a manual install it was still so large my host blew fits but I didn't split it down to region lvl(just large chunks)
might I suggest splitting the install by region or constellation, and allowing people to install smaller chunks? might require a rework of the installer tho
have the base install do everything but the moons, then a 2nd part that installs 1(or more) sql dumps of the moons by region/constellation/whatever split PKKP recruitment |

how big is it if you use mysqldump and then gzip it? loading bigish databases via http is often plagued with timeout issues.

I've had success using http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php in the past.

10mb is it? Although it's big fo what I thought it should be. We had this discussion and you explained yourself very well). That's not big enough to cause me any problems with my provider or the local system. I'll take it as is. I like Franny's idea of everything except moons then install moons by region or constellation.
I would really like to get working on this this weekend and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know.
Thanks,
-Deluri

Its a little over 30 mb. I dont think its actually the size of the database file but the number of records thats causing the problems. Its about 250k records (eve has lots of moons). I tried that bigdump.php file it worked for me but i'm not sure how easy that will be to convert into a simple installer.
If we don't come up with something tonight, I'll release put up a download link for all the files and database dump so everyone can at least use bigdump.php to install the database.

I have a solution (3rd time posting that ) but I had a idea I will see about doing.
the base install will default to absolute location off and not install any of the database for that. If the admin enables that feature he will then be prompted which regions to install. I could also add functions in there to delete/add regions as needed.
work for yall?

POS-Tracker 2.0.92 Release Thread The large database issue is not fixed in this version, but rather then keep people waiting, we figured people would find a way to get it to work while we work on a fix.

same here, thought it was my half ass install method(yank from here, yank from there... I have a file upload size limit on my provider(el-cheapo plan), 30mb is above it) PKKP recruitment |

The problem is with igbaddpos3.php,
Playing around i have changed line 34 to
<?php } else{
Rather than the elseif statment, i cant see where "$absolocation" value is coming from, anyway changing this line gives me the ablity to add a POS. But after that it gets all weird changing things in the view pos screen.
