POS Tracker 2.0
This website is designed as a fuel level and uptime tracking software for use within the eve in game broswer for POS management. It is based on the original version designed and released in this thread:
[Pos Tracker] Developer Release 0.1
The project was started just over 3 months ago headed up by myself and Johnathan Roark as "keep me busy" project. It has however evolved into a full fledge tool that we believe the eve community would like.
As per the topic title we are finally ready to enter the last stage of testing before releasing it to the public for download. We have chosen to do a open public beta test as well as internal testing so that you the end users can give us feedback. The basic functionality has not changed much over the original version headed up by Esaam was released. We have preformed many updates and added many features that we believe are vital to a productive and useful pos tracking application. Since this is not the release post I wont go into detail about all the added features I will however point out the major ones.
Major Additions: AutoSov¬ - Automatically adjusting fuel usages based on daily updated sovereignty information Moon Mining, Reaction Tracking, and Silo Tracking. Outpost Fuel Tracking - Allows you to track your pos system wide usages by defining which towers are filled from which outpost. Re-fueling calculator - You specify the time, it tells you how much fuel you need. and how many hauls it will take.
There are also a bunch of little fixes and additions which will be covered when the site is fully finished.
How to Beta-Test.
1. Open your ingame-browser and navigate to POS Beta Site
2. Click on register from the menu then fill out the info and hit finish. You will automatically be given View/Add/Delete access so you can begin testing soon as your done.
3. Login with your user and password and look around.
Stuff to note: The site requires Trust from the ingame-browser so when you get the pop up asking make sure you hit yes, and not just hit the enter yet, as that will just auto block it.
Also, This is a beta site so if something is not working right its prob a bug!! You can report it to us via this topic, or if you prefer you can also evemail me as well.
And lastly, because everyone is given view/add/remove access its possible to delete pos's and outposts that you did not create, while I can not control this I would ask that everyone please only delete the stuff you create. If there is an issue with one party deleting stuff I will ban their user Id.
We are still taking feature request, so if you have an idea for the site or a tool that is a must have please let us know and we'll see what we can do.
Thanks in advance to all the testers.

I will have to get JR to take a look at those error, he is actually the programmer of the silo/reaction stuff. the error is being caused by a misnamed variable or a mis-set variable.
As for having to reload the page for changes to show up, I assume that means you are viewing the site out of game. because the broswer caches data it can make erroneous errors show up. The site needs to be viewed from within the game for best results, however it is compatible both in and out of game.
At first we will only be supporting in game useage but I will see what I can do about fixed that cache bug.

Aye the silo function is a bit borked atm, I will look into it tomorrow. I'm sure something got stealth changed by accident.
early today, I managed to switch the cpu and pg usages for modules. took me a bit to figure out why my large dark blood tower had a maximum of 8h of uptime.. then I noticed it was using like 1000% more cpu than possible :)

Edited by: Kirk Hasselen on 13/09/2007 15:13:29 Nice update to the system!
Few bugs: Open Structure Amount, might wanna look to limit that.Fuel Calculator needs to exclude hauler if nothing has been enteredthe Silo dropdown's need to have the current value selectedthe Reactor dropdown's need to have the current value selectedThe Online time of Silo/Reactors isn't showing
Great additions and the Sov thing is nice (hard to test though )
I'm really looking forward to see what sort of code you guys are using.

going down your list.
If you talking about apon creation or a pos it hard limited to 50. if not advise. the fuelcalculator was supposed to and I forgot >.< The silo and reactor stuff is being reworked atm :) OGB is not offically supported however, the reason you can see the admin panel is becuase everyone is defaulting to lvl3 access, anything below that and you wont have access to the admin panel. I cant reproduce the ogb error with the user page, anyone else seeing this?
as for Sov thing, lets say API is a wonderful tool :)

Nice to see this project getting close to release, couple of points:
1. Can you sort the fuel items alphabetically please? bit of a pain when refuelling having to keep going up and down
2. In one of the previous releases there was support for NPC Corp hanger POS fuel stock, is this going to be reintroduced? It would also be nice to have the fuel calculator allow you to calculate x number of months of fuel to purchase/mine for the NPC Corp hanger stock levels.
3. Fuel calculator in previous versions had an option to calculate optimum fuel levels.
Look forward to its release, keep up the good work.

Nice work!! The list above seems to cover a lot of what I found.
I'm checking the outpost grouping thing tonight. Unfortunately some POSes are fueled from a POS not an outpost so just thinking about how to use it in grouping. -Deluri

i think the pos fuel is listed as it is as it's the same order on pos's, so it's easier to update numbers that way.
Only thing i can think of, but not sure if it's possible is on the silo edit screen it currently seems to take 3 edits to setup the silo's and would be nice if it could be put into a single form?
Material (Dropdown) | Input/Output (Dropdown) | Connection (Dropdown) Submit
But its not a huge issue, just more an 'ease of use' kinda thing.

1. The fuels are sorted based on the fuel management screen ingame.
2. The outpost hanger tracking replaced this.
3. I think what your refering to is on the Edit POS page. I do not recall it ever being on the Fuel calculator.

It really makes no difference. Only thing is it wont give you an upper storage limit on space. An outpost really can refer to any storage area that you want to fuel multiple pos from. The lable outpost came about because thats where Rx and I fueled our pos from.

It is, but that would prevent you from making one change. The ingame browser doesn't tend to like preselected values, at least last time i tried it. I am going to look at smothing out the navigation with the silo options.
The silo tracking was working rather well in our the previous versions. I'll try to get it fixed this weekend.

it wasn't on the fuel calc page, unless it was custom added by their web admin, i'll confirm that much

cool, i know what the igb is like but preselection is working for me so guessing they've fixed any problems with it.
But either way, once there setup it's rare you need to change them.
All looking good though

I'll send you a ingame mail with that bug, and no it's not hardcoded (atleast not in the right place). I havn't been able to reproduce the error since... but I was seeing Franny's corps info
btw does this system provide any form of corp isolation? or is it one corp only site?

That's what I would suggest, depends alot on how addstructures page is coded.. if it's very close to the original code it will need it badly.

Ok I see what your saying, basically you changed the number in the address bar. I am slowly changing that so no variables will be passed via the address bar, and therefor remove the ability to bypass our limits :)
And to Answer you other question, the site can natively support multiple corps within the same alliance or even just a public version regardless of corp. It would however require adding a few more levels to the admin administration. I don't have the code in front of me but if I am remembering correctly all users who are lvl1 can only see pos's that belong to their corp and only view. lvl2 can view and edit pos's by their corp. lvl4 can do view/edit/delete anything regardless of corp/alliance. I belive lvl3 will disregard corp aswell but stick within alliance. I will have to check. Atm this is more pointed towards single corps rather than alliances, however it would be possible to make a alliance version.

I figured out what was wrong with the silo tracking. It was mostly a database issue. The older version of the pos-tracker used structure ids made up depending on the order they where entered into the database. I recently changed this to use the type_ids from the eve database export. The problem was the eve type ids where to long to be stored properly in the tables that handle the silos, reactors, and harvesters.
The beta site should be fixed as soon as Rx gets around to it.

looking good, no errors... yet. Just an hour to wait for the reaction stuff to kick in
An addition that would be useful though (and i'm surprised its not been implimented) is..
After calculating Fuel and it displays the amounts, having a button that then forwards those numbers to the 'editpos.php' page to save some typing

ok, reactions been 'active' but the silo still seems to be empty. (although it might be the input/output wrong?)
Also, when you view the pos page it says: Last Updated: 2007-09-15 21:33:21 Was updated: 330527 Hours Ago

Input means it supplies material to a reactor. Output means it receives material from a reactor or moon harvester. Also, when setting up, give it a value for the material, even if its 0.I'll look into making this step not necessary.
