considering you "fixed" the database yesterday atleast i did assume that CCP were competent enough to manage to keep it up for more then a day atleast.

Originally by: Hassre Does this mean I miss out on that sweet 'complete the mission in under set time' bonus, or is that time going to be reset?
It's just ISK this time, so I wouldn't mind missing out on it TOO much, but it's still not cool to miss out on the bonus through problems that I didn't cause.
From now on, I will petition every god damn drone I lose due crashes. I think you should too _______

Originally by: CCP John Proctor With no disk space monitoring we were not notified of the second RAMSAN was using all its storage space, and since the job that backs up our transaction log files did not fail but remained in a hung state we did not receive a warning for that as well.
Weak! then this needs to be sorted out, use MOM or anything to monitor disk space, its not hard, jeez even right a script to monitor it every hour. Its not hard

"We had a small database issue that caused the server to crash"
It begs the question what the consequences of a major database issue would be. Small database issues crash the production servers entirely for hours during peak time. Major database issues render the data-centre to ashes in the ensuing explosion.

When I first saw the ETA listed as 16:00, my first thought was, what? EST, CST, MST, PST? They don't say. Now that I'm on the forum, at least I can see that they have a time listed here. That makes me feel a lot better. Obviously the server must be over in Europe somewhere or so it would seem.

no but for example it would mean that the database got damaged and in the worste case they have to do a rollback from the latest backup (yesterday downtime if the backup routine didnt work as stated).
so dont complain about a little crash :p
