You know it takes a DT to allocate a node to a system as far as i know :)

You do realize that the only time CCP can "put hardware" on any system is during downtime, and it requires that they rewrite part of their code to do so? They only do this for Jita. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

I guess the fight won't be over for a few weeks, they got plenty of time, but just imagine the laggfest if eveyone in Jita was shoosting eachother.

No it does not.
In several situations that was done. For example on the LV babt titan kill. The node crashed a few times. Then DB administrators placed the NOS in a syngle dedicated node. That took only a few monents after the node crashed.

That still involves taking a node offline and starting it again, which involves some downtime, even if the rest of the cluster is unaffected. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

In that case I stand corrected. I do believe, however, that it requires bringing the node offline and re-arranging some code. It may happen if the node crashes, but certainly not before. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

You guys should read dev blogs and forms before whining. I know everything sucks with more then about 200 in local. But the problem is known and will be fixed. First start is an annonced new netcode for rev3 (coming november) and another problem. 1 CPU can't handle such fleets. System can't spread load over multiple CPU's. Will be fixed in 2008.
That sucks but for now sadly we have to live with it since getting new hardware and making new server code takes time that's why we got the soon(tm)

So, the squeaky wheel just stops squeaking? In order for that to happen, it would need some grease...we can do this all day.

In that case I'll cut to the chase - Based on the dev blogs, dev responses, and recent patch notes, I'm willing to bet that all available manpower is being put toward reducing lag and eliminating desync. Trying to get their attention on the forums is therefore a waste of time because they're already aware of the problem and are doing everything they can to fix it. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

Agreed. They surely know that if they don't reduce lag they will start losing player base. So they must be working on it as hard as they can.
So if the wheel stops squeaking but the driver knows its broken, he'll fix it cause he's gonna be too scared to lose the whole cart/wagon/car... It just takes time.
Also, a lot of people whining about lag should actually look at their rigs, not CCPs. I know for fact that MY lag decreased when i finally purchased an up to date computer. But do not worry if you don't have top notch machine. Trinity 2 is actually supposed to work faster.

It looked like you were trying to stuff so many in local that we wouldn't siege and you would win without a fight tbh. Lagging up a system to win by default is all well and good but it will bite you in the ass from time to time.
We could have had a good fight when local was slightly in your favour and cap fleets where fairly even but you got trapped in the more more more mentality.
Shouldn't need 400+ to fight against 200 really, and then blaming the smaller force on the lag is just....... well

"Dear CCP, our 650+ people are lagging FAT, please give us a node so the other 650 guys wanting to fight can try to come in and make it worse."
If FAT had zero lag with 650 people, we'd see 1650 people there and whines about it. 650 people in jita is likely not nealy as CPU intensive as 650 people fighting.
I often wonder how much CPU is wasted on minor things like DPS tracking for KMs. I could only imagine if it had to factor in the landscape for blocking turrets and missiles.

Not true actually. At the current moment, 3 - 400 people is about the max any alliance can / will field on a...semi-regular basis. In a year, we'll look back and go 'Phht, 500 vs 500? That's child's-play' ---
