So, after receiving my Regenerative Plating II and thinking that I had received something of value I have come to realize that itÆs got to be about the most worthless thing I have. It gives an 8% increase to armor hp versus 6% for the regenerative plating I (from what I have read the named reg. plating has 7%) and requires no cpu or power which might make it appealing to some whose load out has taken up all their cpu or power, has an extra low slot and would like some more armor but how many really have an extra low slot to spend for such a small return. Tech II items were suppose to be a decent improvement over their tech 1 counterparts but the tech I energized regenerative membrane gives 12.5%. Are not the tech II items supposed to be better than other items from the same class? I have only sold 2 of these items in the several weeks that I have had it and will probably just mothball the bp until they come out with bpÆs for the construction components needed, that way I might be able to price it more attractively. Is any one else receiving Tech II bpÆs that they are doing nothing with them because they are basically worthless? Some people are posting saying that people are getting Tech II bpÆs and doing nothing with them, well now you know why we arenÆt doing anything with them, their just not worth our time and effort right now because there is not any demand to pay what we need to make a profit off of them while not giving enough of a bonus to justify the price.
I honestly would like to see some kind of adjustment on this to either give it enough of a boost over its tech I counterpart to make it attractive or reduce the construction component needs enough so that I can cut down the cost I need to sell them at.

I used to use Regen Armor II all the time in beta
At least you got a BP. Besides, go complain when you have something Really useless like a microsmart bomb II, or rocket launcher II, or micro capitor injector II.

Some people are never happy. _______________________________________________

See, you just made my point for me. So microsmart bomb II, rocket launcher II and micro cap injector II are just as worthless. Nice to know, makes me feel like I am not the only one with a pile for a bp. And yes Foo, some people are never happy, deal with it. I have seen you moan on the forums plenty of times so I guess we can lump you into that category also.

I don't see what's so bad about that. What did you expect, an extra 5 % ?
Why do you think people prefer named stuff, be it a weapon, a computer, named armor modules, etc..etc.. ? Why do you think people spend sometimes millions on named modules?
It's because when the chips are down, the cruise missles are incoming, and projectiles, tachyon beams or whatever are hitting your shields and armor, EVERY SINGLE percent that you have in your favor is going to count, towards saving your butt and your ship, to fight another day.
So don't be dissapointed about the 1%, it might come in handy someday. And, at least you got a bp.

Ok, letÆs be honest here. Am I happy I was offered a Tech II bp, yes. Am I happy with it after I found out the stats on it, no. The whole premise behind anyone accepting a Tech II bp is to make money; if you disagree youÆre a liar. Now since we established that the reason behind the drive for Tech II bp is fiscal why would anyone be happy with one that no one wants? Good for you if you used one in beta, or on castor. That does absolutely nothing in the real game. Once again, the only reason anyone does R&D missions is to get a bp that will make isk, and hopefully lots of it. And youÆre responding ôbe happy you got oneö tells the rest of us that youÆre not happy because you havenÆt gotten one. And why are you trying to get one, to make isk of course. Lots and lots of isk.
What I expected was at least a 50% increase over the basic tech I item. WasnÆt what I expected but no big deal. Its not my expectations that sell the item, itÆs the people who want to buy itÆs expectations that matter and apparently this item doesnÆt meet them because no one is willing to buy them. Now as mentioned in my previous post, if I had a way to reduce the cost of the item for me to manufacture this and could drop the price enough maybe these people would be willing to buy it. Its kind of like the shuttle bp fiasco going on right now, you get offered a shuttle bp and think ôneat, thatÆs not to bad of a rewardö, but after receiving your 25th shuttle bp and knowing everyone and their brother is also receiving the same it makes that bp worthless. There is no market for it, or the shuttles you could build since everyone is also receiving hundreds of shuttles as rewards also. Not an exact comparison but similar. Point is itÆs an item now one wishes to deal with because there is no demand for it.

Thank you for your offer Joshua, but as mentioned above in my first post I will just mothball it until they release bp's for the construction components in hopes of making it more attractively priced. Until then it can just sit in a hanger somewhere. And when I read another post from people asking why no one is selling their tech II items I will be able to at least answer them why I am not.

I also got a lame tech II BP. I found that the cost of tech II components is so high relative to the value of the item that there is no market for it. No profit to made here.
And don't get me started on the 2 months of work it took just to get the darn BP.
Tech II inhales.

i don't understand why ppl are so upset at having to sell stuff for high prices? named stuff is really expensive and not huge pecentages higher than normal ?
After all didn't we all want equipement that not everybody could get or afford ?
People will want it after other people get hold of it and get that little bit of advantage out of it. (unless its the tech2 version of a tech1 item thats not ever used)
Plus these items you have BP's too do ppl ingame make huge profits of the Tech1 versions ?

waa waa. do you realize that 8 from 6 is a 33% increase? that not all that bad if you ask me. dont worry about its useful/useless-ness. if you dont want it, im positive you could get 10 mil for it easy. not bad for an agent that never REQUIRES you to visit him.

Have you tried to buy a tech1 energised version of the bp you have? They are as rare as balanced journalists and more expensive than your tech2 non-energised version.
When the bp comes out for 1600 armour and they stop the damage seep from armour to hull (which I understand they are looking at) then you have got a really worthwhile bp on your hands. |

Perhaps MicroSmartbomb II will be necessary to build a more complex tech II smartbomb and you will not feel bad. ------------------

Dude I started my research the day after Castor and I havent received anything , Id rather have a 'crappy' BP than none at all.
Although yeah, Damage Control II or something would be a bit of a kick in the teeth I agree
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

I don't know where your problem is, there are far more useless BPs out there. Sure the Energized Regenerative Plating is better but that one does use CPU/Powergrid.
I'm not so happy with my Micro Photon Smartbomb II, too. But hell, a lot of people haven't received a BP in the first place.

Edited by: IZON on 25/02/2004 02:15:00 I guess I got lucky. I picked up a Mobile Warp Disruptor 1 original BP after only 240 RP's. Hung it on my toilet door for five minutes, then flogged it for nearly 80mil.
Edit/ Which just goes to show. If you don't recognise the value of what you have, someone else will.
