This change would completely change the role that carriers have today, as a frontline combat ship with logistics abilities, to a logistics ship with limited combat abilities. A large number of players are protesting against these proposed changes, yet we have not seen CCP acknowledging these complaints despite over seventeen hundred posts being made in this thread already. I am therefore deciding to "vote with my wallet". I am hereby canceling all eight of my accounts. Their reactivation is dependent entirely on the response from CCP. I have endured long training times. I have endured lag and desyncs. I have accepted crashes and buggy game mechanics. However, to even propose a change like this that does nothing to address the fundamental problems with the game today is enough to make me want to quit. Feel free to post here if you decide to vote with your wallet as well. Make your voice heard. And no, you cannot have my stuff. Protest against broken carrier changes

You have more accounts than some noob corps have members, so yeah, if this is representative of the anti-carrier nerf campaign, then yes, I think for the average eve player, the nerf is good, I mean jesus, how do you compete with that? You're hard core, like a pokemon trainer who trades pokemon with himself. How is this going to effect you anyways? just transfer control to one of your alts, wow... big difference, instead of clicking twice for massive damage, you have to click twice, alt-tab, click twice, alt-tab, click twice, alt-tab for massive damage. Were they to LIMIT the number of fighters you can CONTROL based on number of "launcheable fighters" vs number of fleet members in solarsystem, it would be more than ok. A carrier is not a front line piece of equipment, it supports those at the front line by providing a place to get your ship back in one piece, and get back out to the fight. What I'm here to say is that these are proposed changes nothing concrete and certainly nothing that has already happened so don't cancel your accounts until a few weeks after these changes get implemented and I suspect that will be never. Refusing to participate -aka. canceling your account- is not a vote, it is essentially the opposite of voting.

The carrier represents months of training and a sizable capital investment. It also represents a commitment to the idea that logistics wins the day -- not the size of your numbnut army. Instead of talking about nerfing the carrier serious thought should go into buffing it and making it an anti-blob strategic piece. This could be done by reducing its mobility while enhancing its gang lethality / bonuses. Players that have invested time and effort to training for, building and fielding carriers should not be penalized because others have not taken the long view of the game. I think the proposed nerf is not a solution to what ails PVP in eve, just a quick fix that will do more harm in the long term.
